lte network down? - Thunderbolt General

Im just north of NYC and lost my 3g coverage, did a reboot and still nothing. I just switched to the old 3g and I have data again. Can anyone confirm if lte is down in any areas?

I'm in NYC and on 3G... my speeds are pathetic right now. 0.18 Mbps down and 0.12 Mbps up...
On top of that, my battery is draining fast

I can't even catch 3g inside my building like I used to with my incredible. Antenna must be weaker or some ****

You using the stock battery cover or one from another manufacture? It's known that some non-OEM battery covers don't give the best connection to the antenna in the cover.

I am in Florida and I got no network. Just love it. I tend to wonder how good could LTE be once they complete their last wave of phones after the year. Its always up and down.

I haven't done a speed test in a few days since i been busy playing with my SGS2, but here's a screenshot of a few of my results.
At work, I get about 10/5. Unfortunately, it's the only place I have consistent 4G signal ATM. http://twitpic.com/51lrt9

Not the best speeds :-(

No idea, but according to the bars on my phone it does. Maybe I have a metal plate in my head that I don't know about...
Here's mine from a week or so ago.

sighs..im still waiting for lte in memphis. ive been on it once for about 20 seconds, lol. I'll have the same response as you whenever vzw decides memphis is ready. Its in Cleveland,TN already. i hope the 20k that live there are happy :/
Yeah buddy, I dig on the speed.
LTE speeds in Metro Detroit (Especially around Roseville, where I live) seem to be insanely good. Actually all phone data does seem to be good here, as my iPhone 4 on AT&T used to get around 5-7mbps in Roseville, but 2mbps elsewhere if I was lucky.
According to speakeasy I've get around 25-38mbps in Roseville, depending on time of day.

Al least you posted in the right section!
when i was driving to go on vacation i passed threw denver and it was awesome was way faster, i know where i live wont have 4g for a looong time same with where im moving soon
I am in Minnesota enjoying the LTE for the moment. I actually forgot I was tethering and ran through about 16GB of data today. Good thing I got this phone a couple of days ago, I would be absolutely screwed with tiered data.
Also, I almost crapped myself when I ran this:

1x instead of H or 3G?

Today I randomly saw 1x instead of H or 3G. Any body know what that means?? I went to the settings and under phone status and stuff it said the mobile network is unknown. My data still seems fairly fast. Anybody else ever see this? I'll try to upload a screen shot later

Which rom are you using?
I've had this happen to me before on a CM flash. Sometimes it could just be a bad flash that caused your phone to think it is a CDMA device so it is showing CDMA bars.
I'm on CM7, weird thing is, it started flip flopping between H and 1x. But it looks like it stopped now

1x, aka G, is the old, OLD cell phone internet from the 1990s. I've only ever seen it in rural areas and it is mind blowingly slow; speedtest came up with 9 kbps download speed. That is not a typo. It couldn't even get a rating on upload.
1X is slow CDMA internet. Never was on GSM systems. GSM slow internet was called WAP.

Here's a screen shot from when it was happening. Like I said I'm just confused haha it wasn't slow though. I was pulling about 1.5 Mbps down so I don't think it was G.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
That's weird as ****... 1x is totally CDMA tech. Not sure why it would ever show up on your phone. I guess if you are still getting your 3G speeds, it's not a big deal. Totally interesting though.

Badly programmed custom rom?

LTE turned on in Sacramento. Post your speeds/ROM/settings

Stock CM10 here with no settings tweaked. I was getting 16Mbps yesterday and am fluctuating between 12Mb and 46Mb today. (not sure what radio)
My phone's data connection is now quicker than my home and work combined :^\
Killer speeds in Roseville. Stock 2.20 rooted and debloated.

I wonder what these speeds look like in a week or so when all the LTE iPhones are in users' hands....
I wanna see that too I don't think it will have a big effect but that's just my opinion because most iOS users I know don't use their devices like I do I think it will have a big impact in San Fransisco every time I go out there all I see is I phones and iPad everywhere what's weird is I get about 10-15 download speeds when I'm I sf but from Oakland to Vallejo I get 30

,,,,,They can't even get 1X and 3G right here on Staten Island............
That being said, I've felt some improvement in some area's throughout this whole AWS buildout
But it's not NEARLY enough.....
God help them if this is how VoLTE is gonna go

I am sure that is the new XLTE. It's been in parts of Chicago, New York and LA on the Droids since the November OTA update, when the AWS bands were activated with a radio firmware update. 50/25 is much better than most people see on the old 700 Mhz LTE.
anyone know when upstate SC is gonna get xLTE? as a side-note when Seneca/Clemson got 4G LTE, (literally the day of) I was getting 24-28 mps down according to speed test. Now It is half of that (traffic). It was literally ridiculous how blazing fast it was.
