[Q] Looking for a GOOD Sensation case! - HTC Sensation

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a really good case, preferably something softish for the Sensation.
I had one from Rearth for my Nexus S http://www.rearthusa.com/Nexus-S_c_109.html
and it was awesome.
It was soft but had a nice texture on the outside that didn't stick to your pockets when you pulled it out, the ports were easily accessible and the buttons were still very easy to press.
If anyone knows of anything similar to this it'd be much appreciated.
Thanks

Looking for a good one too..
anybody?

I know you're looking at a soft case, but for those in the market for piece of mind and security, the otterbox is phenomenal. I got mine about a week ago, and, albeit makes the phone a touch chunkier, I'm not worried about it falling or anything.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE Z715e

Thanks for the tip, but yeah I've had a Otterbox case in the past, and I agree it makes your phone a tank, it's way too thick for me.

I just ordered the Seidio Active Case with kickstand after hearing great things about the active case line overall. Should be sitting in my mailbox when I get home tonight

following is mine case, nice enough for me and it is anti-glare case.not a fingerprint maker,i dont like fingerprint maker case.the free screen protector rubbish.free pouch very very good.
ebay Item number: 150681867354

I bought one from Capdase. I love it and all the holes are complete not like that of the Otterbox. I really wanted Otterbox 'cause of its protection but this case does the job just the same.

Oh and btw, it secures the volume rocker and power button as well.
*sorry I can't post links yet cause Im just a new member.

Of the 15 or so cases I've tried, this is easily my favorite:

I actually saw that case. Are the buttons easy to press and the ports easy to access?
Because the case I have now is a similar material and the USB port makes charging difficult.

Hey, what did you mean by all the holes are complete and how much did you end up paying for it?

http://www.amazon.com/Original-Trid...U3L0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320160614&sr=8-1
^ Good protection and not too intrusive
http://www.amazon.com/Otterbox-Comm...TRN8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320160752&sr=8-1
^ Semi-tank but slightly better protection than above
I like (and have) the 1st one (Trident) and recommend it
Good luck either way

By the way this is the link of the case I am using.

If you inspect the back case of the sensation, there is a hole on top of the camera lens, a hole below the LED flash, the speaker grill and 2 small holes at the bottom (which are antennas I think).
I ended up paying 1200 pesos for it which is roughly $28. It has a free screen protector but I ended up not using it because it doesnt cover the whole screen. So I also have a Zagg Invisible Shield placed on the my screen only.
I have to say it's the perfect combination if you want to protect your phone from scratches without spending much.

I tried that link but it won't let me purchase from it. I read that the aluminum case interferes with the strength of the wifi signal. Have you experienced that yet?
What colour did you get? And how thick is it compared to other cases like the Otterbox?

Tight fit, looks good, minimal bulk, all holes are perfectly aligned and the hole for the micro usb is not too small. The ONLY thing that I don't like is the white / clear case yellowed over time. The black case did not (obviously).
I've tried similar cases by Nillkin, TPU-Cases and many cheaper cases bought from e-bay and Amazon.
Hope this helps.

Is it easy to remove? bc i find when I have a screen protector on, the tight cases always peels the screen protectors off.
And lastly, are all the buttons really easy to press still?

[Q] Good holster?

I've currently got the Defender but it's WAY too thick and the front bezel part is in the way too much.
In the past I've just used a basic slim TPU or similar case coupled with a vertical slide in holster. My problem has been finding a holster that is big enough to fit the phone with the slight bulk added by the cases I know of. Any thoughts?
I never drop my phones and they always look brand new when I sell them a year later, so the defender is way overkill for me...anyone interested in it because I'll be selling it when I find something new.

That looks pretty good, although it doesn't look like the camera portion is thick enough to protect the camera at all, even by a millimeter. Do you have one? Does it offer any protection at all?

