Search for HK firmware or something like that in this section or in General. There are differences in the partitions. Solarnz helped a bunch of Xoom HK owners with a fix, IIRC.
god blessed you
HK version XOOM have any difference between other model of Motorola XOOM.
HK version have difference with use internal card (32GB). If you want new ROM (like 3.2.2) you can't use UMTS (3G) - only WI-FI. And more, more, more.

I believe it depends on the supplier you're gonna get it from.

For example? Can you expand on your answer please?
There are two versions of the Sensation.
The Z710a and the Z710e. Make sure you are getting the one that you need.
I see, not sure where i should look to now... I use giffgaff which runs on the 02 lines in the Uk, so I need to find out what model is compatible with their lines, right?
If you buy it from an individual store, it would work anywere, but if you buy it from T-Mobile, it will work for only T-Mobile SIM cards unless you get the unlock code from them.
My Sensation was from Saudi Arabia, from a normal store, and it worked in Egypt without any problems.
Edit: About the 2 Sensations, check those links

HTC Sensation vs HTC Sensation 4G
The 4G mobile doesn't seem to support the real 4G talking about the internal radio. Look at the frequencies, they are almost the same just an extra one which is only available in Canada (as mentioned in GSM Arena). I believe the internet speed is almost the same on both phones.
The real difference to me seems to be in the Internal Storage, which is 4gb in Sensation 4g (Z710a) and only 1gb in the first Sensation (Z710e).
Good luck with your search xD
Edit2: AT&T and T-Mobile consider HSPA+ as 4G which obviously is supported by Sensation 4G. Now I'm confused hahah

No. They both have 4GB with only 1GB usable.

I'm trying to buy it from a guy In American, It's the 4g I think. So your saying if i unlock it.. I should have no problems with it here in the UK?
every now and then i see people saying "this rom is compatible with the sensation and sensation 4g" do is there really two different sensations and if there is, could someone put a pic of both of them in the comments cause i dont undersatnd the difference
They are the same thing.
I think it just means that if you have a T-Mobile 4g that you will get the wifi calling and other T-Mobile specific apps. And if the rom detects that you don't then it won't install those apps. But I'm not sure.

International Sensation vs T-Mobile US Sensation 4G. US version has different radio that operates on the "4G" band that T-Mobile uses. Not really any hardware difference other than an additional antenna for TMOUS. Some ROMs may only have support for the international version, others may only support US version. Most ROMs support both though.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
All roms work on either phone but tmous stock roms have extra apps which are network specific like wifi calling. If anything it's only a users choice of radio that makes any meaningful difference to compatibility.

Thanks guys I just figured out cause when I posted on CSA at the bottom is said "sensation 4g" , well it did unroll I rooted

I have a Sensation Z710a bought new from Telstra Australia.
I have rooted the phone, S-off and installed Coredroid 2.5
All is working well. One unexpected advantage I have found is that my phone is now 4G compatible.
I found that when I download from the Android market, it uses the 4G network.
It also now shows my phone as a Z710e.
Telstra web site says that 4G is only avalible to USB devices, NOT phones as the HTC 4G has not been released in Australia. I rang Telstra and they confirmed this.
(Q) does changing ROM allow 4G to work? Or is it something to do with rooting the phone?
Do I have Australia's only 4G phone?
The Rom you installed is most likely to be US based, so H icon has been replaced with 4g.

Thanks Tinky1, I had seen the H icon and didn't know what it was.
But, there is not supposed to be any phones available in Australia that use 4G.
So as of tonight I bought a HTC Merge on ebay. Is it gonna be able to work on T-Mobile at all. I ddon't care about it being edge. I just want it to work because its a bad ass phone. I really love this phone and can't wait for it. But I wanna use it. I Googled it. And it has the frequencies match for edge. Please let me know.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium
I found root and s off for it. Which is a plus. And a few roms aand unlock codes.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium
Yeah. it should. It's only going to be EDGE though. So, don't be shocked, and it's also got a single core 800mhz processor.
that's not bad. Its comparable to the G2. And yeah edge. Was expecting that. my only phones right now are currently edge. I'm use to it now. I have wifi at home and work. Do you know of anyone who's using a us cellular merge with T-Mobile
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium
And is it possible to do software wise. Or would I have to get the code via blowfish Unlocks?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium
Well. I got my Merge unlocked and rooted. And it just says no service. So does anyone know of something that can mod it to work?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE Z715e with Beats Audio
You're gonna have to ask some Merge experts on that. Surely theres something special you have to do because its provisioned as a CDMA phone by default. You probably have to do something for it to recognize your SIM properly for GSM.
Probably. Honestly. I found one on Craigslist that the dude was running on tmobile and I tried to find it just about an hour ago and now I can't. So I couldn't ask him. But I tried to contact one guy who was in the merge dev. Or at least he was

It IS the G2...
The G2, Desire Z, Vanguard, and Merge is actually called "HTC Vision". But the Merge never had the Z hinge that the G2 and Desire Z had. But that's why they all have the 2nd Gen 800Mhz Snapdragon.
The thing about the Merge is, it was meant to be the HTC Vision for Verizon, but Verizon never let it be released in their stores. I think US Cellular has it right now though, and it is completely compatible with Verizon's network. So the Merge is like the long lost brother of the G2 and Desire Z.
Anyways to answer your question, your HTC Merge will be able to be serviced under T-Mobile (and even At&t) according to phonescoop.

