I am having trouble installing Windows Mobile 6.5 on a HTC Touch HD. I have extrected all the files to a folder and then I have connected my Touch To the computer and have activated activesync. I have then opened up the PDA Phone Rom Update Utility and followed the instructions. The HTC Touch HD gets stuck on 0% and the PDA Phone Rom Update Utility displays an error 262-the update utility has encounterd Communication problems with the device. how can i resolve this problem?
Which Operating system are you using on your PC?
When on XP what ActiveSync version?
Did you hard-SPL the HD?
and, did you make sure your device is actually detected and installed on your PC properly?
Hey, I have encountered the same problem when I was trying to downgrade my HD from WM 6.5 to 6.1. You may try to upgrade your SPL to 1.56, then cook the ROM to your phone again. At least that how I cooked my HD first time.

Is there any trick to upgrade a blackstone to WM 6.5 used by Touch HD2, i mean, the rom from htc site for touch hd2.

Hey there,
Please do not try and flash an HD2 rom to your HD, or you will end up bricking your device.
If you want 6.5 on your HD, head over to the blackstone forum, Hardspl and choose the rom of your choice.
Make sure you understand the instructions for hardpsl and flashing (it isnt that difficult really).
If all goes wrong, put your phone into bootloader and flash back the official HD rom.

i have a htc touch hd mobile with 6.1 windows with spl 1.54.0000 .....i want to upgrade it to 6.5 windows but i am new in this so i want someone's help.... i have seen some stuff in your site but i have difficulties in the start....my htc does not even connect to the pc.... when i enter the bootloader mode it doesn't tell me usb on the bottom.... and anyway the drivers and the other stuff where should i extract them??? to my memory card??? plzz someone help.... in simple steps.... from the start plzz..... as you understand i am really new in this and i really want to do upgrade my mobile.... i would really appriciate your help....

Hey, if you want to flash wm6.5 then just download a stock rom from either Htc or from this site and away you go. lol

i tried download the Mary v3.7 (original thread): Lite | SuperLite | Lite, no TouchFlo (N.B. Possible conflict with S2U2 (only if you use this - most users should be fine))
And
FInixNOver v3.6 (original thread): Normal | Light
and some others and they will enter the boothloade and it will show the sign of it trying to upgrade some will get to 3% and some will not move at all and it will bring some kind of erro on my system and if i use the soft reset it will go back to the booth loader page and will remain there untill i use the old vertion of windows (windows mobile 5 )b4 it will get back to normal
plz help me i need to change it to wm 6.1 or 6.5

sounds like your device is locked. Read for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293632 about unlocking your device.
hello thanks for your reply i have being usin it so i gues it has being unlocked any time i try upgrading it with the latest vertions on (6.1 or 6.5) i gfet an error mesage som update will get to 28% and stop and some will get to 3% and will bring out error codes different error code for diff vertion i try to use and when i tried the sspl-trin after acceptin it and it gets to my bootloader it wount recognise the usb cable attached to my system plz what hive i not done correctly? or is their a perticular vertion i am surposed to use with my htc p3600 ? plz can any body help me out

have you tryed to flash it with an original htc rom i have it on file at home but its here in the rom section.. then upgrade to 6 or 6.5

ok so im a noob!!! i have the htc touch diamond 2 spl 1.33.0000 and im running wm 6.1 now i heard that you can upgrade that system into wm 6.5 now here comes the problem as soon as i used the progrem from htc website to upgrade my opration system i get those errors 260 and 294 now i was reading in this forum that i have to do hspl or somthing like that.... can sombody please guide me throw this thanx