Ok, so I got one anyway and the answer is NO, it doesn't protect the camera at all. The Camera bezel is perfectly flush with the case. That being said, it's the only real negative about it. It's SUPER easy to take off if you want to go naked for some reason, the holster works great and the case itself provides just enough grip and heft to make it easy to hang onto.
I'd say about a 8/10...
anyone want a lightly used Defender?
I use the Seidio Innocase but it might be too bulky for you as well :\
I'm searching for a holster/pouch/belt clip for my phone. It's not to protect the phone, but the headset instead. I always go around with the headset connected and eventually they go bad, possibly because my phone is always in my pocket and the cord gets alot of twisting. I'm now on my fourth headset since buying the phone last December, and think that to protect them better I need to wear the phone outside...
My phone already has a fishbone case, so the accessory has to be large enough to fit it. I also want the ports to be easily accessible, so the headset doesn't have to be disconnected when I take the phone out, and possibly so I can charge the battery on the go with my power bank. I've seen some possibilities, but they're typically too small to accompdate my existing case, or the clips come with cases themselves and probably wouldn't properly fit mine. So I'm seeking some advice to find a suitable clip/holster.

I'd have to disagree with the speck case. I bought one when I first got my phone. It protects from scratches. But the case iitself had scratches on it from day one. Small cracks in it by the power button and the charger. Thing falls apart so easily. Also it makes the phone feel huge in my hand. Almost tempted to use my g2x naked

I'm curious, you guys say you purchased them directly from t-mobile? Does anyone have a link?
Yesterday I found this case at wal-mart (of all places) and it actually looked good, so i picked it up and love it. It's a body glove, but for some reason i dont see it on their website and it doesnt look like any of the cases ive seen at the t-mo store...
I wonder if it's different than the ones you guys have
I definitely second the Body Glove case. I'm not sure why more people dont use it. I've used nothing but Body Glove cases for all my phones since the G1 and I've had the: G1, HTC HD2, HTC HD7, G2X
I've had nothing but good results with the Body Glove cases. They can be found on Ebay for as cheap as $12-$14 also.
I had great success with the body glove for the HTC Touch Pro 2. An awesome product.

The one I found in wal-mart is like half tpu and half rubber. It's only one piece altogether, but a small portion around the top edge is rubber so that the power and volume buttons are easily pushable (they feel fantastic! you feel it as if it were a real button) and then the lower parts of the case are tpu (i think).
On that back side there are some diagonal stripes but they're not so visible because it's black on black, but they come off the case just a little so it gives it a nice grip. On the inside of the case where your slip your phone in it is also rubbery, so it grips on the phone very well.
Besides this purchase I was using a standard tpu case from tpu-cases.com and a tpu fusion case from ebay. Neither of these cases did it for me, i was disappointed because the same tpu cases i had for mytouch 4g were a much better fit.
Anyway, this case is perfect for me, I love it! I can take pictures of it if you guys want, since i cant seem to find it online anywhere.

It pops off every time I've dropped it. But I like everything about it otherwise. The belt clip acts as portrait and landscape stand plus it acts as an anchor you can hug with your 2 middle fingers when holding it in landscape.

I believe they are taking them out of the walmarts the specific case, mine did....your walmarts should have other cases, I would expect you would have asked so maybe not.
I was able to do a site to store, I am not sure if that option is still working though http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Glove-TPU-Case-for-T-Mobile-G2X/16617184
I may like the standard T-Mobile sleeve more though, and those are going for 6-8 on ebay. I think the stock sleeve has a bit more protection for drops. If you don't mind a slightly large lip

