[Q] E-mail notification badge counter non existent? (miui) - HTC Sensation

Hey guys. I'm using MIUI right now, latest build 110280, but I have had this same issue with any non sense rom (i.e. cm7).
Basically, I cannot get a notification badge counter (the little bubble that is on the top right corner of the SMS/Gmail/Phone icon that shows how many missed messages/calls you have) to work with the MAIL icon. With a Sense rom, it works no problem, but it doesn't seem to work on MIUI or non sense roms.
I've tried looking for some apps that would do this, but it seems like they only work for the GMAIL app and not normal mail app.
Any idea on how I can get around this? It's annoying to just have the mail icon in the top notification bar, I'd like to have a counter on the actual mail icon on my homescreen!
Thanks for the help!

Gmail notification in the system bar

Hi, I was wondering if there's an app that would alert you when you have new gmails. Similar to programs like Palringo where there would be a yellow envelope in the system bar telling you that you have new IMs, I was wondering if there's such thing for Gmail.
Thank you.

SMS icon for rooted Hero

Hey guys, I am pretty new to all of this, currently running Damages 2.07 ROM. Love it a lot. But I was wondering if there is anyway to get the Messaging icon changed. I love the Messaging icon on the Droid, its the little green android, but it is a "comment" bubble. Kind of looks like the Chomp SMS icon, but not exactly. Anyway, I was wondering if there was anyway to get that App icon, instead of the normal messaging icon that comes with 2.1
Let me see if i can't find one for you
bettercut lets you customize icons and the text below them and much more
In the market, get
BetterCut
Android 2.0 icon set
With those you can theme your icons.

Hide new email notification icon (VM6.5 / Samsung i8000)

Hi
I would like to permanentely hide the new email message icon in the Today notification bar.
The reason is that I am tracking messages using the Samsung widget (with counters). In addition, I might read/delete the email from a PC/Outlook and the notification icon is just not up-to-date anymore and does not disappear automatically in that case. So I do not need it and would like to always having it hidden. Any registry setting available for this. Did not found it until now.
Thanks for support!

[Q] Small Mod For ChompSMS? HELP!

Hey everyone,
I have a really nice dark MIUI theme running on my CM7.1 RC1 and I really like the notification icon that is displayed for the stock messaging app when i get SMS/MMS. However, i also use ChompSMS and for some strange reason, the CM7 theme doesn't display the same notification icon for ChompSMS. The stock ChompSMS icons look really bad (no offense) and almost ruin my theme. Anyway, I have the latest ChompSMS apk (5.15) and the png file of the desired notification icon. My question is, can anyone either:
1. Teach me how to customize the notification icon for ChompSMS.
2. Or at least do it for me
The first is more preferable but hey, both will do just fine.
I have uploaded both the files, hopefully i won't get any trouble beacuse ChompSMS is free!
Oh, we had almost the same issue... sorry that I solved mine with somewhat like five years later than yours.

Question Missing LinkedIn icon in notification bar

Honestly, it's really hard to understand how notifications work on Samsung devices... Coming from a Pixel first and then a Xiaomi (where all was pretty basic), Samsung implementation is pretty weird.
I finally managed to understand how to force, for an app, the popup style, and I'm still wondering why for some apps (sms, whatsapp, telegram, messenger) it was on by default, while for others (Gmail included) it was off.
Anyway... I'm now having problems with LinkedIn: I get a notification sound, but I see no icon on the top bar, yet if I swipe down the notification is there. See a screen recording below:

I use LinkedIn a lot so I'd like this to be solved. Thanks
