I am going to be putting together a flash for a P999 version of the just released P990 2.3.4 rom with LG UI. I need a few guinea pigs willing to try out the flash and see if their phones boot up and to tell me what is not working. If you are interested please PM me your email address so I can send you a download link. I will not publicly post it until I know it at least boots. It most likely will be a day or two until it is ready to be flashed.

Yes, you should be able to go into recovery as long as you installed CWM Recovery using the NVFlash method and NOT Rom Manager. You could then restore a backup. I always suggest making a current backup before flashing any rom to your phone just in case ...
Being rooted doesn't matter as I will pre-root the new rom. The only thing that matters is that CWM Recovery is installed on the physical recovery partition on the device.
Got about three or four guineas already. You are welcome to join. I will be putting the first attempt together tomorrow. It is almost 3 a.m. in the morning where I live (ICT timezone).
excited for this, I like having a custom UI, so this will be neat... I wish I could test for you, but waiting on a call. Very glad to hear you have some testers and are putting forth effort to this rom for us.

We don't have the capability to change the baseband. It is not possible to do by flashing a rom on this device. This will be stock LG 2.3.4 with LG UI and colorization by LG.

ok. will it have tmo wifi calling? or you have to flash it individually like in the lg-95 case?
Version 1, which is uploading right now, won't have WiFi calling. Once I found out the rom boots and works I will make a flashable zip so TMO people can just add it to the rom.
Everyone who PM'd me. You will get a PM soon with download link. Please keep it private and do not post the link in any forum or website. I want to make sure it works before making download links public.
Based on what I saw in the rom I believe version 1 should boot and work. The rom was almost identical to the P999 rom except for apps, UI skinning, etc. I did an MD5 on some files and they were the same.
Upload should be done in 30 minutes.
No more testers please. I have enough for now. Thanks to everyone who PM'd me.

After seeing multiple threads about CWM, I decided to put this up in hopes that we don't clutter the development area with the same topic.
As of right now CWM is not working for our device. We have to wait for the developer to update CWM to be compatible with our device. Yes you can still install it and boot into recovery, however, not all the options will work. And some users have reported that it screwed up their phone somehow. You can try it but you might be risking damage to your phone. Everyone just be patient CWM will be on our devices soon. Team Whiskey has already stated that they have some ROMS up and ready for our device to be installed once we get CWM.

If any of the senior members think that this will affect CWM dev let me know. i have insurance on the phone but i dont really want to run it over with my car to get a relacement lol. ive had the phone about a week so i guess i could still exchange it, but i cant really think of a good reason to tell the folks at T-mobile why i need an exchange. hook me up this way i can just send koush an unopened/unmolested 4g if needed.

Well title says it all, im doing a blind build and i got one person testing for me but i think it'll be faster for all to just get a few more on board. If you want to help hit me up on here. First 3 will be taken if they meet the following criteria's
Needed from testers:
1. Must know how to Odin back to stock (aka if you soft brick you can get back to stock) the current build loads up just fine.
2. Must have efs backup ( you never know when flashing)
3. Must know how to do logcat ( adb logcat > logcat.txt)
4. Lastly, actually want to to test long term, like with updates and stuff I put into it.
Of course the people who decide to test I ask don't leak anything til it's ready
I have 3 roms for the SGS4G, 1 for the LG and well working on this one so I know what I am doing If you do decide to help I will have an update rom this weekend unless you want to test current build.
Well let the fun begin!
I know I posted really late and not alot of people have seen it but if you guys don't want me to try its cool just let the mods know to close this.

Well the time has come!!
We have ICS for the AT&T model. Here is the info about it. More to come
1. Yes, it is ICS from a leak on one of the servers, thank you cheesecake
2. Huge thanks to leifemagnuson, he gets the credit for finding this, but asked me to take it over.
3. huge thanks to jimbridgman for tearing this apart and generally being awesome at everything
4. Once applying, you can downgrade to GB by FXZ just as before.
5. Jim is making us a flashable zip with the update that includes root.
6. anyone can install that as long as they are totally stock 2.3.6
7. I will build a simple rom based off it, and then maybe more later.
8. Yes, the bootloader is still locked in this
I will add links and stuff later hen we get things under control.
GREAT NEWS! Can't wait for the zip!! Love all ya guys!!!
Thanks a lot to all of you for the time and work you put on this, this is the kind of stuff that makes me proud to be a member of this forum and push me every day to contribute with anything I can.

Things I have learned with this update.
1) You MUST be 100% stock, with root before attempting the update, and even then, just wait and do the rooting after the ICS update.
the reason is because the update even checks the sum for the logcat program, which we use to hijack boot for the CWM recovery. I was completely stock 2.3.6 with bootstrap CWM on boot and root, and it would still not update.
2) Use RSDlite for the stock restore, as any scripts tend to do something funny when restoring boot, the ONLY way I got the update to take was to use RSDlite. I tried my scripts and I also tried a few others and it still did not work.
3) As has already been reported, cheesecake does not work on ICS, so you are pretty much stuck here.
4) Do not try to download the update and flash with CWM! Sorry but it will not work, it must be done with the stock recovery.
I am sure there is more, and time comes I will add to this.
Does it have any special features? Anything different from the usual, don't know if you could write a changelog. Sorry if it's too much.

The biggest thing is he now has a base. I sent Scott our system dump and boot.img files and he put something together, and while he couldn't test it, I did at the risk of bricking my phone so we can all have a clean base for ROMS. You're welcome

There are zero advantages to the "average" person. None at all...
Unless you fall into these categories...
1. Screwed your phone up and half the things just don't work right because you "read something on the internet to make your phone (battery last longer, speed it up, random useless failed feature here)" and it didint quite go the way you expected it to and you cannot send TXT messages (just a random made up example). This would be a great way to fix that...
2. You flashed "Dev A's" ROM and you realized that the color (random color here) is not for you and you are about to go insane but are on the road so you can just flash this back to get back to a stock look.
3. You want to build your own ROM for personal use and you really dont know where to begin but you know what apps you DONT want in the phone. Yo could use this base to get started.
4. Your another Dev that doesnt have the experience of setting up a stock rooted ROM and may need to use this base to get started. Many people use my stock rooted ROMS across a MULTITUDE of devices because they trust that they are as close to perfect in all aspects as possible. (I was a newb once too and needed to use other stock roots).
If you dont fit into those categories... Then this rom has no value to you.
@scrosler
Will you be supporting the Sprint version of the LG G2 with ClearnROM when it comes out?
I know you're busy and all and I'm not trying to rush you or anything but how's the clean ROM for T-Mobile coming along ? :fingers-crossed:
