Flashed Radio version confusion - HTC Desire S

Hi,
I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312144 and flashed the radio attached in it. Everything flashed ok and I can make calls/ send txt etc.
However I checked the version and on my phone it reads as:
Baseband version: 20.4801.30.0822P_3822.10.08.04_M
The version on the thread says it should install 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M
The difference being 0822P and not 0822U.
I am on O2 and my previous radio was 20.28I.30.085AP_3805.06.02.03_M
I wanted to check if anybody knew if this was ok to leave or I should flash something else??
Many thanks

Press and hold the camera button...reset with the stick.....when you can see the color bars release the stick and after the camera button..
If the color bars is in your screen , everything is ok.You can flash the rom.
The color bars is the bootloader.
I wonder what's your radio version....

Check again if the hard spl is right.
No need to hard spl the device when you want to flash a new rom.
Hard spl is for one time and that's it.
If your radio version is 1.65.xx.xx ,you must downgrade it first to 1.59.xx.xx.
I don't have MSN..
my msn is [email protected]
thanks again

Ohhh come on...Did you Hard spl your device with Olipro hard spl v2?? Good !!!
If the radio that you have right now is 1.65.xx.xx ,you never let you flash any other rom with included radio, until you downgrade first your radio to any 1.59.xx.xx.
So you must try first a new radio and after if everything goes well ,flash your original Htc's rom..

One thing, find a full dump of original rom with IPL, SPL, Radio and OS and try to flash it.
But if that dont help - too bad =( maybe bad sectors in IPL

[Radio & WiMax] 2.05.00.06.10 update.zip (Full IMG)

UPDATE: Anyone who broke 4G using unrevoked, there is no fix yet, sorry.
I've been getting alot of questions and comments about this...
Why is this different from others?
Does not flash Recovery
Does not Flash Boot
Radio is a FULL image and not a diff
YOU MUST HAVE ALL THE 1.47.651.1 SYSTEM FILES FOR WIMAX! (Link Removed, Read)
You break your 4G being stupid, not my fault.
This is a full IMG, wont overwrite recovery or anything else, just radio or wimax!
Only requirement is to have the new system files, don't even need the last radio.
RADIO: Torrent or Direct Download
WIMAX: Torrent or Direct Download
*Disclaimer: These files work for me, if you use them properly they should work properly. I'm just not responsible for damage in any form.
If you want to support me, just check out my various websites, and spread word!
On a side note, I say "must" for the new system files as the new WiMax will break without.
I don't know about radio, but even if it does work, it's not good practice to use with older system files.
Baseband Requirement
Does this flash require that you have a certain baseband before flashing? I am running a stock rooted 1.47 rom that Caulkin posted and am still running the stock baseband radio...I have not updated to the 5.31 that toast posted yet.
Do I need to flash 5.31 radio before flashing this? Or I am ok using my stock .24 radio?
Do I need to reflash my recovery_img afterwards?

Ah yes, I knew I forgot to say something...you do need to latest radio.
Main post updated!
Like I said, radio may not fully update...but it doesn't break anything and it will update WiMax
I'm guessing that this does NOT require that you use Caulkin's Wimax fix first as well?

I'm not aware of any "fix" from Caulkin, but if you referring to his WiMax update, no you don't need it.
I'm honestly surprised nobody posted anything like this before me that didn't include the damn recovery.
It's annoying to have to flash recovery when it's not needed.
So I would have to flash Calkulin's 1.47.651.1 on top of DC 3.2.x then this radio file?

My sentiments exactly.
Anywho has anyone gotten this working yet? I'm not one for subjecting my phone to be a guinea pig when bricking is a possible side effect.
Does any ROM based on the 1.47.651.1 update work with this or does it have to be the stock ROM?
Neotelos_com, did your Baseband version change to reflect this update? Mine hadn't...

is this based off of the OTA released yesterday which was 21.4 MB or the OTA released today at 30.2 MB ?
im still grabbing the 30.2 MB OTA released today over my slow 3g right now so i haven't had a chance to compare the OTA .zip from yesterday to the one today.

I wasn't aware of a new OTA today, these would be based off yesterdays.
It's possible Sprint just switched from a diff for the radio, that would cause about 10mb size difference....in witch this will be the same thing.
No guarantees though, until we find out.
why is it a MUST that we use the .47 system files?

It's been said WiMax wont work without.
I don't know about radio...but you can go ahead and try the radio.
It can always be reverted back using toasts old radio update.zip
It's just good practice to use the system files that these were designed for.
I'm still running DamageControl as a base (with .47), it didn't need a clear for me.
ah, ok..i shall report back w/ my findings!
Radio flashed ok. Tried flashing the WiMax zip and it failed and said it couldn't find the radio.diff?
I did notice the wimax zip has the update-script still looking for the radio.diff to update. This probably needs revised?

You're not installing the right ROM for your phone maybe? You need to install NS4G roms, not NS roms.
Since you have already tried other ROMs too, I guess that Its probably due to wrong Radio.
What is your phone model mentioned under the battery?
Secondly, boot into bootloader mode by pressing volume up and power button, and tell me the Radio version too.

I can definitely test to see if it is rooted, hopefully the chances it has a custom Rom but was then unrooted are slim.

I have tried to see if I can get the ICS update via Kies, but I get the message
your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware vis kies
version: PDA:KE8 / PHONE:KE7 / CSC:KE8 (XXX)
If I type *#1234# in the phone dialer I get
PDA7300XXKE8
PHONE: P7300XXKE7
CSC7300XAKE8
So i am still trying to figure out why I cant update with Keys, if it is because it is on a non Stock Firmware or if it is because I am in the US and it seems to be a UK tab.
Does someone knows if you can run Kies for an Update while in the US on a UK tablet ?
Thanks

If it is on a custom rom then no you cant update that way. Also might have a prob as it will not see an update as your not in the devices default country.
I don't know much about that model of phone, but I think it would be a good idea to wipe and flash a stock image - one that will give you factory recovery (not having it can stop you from getting updates - one possibility). That way you know you are starting clean.