Ballistic SG Case Review

FORM
Goods
The case is black all around with a dot matrix pattern on the back. While showing my friends this case most noted the rugged appearance of the case, but they never called it ugly. I’ve scratched and clawed at all parts of this case and there is no hint of paint falling off or rubber disintegrating etc.
Bads
On the four corners of the phone there is a “B” for Ballistic. I personally don’t like this branding but you only see it if you try. It’s kind of like a pentile screen, looks good until you see it.
Also, along the edges of the case there is a seam from the manufacturing process. The seam is slightly elevated and takes away from the one-ness of the device.
A side note, the volume cutout covers the Beats audio branding if that makes any difference.
(One last point, obviously this case is not as beautiful as the One X, not even close. But we aren’t all Sir Jony Ive, are we now.)
FUNCTION
Goods
Most importantly, the thickness of this case works well to protect the camera lens. Before having this case, I always gingerly set my device down hoping not to scratch the portruding camera. Now with the case there are about 3 mm of buffer space between the glass of the camera and the surface you set it on. What does this all mean? It means I never have to worry about setting my device down.
I can’t say for sure about the shock resistance this case provides, but that is mainly because the material the case is made of very grippy materials. I’m pretty sure the protection offered by this case is similar to an Otterbox Commuter series case. The hard shell plus gel seems to be a winning formula in case design and it’s no different here.
Don’t worry about all of the bulk around the device hindering ports or cameras. Pictures look great with the case, LED flash still has wide angle, headphones plug in fine (Koss PortaPros!!!), and charging ports fit fine.
Also, when placing the phone glass down, the rubber on the case keeps the phone form sliding and leaves buffer space to prevent scratching that beautiful High-def display.
Bads
A major drawback because of this full body wrap-around case is the protrusion into the glass. It’s a little difficult to get fingers onto the sides of the screen, but still fully functional. I use all normal Google apps, play games, and of course, use the XDA app among others and haven’t ran into an issue getting to the sides and corners of the screen.
The volume rocker is slightly flush for my preference, but I suppose if it was more vertical the case would be even bigger, so I can see the compromise here. Definitely works like a volume rocker should.
Wrap-Up
What’s the verdict? This case is a total buy if you are looking for a protector case. It adds heft for sure, but not to the point where one hand use is impossible, it’s just not the most comfortable. But then again, without this case on, who would dare to hold this phone in just one hand. Ballistic has earned two thumbs up.
BTW. Hit THANKS if you like my work.
good review, still waiting for mine.
Ballistic plus SGP screen protector is as good as its gets with a dry protector. You don't see the screen protector edge at the bottom, barely see it on the sides, and small spot at the top

Yeah, I ordered my screen protector, but it came a day too late. I accidently nicked my phone on a soda pop tab. Major Bummer. I'm planning on getting it switched at the ATT store, though.
Ya thanks man
Ya, so I got this case for my brothers HTC One X and I didn't how it covered the sides of the screen so i filed it down on the edges. I also didn't like that it covered the beats audio, so I dremeled out the hole. And I also debranded it with a file and some liquid rubber that I mixed with paint.

Great review, I ordered mine form Amazon for 20.00, I also went on ahead and ordered the Otterbox Defender Case as well, I plan to sell whatever one I don't like on ebay.

That's good news!!! I haven't dropped my HOX yet (fingers crossed), but good to know its a good case.
Ok,
Got this case today and my review is that it will definitely keep my phone safe if my kid drops or throws it.
However, it takes a sleek looking phone and makes it look like a brick.
The extra rubber on the corners is unnecessary and detracts from the phone.
I am going to try and pick up the commuter and compare.
It also makes the phone feel bigger and heavier in my hand with the added bulk.
Oh and one more thing, if you have an L shaped connector on your headset your wire will stick out 90 degrees from the phone because the rubber is so thick that it stops the plug going into the jack.
I had to slice mine down a little in order for my jack to be parallel with the phone to easily put in and out of a pocket...definite MINUS.
I agree with everything you said. Tell me what you think of the Commuter when you get it.

