[Q] How to enlarge Notes fields in People/Address book. - HTC Sensation

Hello,
How do you make the Notes fields bigger in HTC Sensation People app? It only shows 1.5 lines. It is very inconvenient to scroll if I have 10 lines of text in the Notes field. TQ
HTC's people in Android 2.1 didn't have this problem.
Update: I found CONTACT EDITOR (by dmfs) in the Android Market. Its UI not that nice but I'll live with it after getting used to it. NOTES field is big enough and it can do landscape typing. I am happy now.

Alphabet Slider in Music App

Hi,
i am a bit displeased with the HTC Music App for a single reason.
I do have a lot of interprets in my library. If i want to select an interpret at the end of the displayed list, i have to start a sliding orgy to get to the end of the list.
I wonder if there is a chance to get an 'Alphabet Silder' to the right like in the Contacts list of the Phone?
Greetings
Volker

Keep wondering It is a miracle HTC hasn't implemented this kind of functionality in the music library, while they had a similar module for the contact list.
And i think that it can not be easily hacked in afterwards. Anyway, you can kick up your orgy experience (lol) a notch with a little tweak from the "leo hints and tips" thread:
51. speed Up Scrolling of Internet and People Tab, Album Page and All People PageS
You can speed up the speed of scrolling when you flick your finger by modifying the following registry tweak.
HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/HTCScroll/velocity_factor
Change to 20000 or higher. Experiment to what suits you.

thanks mate you are the best!!!
And how make real .gif smiles in incoming SMS messages (like in this forum ?) is it could setting in *.xml or in *.dll files?
I think that it possible, because web links and digits are underline in incoming messages, so it could be the clue to make decision.
Any ideas?
P.S. pls do not tell about any third-party soft like "smileySMS" or smth.
WHere is page 2?
Tap number button and you'll see 1/2 tap that and it will take you the symbol page...It's not like iphone emoji though.
*bump*
anyone who knows how to do this? I found some apps but they send the actual graphic.. I only want my phone to recognize a ':)' and display it as a graphic (png/gif) in my messages. I only know how to do this in .php, ans there it is no problem at all, so why should it be on winmo/sense??
(good user interface for editing smileys and text to project them, such in live messenger for PC would be awesome!)
thanks

[Q] Desire S text select bug?

I've had the Desire S for a month now (but currently being repaired after non-boot; irrelevant to this I think?). I notice since the first day that the text select magnifier doesn't work perfectly particularly when trying to select text on the top row. The magnifier is hidden behind my finger and doesn't reposition in the same way it does if I select text from lower down, presumably because there is space for the box to exist. Is this everyone else's experience?
Also I find that sometimes when dragging my finger around to find the end of the word I want to drop the cursor, when moving between lines, the cursor line gets lost.
I have to say I prefer the native Android text select with the big blocks for this reason.
Yep I too have found that the text selecting tool is a little buggy
As you say putting the cursor on the to line is and sometimes the start and end of lines is difficult.
Allough I've found that with practice it gets easier to use.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
It is somewhat not thought through....I've noticed this when writing e-mail (the text starts right on the top of the screen...) but it can be easily avoided by sliding the whole window down, so you can see the addresses to send the e-mail to...it is just fine when writing SMS... I'm on 1.28.401.1 here in CZ
Not just me then. Does an App exist that restores the default Android text tools? I know there's something which removes the Sense keyboard...

There are several Sense keyboard replacements, I use Swype, yet the text selection from Sense is still there....

How to zoom/magnify contact phone numbers

Hello
Since sensation has high resolutions screen contact number fonts in contact list is very small. It is very difficult to read after 40 years of age
This is one of the basic function of this device. It is very difficult to see without to magnifier. Pinch to zoom works elsewhere but not here.
Could you tell me a way to see text in contacs program without carrying magnifier in my pocket
Thanks
Have you tried installing a different font?
Maybe you need to change you glassess. My common sense saying you are wearing glasses
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
It looks like htc has forgatten to announce that People over 40 needs to buy glasses together with sensation even if they dont need normally
System font shange affects many things. It changes design completely I think
That is why I am looking for another solution
HTC keeps forgetting that not everyone has perfect eyesight, I have trouble reading many HTC applications and widgets. Most annoying to me was/is* the Calendar app: Appointment details usually span less than 35% of the screen, and you can't zoom in. Contacts are also an issue, but I usually tap phone and start typing the name on the numeric keypad, I keep typing until one name is left, which I then tap to call / send message / ..
I am happy with the SMS Application and Mail application though - pinch-to-zoom works on both now (Previously it would only work on Mail I believe).
*: I use Simple Calendar Widget by Alex Gavrishev, which is fully customizable.
you forgot incoming calls as well ...
font is just wayyyyyy too small !!! HTC expects all of my contacts to have PICTURES

Yes, You absoultely right
For example, When driving, or doing something else It is impossible to see phone numbers during incoming calls
This is a phone and We should see contact names and phone number easily and clearly. This is highest priority I think

I'm just wondering if someone can elaborate on this a little bit and let us know how to fix this. I don't seem to have the productivity toolbar or haven't found where to select it. Specifically I can't do the handwriting recognition.
Thanks
The first icon enables or disables edit.
Next to this, in fact to the right of it, is a group of 4 icons.
The first is the drawing icon, next is the icon that you're looking for.
By double tapping it you can change between various features including formula, shape and text recognition.
Maybe this is common knowledge but I just discovered today that different templates have different functions embedded in them that apparently aren't available in other templates, e.g. long pressing on the contacts field in the meeting template allows you to bring up your contacts, you can also bring up a change date window in the date field etc.
In the diary you can change the weather icon types, in travel you can open maps app and import a clipping of an area and so on. It's very disappointing that you cannot seem to insert/use these fields in every note. The functions you want don't appear to be in a memo based note but are in others.

Agreed. This seems like quite an oversight on Samsung's part. You should be able to use all of the functionality regardless of the template. This took me a while to figure out until I watched their videos over again and picked up on this.

Same issue here. You have to pick a template to suit what you want to create. Its quite confusing. There also seems to be little documentation about what template has what tool.I can understand the floating note pad not having all tools but everything in the full snote app should have them. Maybe a tools toggle button to turn on and off what you want in the tool bar would make even more sense.
But i still enjoy the device

Hi. Pls let me know if you ever found out if the memo template has the productivity tools icon. I also can't find it.
productivity tools
To reach the handwriting to text, click on the productivity tools twice or hover over the button with your s pen and click once (looks like the shape button) a drop down menu will show up with the handwriting to text on the last options. Hopes this helps :fingers-crossed:
HI all
I have note 10.1 2014, and the snote does not have productivity tool icon in any template I have tried. Can someone help me?