I have already reset the device, but as far as I know (read) resetting the device does not go back to a stock ROM if a custom One was installed, it only goes back to the default of the Custom ROM.

Hmm, I guess you are right. I mixed up 'rooting' and 'custom roms'.
By the way, I suppose custom rom does not even have to be rooted. so 'root checker' might a good, but not 100% accurate check.
Just reflash an other ROM, a stock one perhaps? Or some other one, that suits you better?

This is why I recommend you re-flash stock with factory recovery using a computer, not just the "factory reset" option in the phone.

I would recommend simply finding your stock firmware and flashing it. That should do the trick. Or you can just find another ROM, why disable the goodyness of having a rooter phone by unrooting it?

A new twist has surfaced.
First it appears that KE8 is a samsung firmware so i am on stock
But the twist is that this tablet as a fully functional Phone dialer in the Samsung mini app panel and can place and receive phone calls.
Doing some research I found out normally none of these tablets have phone functionality except some of the early demo models.
So either the previous owner had found a way to add phone capabilities to the stock firmware, or it is one of the early models (after all it is running 3.0.1).
In both cases, I would guess it means that if I update to a more recent stock firmware, I will likely loose phone capabilities.
Does someone know if there is a way to find out if a firmware has phone support?
Is there a way to backup the current firmware in the tablet before flashing a new one so I could go back to it ?
Thanks to all for the answers so far!

Firmware version for Moonshine

Hi all, first I want to thank to this community that helped me to solve a lot of problems just reading the posts
I have a little problem, I've an HTC One S (S4), already unlocked and rooted, I would like to install the maximusHD ROM so I'm following the procedure of SuperCID and S-OFF. I tried the standard SuperCID procedure with hex editor but cid didn't change after the procedure so I understood the nand it's locked.
I want to follow the moonshine procedure but now I have android 4.1.2 with TrickDroid 10.3.2 and I don't know if it's possible with this firmware or not or if I need to upgrade to another before..
If someone knows, please let me know, thank you guys!

If your Hboot version is 2.15 / radio is higher than 1.11 , then sadly your phone is write protected and no chance to do the supercid which is necessary for Facepalm s-off. Moonligt method works in just some cid wariants ...

In first, thanks for the quick answer,
in second, yes, my Hboot is 2.15 and my radio is 1.15 and I know that my phone is write protected, but it has also the T-MOB101 CID that is supported (as I can see on moonshine documentation).
Now, on moonshine download folder it's wrote for T-MOB only " ROM Version 3.14.531.11" , what it refers to this number? where can I check it? I read also that's possible some kind of down/upgrade to ROMs supported by moonshine, but, before I move, I really like to know from you if it's possible and what to do.
Thank you again

1) I'm still searching for something similar but it seems no one had the same "problem" (that is not a problem, is a lack of information)
2)Yes, I know the base things, I already rooted some phones so something I know the one that I didn't know is the reference to that number (" ROM Version 3.14.531.11"), but now you said that it's the ROM built number so I could find a rom with the same one.
Yes the phone is still rooted and recovery installed.
I found something, could I use this ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250573
Thank You!

That ROM is the T-Mobile official release from June. The link you posted to McKinney's ROM is based on the T-Mo release. I used Face Palm when I s-off'ed, but if it were me, I would RUU back to the official release, and then use Moonshine instructions from there.

Thanks for your answer
I took that ROM only because it's adviced in this thread for the 'moonshining' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42818435&postcount=74 , you think that the RUU would be better than this? if yes, can you show me where I could find it? and is it needed a particular process to install the RUU?
Thank You!

Yes ... use the T-Mobile official release. This has been discussed before, and Tivofool put together a very nice tutorial. Here you go ...

CID T-MOB101 means that your phone is from TMobile Germany and not Tmobile USA.
So you need from moonshine the file: HTC One S TMO_DE (3.16.111.10).

Yes my phone comes from Germany so it's possible that's TMobile germany, but are you sure of this? Because it's automatic to think that CID T-MOB101 needs the T-MOB version, but if you're sure, I'll trust you
So, now, do I need a ROM version with this new number (3.16.111.10) before moonshining?
Thank You!

Yes, you need this ROM.(Latest for your CID)
My phone was with this CID and ROM.
I was me that asked from moonshine author the support of this CID-ROM and sent them the proper OTA files.

The most easy way is to restore a TWRP backup with this ROM.
I have upload here a TWRP backup from my phone. (Boot ans System only - no Data partition)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B17QCerxI07CQXl4eS12UEFWclk&usp=sharing
You must : - Restore system
- Flash boot.img
- Wipe Data partition
Try it.

You have a custom ROM to your phone.
I uploaded for you a backup of the last OFFICIAL ROM for your phone, to help you make it s-off with moonshine method.
And you ask me if it there is no incompatibility?
I can't help. End of conversation. Sorry

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear, I would to ask you if the backup you uploaded is suitable for my phone because it comes from yours (if I understood) , nothing else the question was only for possible incompatibility because it comes from another phone but if you say no, I trust you .and firstly I and thank you for the backup you provided me.
sorry taxtax but I'm not able to restore your backup, I put your files in a folder in the directory clockworkmod>backups, when I try from recovery, advanced restore> -restore system, it says Md5 sum mismatch..
