There is a project called "Massive Orchestra" that, through the use of their 111111 app are attempting to create the largest orchestra in the world.
You download the app free of charge from the Android Market, and on 11th November 2011 at 11.11 (GMT+1) your phone will start playing music, along with every other device in the world with the app installed, thus attempting to create the worlds largest orchestra. Afterwards, you can then see a map with all the poeple on earth that helped to do this.

A bit about me:
I've just started uni to do software engineering and after the first week of "bonding" and stuff, we've been put into groups of 6 to develop an android app and market it. We're students of the Preston campus of the university of central Lancashire aged 18. My group has next to no programming experience, with only me having done anything before although it's mostly been python, I also did some C++.
I've been on XDA for a few years, since I got my first android (a HTC Desire HD, now on a galaxy note) and have mostly been a lurker, not really saying a huge amount because I don't want to get in the way of developers and annoy people, but also because I don't know a huge amount about android, although I have provided some logcats and advice where I knew the answer and could help. I often also use alpha or beta releases as a daily driver as I just text a little and love fiddling with the android operating system.
Our task:
Our first task as a group is to create a android based quiz-type app that will eventually double up as a GPS located treasure hunt app. We have to build this in appinventor as few of us know a programming language and it's a good introduction in how a program is built up and the logic behind it. The app is built up over a few weeks, as we learn how to do different things. It starts as a quiz app with hard coded questions, then we have to develop it into a quiz app that uses a server to get questions and finally into a treasure hunt that uses GPS locations and questions to lead us around the city of Preston to get points.
All throughout the 4 weeks we have to do it, we gain points which transfer into the grade we will get for this module of the course.
The catch:
During these 4 weeks, we have to market our app and our brand, to try "sell" our app and get it out there. As I'm the programmer of the group, mainly building the app, I'm not so involved in this process but I thought I'd ask on here for feedback and to ask you to help us out.
What I'm asking:

So, is the age of 10 becoming the new benchmark for career success? We already have an 8-year old Microsoft Certified Professional and now we can add a 9-year old World Domination Application developer to the list
The 9-year old I am speaking of is Kundai Shoko, and the app he developed is called Trump the Boss. Designed with his artistic younger sisters (aged 3 and 5) in mind, the app allows users to control Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton making them scale various obstacle and International enemies in their quest for world domination. Since its launch one week ago, the freebie app has attracted lot and lots of downloads
Apparently, Kundai is fluent in six programming languages and started using the computer at the age of two. Since then, he has completed over 20 programming projects. Currently, he is in the process of developing another app called Learn to Program, which he hopes to launch on the App Store in the near future. His father, who also writes iPhone applications, claims that they check their statistics every night in a friendly father/son competition.

Hello everyone, my name is Rob and I am here on behalf of TEC. TEC (short forTeamEchoComputing) are a software development team from Preston, Lancashire, England. We are a group of 6 people who came together to create the app TECknowledge, which as noted above is a multiple choice quiz app aimed at improving the user's knowledge.
The app contains 7 different topics, such as geography, computing, video games, sport, law, music and general knowledge. Each topic currently contains 10 questions and gives the user 10 seconds (with law being the exception at 20 seconds) to answer each question. The user can either get the question correct, incorrect or they can run out of time which in turn is shown as being incorrect. The user can switch between each of the topics, even when you are half way through a question; they can also replay the same quiz again if they wish too.
Currently the app is in version 1.0 meaning it is yet to receive any updates, but some with the on their way very soon. We plan to get the app onto the Google Play Store, but for know you can use the download link displayed below. Make sure you have 'unknown sources' enabled to be able to install our app.
