Hi peeps
I have bought a thr33 Galaxy ace. Ive used an unlock code so i can use any sim but im wanting to update and remove the stock branding if its possible. Ive spoke to another guy who said to use titanium. So ive rooted the phone and used titanium to remove all s/ware i can see as apps on the phone but i still have the thr33 logo on start up which i want rid of and id like to install a newer f/ware. After rooting ive tried to update thru Kies with official f/ware but the phone loses its usb connection when trying to update.
Phone details as it stands :
f/ware : 2.2.1
Baseband : S5830NEKA3
Kernel : 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1
Build : FROYO.XWKAB
Its is rooted.
Ive got some iphone JB experience and i can follow instruction no problem so if anyone can just point me in the right direction as to solve my problem id be very grateful.
Thanx in advance
it would be better if u post it galaxy ace gt-s5830 forum

Hi
I have read a lot about rooting samsung galaxy s2 but am not able to figure out how to actually root it. I mean I saw the videos and tutes for the process and it looks very simple but am not able to find which .tar file to use for the CF root.
Its a bit confusing and I would like to know if some1 can help me with my problem. I also went through the forum and found that ppl had problems with rooting i9100T. Does CF Root actually work for these models or its just a trial n error thing.
My phone details are:
model no. GT I9100T
Baseband : I9100TDUKF4
Kernel: [email protected]#2

I'm also in the same situation with a GT-I9100T
My phone details are as follows:
Model: GT-I9100T
Android: 2.3.6
Baseband: I9100TDCKL1
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100TDCKL2-CL767350 [email protected]#2
Build: GINGERBREAD.DCKL2
Can anyone shed any light on root for this model please?
My suggestion would be to CF-Root using this file: http://download.chainfire.eu/35/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KH1-v4.1-CWM4.zip
At least the KH1 is the same as yours...
I have i9100T also but I required KL2 and there is none.
I used KL3 instead and everything worked fine for me.
Best of luck and hopefully yours will be my first thanks! : )

also KH isn't that different to KF?
hi to all from a very wet north wales.
we have a problem. just bought a galaxy s2 and wanted to root it so that we can unlock it and then change network provider.
we followed the instructions found elsewhere on this site but the phone does not reboot after using odin3.
could this be because we accidentally tried to load up the wrong kernel? we have tried to locate a copy of the correct one but cannot find one. Should/could a generic kernel work and if so could someone please indicate where to find it
details:
galaxy s 2 gt 19100
original kernal version 3.0.15-19100 XWLET
ANDROID VERSION 4.0.4
odin3 version 1.85
superoneclick vers 2.2
failed kernel was XWKDD
ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY GRATEFULLY RECEIVED

I think you have installed a wrong kernel.
This page has the last kernels for Galaxy SII. Its a spanish forum.

Solved: I managed to root 2.3.6 incredibly easy after finding this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253707
============================================================
Hello, I've searched posts on here and google to little avail.
I upgraded firmware on my i9001 from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6
However 2.3.6 won't work with superoneclick, z4root etc and seems a hard one to root.
If anyone could provide a way to root it without too much trouble, I'd be most appreciative
I'm stuck with bloatware again at the moment and an annoying number of apps trying to run in the background causing slowdown.
Info:
Model: Samsung Galaxy S plus
Firmware: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: I9001 BUKP7
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.BUKP7
I have the solution plz wait till i return from school and i give you the link to flash Root in your galaxy S+ already tested in my friend phone

Hi,
Yes there is a CM 9/10 for the phone. I have actually installed CM9 on my phone. I wouldn't advise using CM10 yet because some bugs are still being worked out but i'm not discouraging you from trying =). To install it here are the instructions:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730954
That website has everything you need. Also if anything goes wrong there is a method to restore the original firmware. If you need any more help reply and i'll help out =)
Best of Luck!
hahahaha to lazy to search
argh. here is the method ur about to request/Q.1 answer : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21953587&postcount=1
Q.1 follow the link that i gave it to you and it will give you not just root but a kernel and BML roms installation guide
Q.2 installing CWM to latest? ahm idunno about it? "I" its possible but twrp is possible ..
Q.3 we dont have stable cyanoge. but barebone i (think that is the name) a gingerbread BML? roms that, that is stable..
And if you're worried about it since it's not your phone, you can at least get to official GB through Kies without voiding the warranty... if you're doing stuff from here you can be sure that the warranty is shot. The Kies one you get straight from T-Mo or Samsung, so if it hoses (and the phone is still under replacement protection) they should cover it. Here... it's more complicated.
the TRUTH is im AFRAID to MOD her phone because its not mine and i dont know what correct files
should i use please help me guys!!
The other option is to have someone do it for you. I soft bricked my phone so I sent it to MobileTechVideos. They fixed it and installed a new ROM for me. Rooting and ROM service is $30. The repair service + new ROM is $60. Make certain that you specify which ROM version you want. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer. Good luck.
I would also wonder does your aunt need a special ROM on the phone? Is this her first smart phone? If so I would just root it and remove all the bloat apps with titanium backup and the phone would be tip top with amazing battery life. Find out what she needs in a phone before installing the ROMs because some features may not work.
I would check for software updates as well because it should be at 2.3 so you can just run it rooted with 2.3 and its a great phone. I ran it like that for quite awhile.

thanks for those who replied i just updated her phone to 2.3 and rooted it plus i removed the bloated apps (just like i did when i got my 1st smart phone hehe!)
I would first like to start by saying i have searched everywhere on the forums for several hours trying to find my answer with no luck. so if the answer is indeed out there please point me in its direction.
I currently have a clean ESN on my non-active SPH-D710 Sprint Galaxy S2, rooted, and romed with build number "RUJELUS22 The Blu Kuban GB27 2.0.0.5" Software version"GB27" Android Version 4.1.2, Kernal version 3.0.74+
I am currently using my active SPH-M820-BST, Android Version 2.3.6, Kernel Version 2.6.35.7, GINGERBREAD.FF19 Build number. Hardware Ver.M820.07. through Boost Mobile. (Samsung Prevail)
A friend of mine romed, and rooted the GS2 for me, but is no longer around to help, or teach me how to finish the project, i am very new at this, but know my way around the PC, Ive tried the very first step (or so i assume) to retrieve the GS2 MSL through Terminal Emulator // Connect Bot with "getprop ril.MSL", the command runs, but doesnt show the needed info. ive been trying to find a way to Flash this Boost over to this Sprint phone for weeks. I'm asking as well as apologizing if this has already been solved. I desperately need help with this. Please, and Thank You for your time.
Cool, thanks everyone, now i know why i dont use this website
You still need help
