App = batt drain? - myTouch 4G General

So today I downloaded a variety of apps, from the market as well as from unknown sources. It seems like the battery is draining a little faster than normal, is there any way I could check if an app is causing this?
Also, this might sound stupid but do viruses/malware exist out there for Android phones and if so, how would I go about findng out whether or not my phone is potentially infected?
Thanks in advance.

Lmao. That was awesome.
HTC420, what ROM are you using? Stock or custom? If custom, what flavor? Many have a built in battery use feature that will tell you what percentage each app uses. The stock ROM might have even had that, though I haven't run it in ages. Dig around in Settings.

You can tweak the build.prop. search around. It's mentioned all over the place.

Maybe you feel cooler entering secret codes in the dialer instead of running basically a script to type in the numbers for you? Just sayin.

Browser won't load anything?

Running CM7 stable, No matter what I do I cannot get anything to load up in the browser, But I known that data is working as I can use the market and twitter/facebook/g+
Also the XDA app works just fine also so it is certainly limited to the browser.

Reducing ram usage?

Right now my phone is lagging incredibly bad and happens every so occasion. It feels like my ram is getting full very often. Any tips minus restarting occasionally which I do?

Go to developers options and set background limit to 3.

Hmm I've tried those steps without results but now I'm thinking this may be heat related...

Flash a nandroid of a different rom? Or start with a fresh install of the rom? See if it continues to get hot.

Snapdragon™ BatteryGuru (Beta)

I've read about this application, officially released by Qualcomm for Snapdragon handsets.

Has anyone already tried it? Although in beta stage, it's already supporting our One S.

Didn't show up for me within the app store on my phone, but found it in the playstore on PC and used the 'send to phone' feature to install it.
Intrigued as to whether this will intelligently save battery power or just shut down functionality of the phone.

App similar to guard mode in MIUI?

Does anyone know of any app that performs a similar function to MIUI's Guard mode?
What it basically does is, hide your SMS, Call Log, and Gallery photos until you input the pass-code. It does not delete everything, it just hides it until guard mode is disabled. I would like it for those situations, were I'm at work, or visiting my parents, ect... and I don't want someone to accidentally stumble upon something incriminating in my phone while using it.
EDIT: It doesn't not hide the apps, it hides the things in the apps. So for example: I could still send sms without seeing every other sms I have on my phone.
I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for but it's the closest I could find. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.domobile.applock
