[Q] Whatsapp Contact - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my HTC Titan today and downloaded Whatsapp. In favourite panel I only had 3 of my friend contact out of 20 of them. Couldn't find any refresh button, i had all of their contact number on my phone. Whenever they send a message to me their name appeared on the notification bar but in whatsapp is only their number. Can't save it too. And when I search them in "All" panel, click on their number and it direct me to send a text to my friend inviting them to Whatsapp.
I found a way to get all of them in my favourite by uninstalling the apps and reinstall it back.
Questions:
1) How can I refresh my contact list in favourite without reinstalling the app?
2) How can I save their number from Whatsapp?
ps: Mind my bad English grammar. =D

sms notification

hello!
I've just bought an htc touch 2 and it is my first poket pc, I'm new of this "world" and I'm a bit confused with the new gadget but really happy.
I'd like to know if exist a program for sms notification, every time I send messages I'm not sure if It really works and I always have to go to the outbox folder. Maybe I need to change HD TWEAK on the windows mobile options?
please help me with any suggestion.
thank you!!
Open your sms message box, menu => Extra => Options.
Now click on (touch) the sms account in the list. The first option will allow you to get receipt confirmations.

[Q] Help wit the HCT Desire

HI All,
First post so bare with me.
I have the new HCT desire, and would like some help from you all.
First, how do you turn predictive text off for good?
Second, how do you get your contacts to be in first name order?
Lastly, How do you get rid off all the Facebook contacts, I just want my sim card contacts to show!
Thanks Ruso
1. Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch input > Text input > toggle off "Prediction". But I would suggest you learn to trust the text prediction, because it is indeed pretty incredible.
2. By default, the contacts list is already sorted by First name. Anyway, you can't change the way the list is sorted unfortunately. I find that the best way to find a contact is to not scroll for it. You should press the search key and just type in the first few characters of the contact's name.
3. If you didn't want your Facebook contacts to show up, you shouldn't have synced your Facebook contacts in the first place. Or, while in the contacts list, press Menu > View > toggle off "Facebook for HTC Sense"
Thank you! I have sorted out the Facebook issue now.
I have never liked predictive text messaging! I have done what you said, but still need to turn it off every time I go to type a message, any more suggestions?

Noob question on WP7

1) When I tried to make a phone call, I click on Contact - except that I see a big list of people imported from all over the place, even some has no telephone attached to it. I can filter out by source, but is it possible to make it so that when you are making a call, only contact with telephone is shown?
Now I have Exchange and facebook contact list. Facebook usually does not have a phone associated. If I include both then when I am making a call I have a rather huge list to go through. If I exclude facebook then I cannot see them in the "Picture" app. The contact filter seems to be global.
2) Is there anyway to check out other region's marketplace, or apps in Chinese in general (without the name of the app).
3) Is there a way to show the status permanently. My area has weak cell phone coverage so when I want to make a call, I want to make sure there is 2 bars at that location. It is annoying to click something just to see this info when every other phone does not need to.
4) There seems to be no way to adjust ring volume by itself, which is a total W T F when you considered my 15 years old Nokia can do that! .
1-in settings goto applications, then people click on filter my contact list then uncheck Facebook or any other accounts where the contacts may not have numbers, then uncheck only see posts from people in my contact list.
2-I'm always seeing apps in Chinese in the marketplace. as for filtering probably the only way to do so from the phone is to change the region settings. the web marketplace is a different story tho.

[Q] Ringtone assigned to individual contact does not work>

I apologize if this has been asked before - I spent hours googling this with no success.
I have a new Nexus 5 (4.4.2) and I'm still customizing it.
I would like to be able to assign a specific ringtone to an individual contact.
I know how to do it and tried it many times - no dice. No matter what ringtone I assign to a specific contact, the phone always rings with the default ringtone.
I use the stock People app and display Contacts from Microsoft. I did try it with Contacts from Gmail - it changed nothing when it came to the ringtone assignment.
Thank you.
Is the ringtone in MP3 format? I know Android can handle a few other formats natively but you're always safe with a compressed MP3

At this point, I tried it only with the ringtones that come with the phone.
I assign a particular one to a contact, i can see my selection sticks in the contact record, but it rings with the general default ringtone...
BUMP?
Anybody?!
I'm not used to having specific rigntones for my contacts but here is below what I did and it works. I have the stock People and Dialer apps.
1. In People app I choose a contact > Menu > Set ringtone > Multimedia storage > "X" ringtone > OK.
2. That's it.
All my contacts are sync with my GMail account. Did you try with several contacts? What happens if you try with a new contact?

I do the above and have had no issues assigning ringtones to contacts (I have two custom ones for my girlfriend and best mate)
Egg on my face
Well, aren't I a goose! I had a think about this and thus a revelation. I don't have Caller ID. In Canada this means that the provider actually goes to the trouble to strip ALL the information that comes down the line - yes, they are vicious here. Therfore, even if I'm called by somebody who IS in my Contacts, all I see is "Unknown".
My heartfelt apologies and thank you for trying to help.

Oh, no! I'm sorry for you. I suggest you email Google Support - I did and received an answer quickly, not that it solved my problem.
Go here: https://support.google.com/nexus/?hl=en#topic=3415518

Much luck and please come back here and let us know what happened.

Personalized ringtones of contacts

Hello everyone,
As a new user of this beautiful smartphone I come to ask a little help.
Indeed I try to apply for each contact a different ringtone in the directory, except that every time they call me it's the general ringtone that rings.
Do you have a solution ?
Did I forget to set something?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
PS: Sorry for the translation it's google translation.

I use Google Contacts and when I set a personal ringtone for a contact, it doesn't work. If i set a personalized ringtone for a contact using VIVO Contacts, it will work. Looks like VIVO Contacts supersedes Google Contacts. If you're trying to do this using VIVO Contacts and it doesn't work, perhaps contacting VIVO using Facebook messenger might help with a solution.

Thank you very much, it only works with the VIVO contact app. Too bad because it is ugly.
By cons can not we put the photos in front of the contacts?
Settings-Contacts-Copy Contacts-Copy from "[email protected]" account will bring all your contacts from Google into VIVO. All you have to do is edit ringtone using VIVO Contacts.
You can use personal photos for contacts using Google and VIVO Contacts independently. For VIVO Contacts just open the contact and touch the photo icon at top center. From there you'll see photo select options to choose your picture. Select photo and touch OK.
With Google Contacts, select the contact and touch the small pencil at the bottom right. touch the camera icon at top center and select photo options. After you select your photo, touch the check-mark at the top right.