Spigen Neo Hybrid [METALLIZED BUTTONS]

Just received my Spigen Neo Hybrid case for the HTC One M9 and I honestly think this is one of the best phone case investments I've made. The metallic colored buttons for the power and volume buttons, is slightly offset from the case for easy pressing. It also looks GORGEOUS.
After using it for only a few days I've really come to love this case, I've used plain silicone cases before (it didn't add weight, just added grip), Otterbox's, and just a plain plastic cover. This case is great to show off and has perfect cutouts for the camera, flash, and even a hole for the noise-cancelling microphone.
I've noticed that the textured back plate provides a great amount of grip. It also shows reflects the antenna bands that the HTC One likes to boast. It has this cool looking top side cover design for the IR Blaster. In addition, it has a slight lip for the front of the screen in case of accidental drops on the screen itself. I myself had a few to drink and dropped it on its face, I picked it up and not a single scratch or scuff on the case.
All in all, I've thoroughly enjoyed and will continue to enjoy this case, uploaded some pictures in case anybody is in the M9 case market...

It is a very nice case in both function and looks. But if you use a holster it begins to wear along the edges all the way down to the white plastic, so keep that in mind if you are planning on buying this and a holster too.
I have the same case and I do agree, it is freaking gorgeous. Great thing it comes in all the colors an actual HTC One M9 comes in so I got the gold case for my silver/gold M9 and yeah, looks sick...

do the buttons rattle like the old neo-hybrid cases used to?
I have this one as well and love it, well except it seems like I need to open up the slot for the headphones, as my plug I use in my car it a bit large.
I have this case and it rocks and or rolls out of control awesomeness..second time buying this kind had it on my nexus 5 too
i almost bought one of these. got the rubberized clear one instead.
spigen does make some pretty nice products.
I have both. The one you have and the one without the plastic around it. I love both of them. Great cases!
love mine! felt cheap at first
I was actually really upset when i took it out of the packaging and felt the sudo metal clasp... but once I figured out how to properly put the case on the plastic rib thingy feels very sturdy. They did a good job with the case. Mine took a nice fall from ear height (about 6' 2") onto a parking lot and it hit the corner of the plastic band. Few dings but the band is still in one piece and help up surprisingly well since i figured that d be the first to "go" whether from wear, damage, etc.. It was a pain to take it off and I actually told myself (the first time I tried to take it off) that this is a case that's never coming off.. screw it.. but once you figure out the trick its very easy.
I got the silver, I love it.
Def recommend it, had same brand for n5 and loved it. Speck for my m8.. the grippy one haha only one you could ever find in a store.

do the buttons rattle like the old neo-hybrid cases used to?

slightly, not enough for me to mind and they dont rattle when you're carrying your phone or shaking it a bit (like i did to test). The only rattle I hear is when im touching them, they move a bit.
I like SPG very much, good quality and nice look, recommeded.
Did you get the Silver or Gunmetal color?
it's great in both of function and looks, thank you for you sharing

I have both. The one you have and the one without the plastic around it. I love both of them. Great cases!

You have both the neo Hybrid and the ultra clear?
If so I've got a question...
Are they the same when it comes to size?
Do they add the same bulk?
Thanks in advance!

I have both the hybrids. The one with metal buttons and the one without. They do add some bulk.

Yeah a little bit but not much bulk.
I am satisfied with this case for the most part. My only gripe is that the buttons may be too sensitive, but that could be the phone too. I seem to find myself turning the screen on by pressing the power button accidently a lot when I put the phone in my pocket. Very sleek case though.
Best case ever, with bonus!
I have the spigen neo hybrid silver accent case along with http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SXNVXPM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 installed.
BEST combo ever. It hardly adds bulk! I used to use an iOttie mount in my car. But hated the fact that my buttons were covered/pressed by accident. This magnet eases up everything plus provides a less congested feel. On top of that it keeps my device cool if i decide to charge it. I would HIGHLY recommend the combo to those who likes the simplicity and less congestion on their dash.
- Also don't take off the 3M sticker just place it in between and it will hold the magnet in place. I use the large magnet slab for placement flexibility rather than the smaller circle slab.
edit - also the magnet still holds firmly even though it's between the case. I have never had my phone drop.
you guys know if i can buy this case here in the philippines?