I really like how it has both GSM AND CDMA radios
-EDIT-
I remember on my cousin's Droid 2 Global, have you tried to go to Settings and Wireless settings and then you had to change something from like "CDMA only" or "GSM only"?
Yeah I tried my att sim. It says no service. I have the u.s cellular one. Temp rooted with visionary. I sim unlocked it too

A rom might be nice. I'm only temp rooted. Got a link? Id wonder if s-off root and a rom would do me well. I remember with my droid incredible 2 when I rooted it via revolutionary it worked on tmobile. I wish the merge was the same. I love the merge more

Hi!
Im planning on buying a Sensation and because I come from a Inspire, I want to be able to Flash a lot of roms ... but I see that there are 3 models....
Sensation Z710E, I think that this is the T-Mobile version
https://negrielectronics.com/htc-sensation.html#.T2w2UTEge8E
then the Sensation Z710A international?
https://negrielectronics.com/htc-z710a-sensation-850-1900-3g.html#.T2w3PTEge8E
And obviously Sensation XE Z715e
https://negrielectronics.com/htc-sensation-xe-unlocked-white.html#.T2w3bjEge8E
I really really want the XE but are all the ROMS compatible with all the models, or the ones for Z710e(a) will not fit in the XE?
Thanks in advance!!
Most of the ROMs you will find here are XE based. They are usable for all Sensations.
Sensation and Sensation XE have the same hardware. There are only differences in the stock software (i.e. XE has audio beats).
Edit: You don't want to use a Z710e(a) based ROM if you can get a XE one

Hey man. You can put your phone into SuperCID and get any firmware you want.
xl VipeR lx has made a very nice tutorial on how to get superCID.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
Please note, you need a rooted phone with S-OFF in order to update your Baseband.
Oh well thak you very much to both of you, now I know that I'll have plenty of Roms to flash.
As soon as the htc one line of phones come out, I expect that the prices for the sensation xe go down... That's when I'll buy the Xe.

If it's for an esthetic matter I'd go for XE, but on any other cases go for a normal sensation! You can flash an XE Rom on your sensation and have a full XE without paying the difference Just did it myself and it works great, Sensation (no XE) with Beats audio

Hey, does anyone know the CID num for HTC-Z710a?
Can't get mine ...thanks
(boot looped and windows won't recognize my device)
Z710e is the International + T-MoUS version. (1700/2100/AWS)
Z710A is can run 3G on 850
Z715e is audio beats. This one is bascially the Z710e but with cosmetic differences and it runs 1.5GHz out of the box rather than the 1.2GHz on the Z710e.
can i flash the stock rom for sensation on sensation 4g after s-off and root since the sensation 4g does not have the sim tool kit.
it also depends on your Rom. My device device went from the 4G to the Z710E after flashing my ROM, so ROMS will also change it too, like from 4g to xe, to z710e. Depending on the ROM. I've noticed this.

Sensation Xe in Brazil
Friends. I'm from Brazil, would like to acquire more Sensation xe saw you commenting on differences of sensations, and that is only the rom. I was watching both use a processor Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon dual-core processor, Adreno 220 GPU. Only the processor runs at 1.5 Ghz Xe and 710 Sensation works at 1.2 Ghz, this difference is determined via hardware or software? And here in Brazil 3g carriers operate at frequencies 850/1900/2100 Mhz, and sensations working in 900/2100 Mhz frequencies would change the working of sensation to work 100% in Brazil? Sorry my english, I'm using online translator. Hugs and thank you for your attention.

Unless your going to buy the XE just to get the beats earphones, I would save yourself the money and get the normal sensation. I have explained in detail to someone yesterday about the differences in both hardware and software of Sensation and XE so I'm not reposting it here but if you browse through my post history then you should find it.

difference is caused by a line of code in the kernel that detects if the model id is = PG5813001 and if it is then the max_speed is 1.5GHz else 1.2GHz. However this can be overcome by using a custom kernel (bricked, faux, sebastian etc etc).
I bought a T-mo HTC sensation 4g which i believe is the same as the z710e, it's unlocked and rooted. I use the at&t prepaid unlimited talk, text, and data plan. After trying about 100 different at&t apns, i can get the mms to work and send pics thru texts but still can't get the internet to work, unless i use wifi.I read about flashing to another rom and and if i understand correctly that also changes the bandwith, would that allow my phone to connect for the internet if i do that?
