if that was the cause of it. what do you recommend about this recovery and the other one? is it 4EXT Recovery v2.2.7 RC3 the lastes version of that recovery?

Downloading clockworkmod in the market should fix the problem. it's what I did.
p.s- make sure you flash through the app.

I don't think 4ext Recovery is a problem.....i have this recovery, since i have tried ARHD,
i don't like instable rom, so I'm whit energy rom right now (everything working just perfect, fast and stable, sense 3.5)
But i'm keeping ext4 just the best recovery out there, on my opinion

how did you fix it? Im stuck too. All I did was update Rom manager and CW. I then tried to restore a backup. Still stuck at HTC white screen. Pulled a battery and nothing
i'm guessing your rooted...?? Well from hboot select recovery and it should bring u to CWM recovery and from there just mount your sd card and load a new rom on and wipe EVERYTHING and flash it...you should be good

I'm having the same problem from the above post there were two cwm updates today... Plus an update to rom manager... Me thinks there be a problem with one of them on some roms... I can't load ANY sense roms right now though AOSP work just fine...

Thats really stupid. Had I known, I wouldnt have bothered updating. I dont see any difference except the fact I cant restore my old back ups.
Yep, same happened here. I was able to reload the fresh rom (in my case, SHIFTS3NS3 1.3), and I downgraded the CW to the prior version. But still cannot restore the latest, probably because it was created with latest release of CW. Going to try another previous restore that I know was created with the previous CW. If the latest CW is the problem, it should be removed!
Hi, I am trying to install the Revolution HD ROM...it says to install 4EXT recovery. I downloaded the updater and installed the program on the phone. However, when I boot into recovery (volume down/power), it stills boot into clockwork recovery.
Can I flash that ROM from that? or should it show 4EXT recovery? Do I have to uninstall Clockwork or something?
Sounds like you forgot to flash the recovery.

It's smooth as butter, I love the fact that you have more control over what you are backing up, ie not backing up Davik or cache, saves room and time, faster backup and restore than CWM and it has themes. Stability. I've been using it since it's first release, it was the first Touch Recovery.
Oh...sorry for being dumb...but how would you flash the 4EXT recovery? I couldn't really find a clear guide to install it...I just downloaded the apk file as instructed and then install the program from the app....I haven't seen anywhere about flashing the 4EXT.
Appreciate your help!

Easy, just open up the 4ext app that you downloaded and click online install, make sure you have internet and just follow the on screen directions.

Open the app, there should be an option for installing recovery. I am on paid app so I am not certain where it's located in the free version. Should be up at the top I would think.
You can flash without 4Ext but with 4Ext it's better and have more options, like instaling diferent kernels and Sony Bravia engines. You will like 4Ext better once you have it.

Hi there,
I've been flashing roms for more than one year now and never had a problem before (I never did a Nandroid backup )
I was using the Virtuous Inquisomething for the past month but I decided to try the Quattro version. Finding it too laggy, I decided to go back to the Inquisi... But problem, after flashing it, my phone keebs rebooting... Htc logo, shows the V logo (sometimes doesn't), black out, then restarts again. I tried different roms, HD Revolution, Light Rom, even the Quattro that I had before but my phone keeps rebooting. I flashed the Firmware to the 3.30, same thing. I wiped the dalvik cache, the cache and everything I could wipe but I have the same problem !
I tried to flash an original file, a Ruu but my computer can't find my phone because I can only access the ToggleUSB via the recovery
Do you guys know how to fix this? Anyone has a Nandroid Backup that I can use? (Tmobile - Sensation 4G? )
Thank you in advance
Curiously, have you ever superwiped your Sensation while doing all these flashes? There might be some residual files here and there that's just causing chaos inside the phone. D:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849 Here's the link for ARHD's original thread which has the superwipe down toward the bottom of the first post under "Downloads" and you just flash it like any other file through the 4EXT touch recovery (if you're using that!).
Flash latest firmware.
Download and flash latest ARHD Rom.
Problem solved let me know if anything goes wrong

I see that you only updated to 3.30 firmware. Try updating to the final firmware 3.32 and superwipe before flashing a new rom.

Well, tell us what happens.....bootloops?
Are you S Off?
Also, you should full wipe, or deleting all partitions in 4ext recovery, but not SD card of course. If you don't have 4ext, then you need it.
boot loops, yes that is what happening ((
i phone is s-off and i made full wipe.
i used clockworkmode.
i didn't try 4ext.

Well, I figured since he already has firmware 3.32, missing 4ext could cause trouble. After all, remember that ARHD only works on 4ext? Even mike wrote in the OP 4ext is crucial for his ROM.
Anyway, here's a link for 4ext, download the attachment. Even if it's not the issue, 4ext is still better

Follow steps 2 & 3 from this guide.
Format all partitions except SD Card in 4ext recovery. (needed because you are moving to Sense 4.0)
Re-flash the ROM.
If still bootlooping, follow step Extra 1 from here.

Hi everyone, I have S-on still, I am wondering if I can pull the boot.img from a kernel of a rom and move somewhere to my sdcard if I wanted to flash a rom that doesnt have this built in to it...the reason I am asking is because alot of downtime at work and sometimes I want to tinker with other roms, but since I have hboot 1.27 most of the roms need the boot.img pushed, and I cant install software to do this on my work computer....If it can be done on the phone by using ES file explorer or something similar, can someone guid me on where to put the boot.img...i believe on the root of sd?....just curious here....thanks much...Larry

if you use 4ext recovery with s-on smart flash enabled it will flash the bootimg after it installs the rom i believe, so no need to manually flash the boot img. is this what you mean?

Yes.. Wait for 10 minutes max.. If it's not booting then.. You need to flash boot.img of the rom seperately from fastboot but that process requires pc access.. Or try this.. If not booted.. Go to recovery again.. Then enable smartflash again and immediately flash the rom.. Without doing any wipe.. This might work

are you 100% sure smart flash is enabled? when you flash some roms like arhd it flashes a new 4ext as well i think.
if you do then im not 100% sure on how to proceed. have you thought about just going full s-off? once you have it you dont need to flash the bootimg afterwards

Then flash elegancia again with default wipe option within recovery everything except sd card reboot and wait

This is normal for Smart Flash, the device will boot to the splash screen then flash the boot.I mg then reboot again but all the way nto the ROM on the second reboot. Also I know you can flash splashscreens and recoveries via Terminal Emulator but I am not sure about the boot.img. From what I am do know about Android I am thinking you probably can not but it is worth a Google search.
Ok, so I downloaded the Elegancia Pegasus, I went into 4ext recovery, did a super wipe, turned on smart flash, installed the rom zip, did not reboot but enabled smart flash again, and then installed the rom again..(reason for this was I was thinking maybe it installed a new 4ext)..I really dont think it did though, but still stuck at the white htc screen...I may have to just do this from a computer...weird thing is that Elegancia sense 4.x 3.1.0 flashes just fine, but i imagine thats because that Boot.img is not getting written over by the pegasus one..any other ideas?...the ext recovery I am using is the stable most current release btw..thanks everyone...Dirtylarry

indeed, but he can do that at home with His pc then he will be able to flash any rom he likes without the need of smartflash. thus solving his problem and allowing him to flash roms at work when he has some spare time allowing he already has the roms with him, or he can still download