Just arrived Spigen Ultra Hybrid crystal clear

Extremely happy. Case fits my phone perfect. The cut outs are spot on however I wish the nexus scanner were wider however I'm sure it's something I will get use to.
The case makes the phone feel a lot more solid and not as fragile as it once did. My phone always felt like it was one drop away from being destroyed completely. Spigen did well by not adding a lot of weight to the phone and having the phones buttons cut out well but not perfect. There's not much separation between the volume up and down. It now feels like one large button. The headphone, camera, rear mic and charger are cut out clean with enough space.
The lip between the phone screen and case are perfect where I feel comfortable placing the phone on its screen side and not worry about it being scratched. The lip isn't so large that you feel this huge separation between phone and case.
9/10 imo. Hope this helps. Ask any questions you need.

Any way you can take pics? Also, how soft is the tpu material? I've heard it called stiff by some.

There are 2 parts, the back is hard but the top, bottom, sides and corners are all softer and rubbery to absorb shock.
Tyvm! When I first saw this case I thought it was kind of ugly. It grew on me to the point I am actually looking forward to this one more than any of the others I already have.

Is that a hairline crack on the bottom right corner of the cutout for the fingerprint scanner? It's faint so I can't really tell.
Looks really similar to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/accessories/spigen-ultra-hybrid-crack-finger-print-t3247766

Yeah overall I am very happy but I am not that guy that has several cases. I usually buy 1 and stick to it. I cant complain.

I literally have less anxiety knowing my phone has a case now. I may contact spigen but I am not that anal. Plus I dont want to go without a case again.
Anyone know how this compares to the Ringke Fusion clear case? I thought they were exactly the same at first, but it looks like the Spigen leaves the whole visor exposed, while the Ringke only has a small cutout. I had to return my Ringke to Amazon because the TPU had a medium sized tear in the corner. I'm wondering if I should get this instead.

Mine has the hairline crack too. I guess it's just a design flaw.

Yup. I got a crack in mine too. Probably how its molded. I spent a couple minutes trying to get it off thinking it was a smudge.
Spigen. They are top notch and you can't go wrong with them. I surely wouldn't let the crack stop you. I don't believe it effects the integrity of the case doing its job

Does the case affect the finger print scanner on the back?

Out shouldn't, Spigen cases have some of the best cutouts and Ive never had any issues with it on their tough armor that I'm using now. The cutout is likely the same size as their other case which would make it ~14.45mm according to my caliper. It's the perfect size in my opinion

If they put out a Slim Armor or Neo Hybrid, I'd buy them! Their "shimmery white" color on the Nexus 6 case was amazing! It was like an iridescent white. Very cool. The Frost N6P would look so damn sexy in one like that.

I have a graphite one after owning a CW Nexus 6 its a nice change. I would like a NeoHybrid in clear ideally but it won't happen

Whew, glad I'm not the only one with that weird line where the fingerprint cutout is. I guess it's there on purpose?

Over at reddit some users are seeing that line too:
reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3sl3iu/just_got_the_spigen_ultra_hybrid_crystal_clear
Interstingly, in the reddit OP's imgur album you can clearly see that there is no crack/scratch before the case was installed. In the later photos the crack appears when the case is on the phone.
Direct link to imgur album: imgur.com/a/pLn4g
Im guessing that the tension introduced to the case when snapping it onto the phone is causing the crack to appear. However, from the few cases I've seen it seems that so far these cases have the exact same small crack at the same position, so it may could be there on purpose. Only the guys at Spigen will know for sure.
I experienced the same hairline crack and contacted Spigen's CS team. They're helpful and sent out a replacement one for me. If you're willing to deal with the short wait time, then i'd say go for it.
