Hi All,
Just bought Samsung GS+ and the ringtone volume is very low (in spite of setting the ringtone volume to max) and I often miss calls. I tried Volume+ from the market but that doesn't seem to increase the call ringtone volume. I think the application works on rooted devices only. Also, found an interesting article on the web. See below. But when I enter the code *#*#197328640#*#* nothing happens. My mobile is running on 2.3.5. Not sure why the code doesn't work
Code:
A) Enter service mode by typing below code on your dialer :
*#*#197328640#*#*
click the following:
[5] AUDIO
[1] NB (VOICE CALL)
Choose Handset, headset, Speaker (which ever you want higher volume)
[1] VOLUME
[1] SRC Speech RX Volume
Change default values and higher the values any number of your choosing, here is an example:
[0]0_lvl : 68
[1]1_lvl : 72
[2]2_lvl : 76
[3]3_lvl : 80
[4]4_lvl : 84
[5]5_lvl : 88 Higher these values to until hear volume improvement.
Is there any hack or tweak so that I can increase the ringtone volume? Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks a ton!
i have the same question, i need the right service menu code, the one from the i9000 doesnt work.

Added In-Call Volume and Ring volume

Sorry if this has already been posted but there are a couple of things that are worth outlining to most users.. for example there are registry entries that allow you to change the volume and increase it significantly beyond windows actually supports and there are various other edits.. but one edit i really would like is to disable the Incoming Call Bubble..(haven't found a solution for it yet) but i thought i'd just provide everyone else with what i've found so far. (I take no credit for these registry edits)
Volume Edits
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume\
DWORD - Ringer
(HEX)Increase it to 0x#<change it to 5 or higher> to increase it to its maximum volume. - Only tested on the Atom Life
(DEC)Increase it to over 5 to increase the volume
DWORD - Volume
Same as Ringer DWORD
In Call Edits
REMOVE SOUNDS WHEN ADJUSTING VOLUME INCALL
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\StandardIncallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\QuietestIncallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\LoudestIncallVolume
STRING - Script
Remove the 'p' in the script strings to remove the noises while in a call. This makes the volume increase smoother and removes the annoying noises.
INCREASE INCALL VOLUME
HKCU\Control Panel\SoundCategories\InCall
DWORD - InitVol
Defaults to around 2 - 5, Increase this to 5 or Higher
Ringtone Edits
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Ringtone0
STRING - Script
RINGTONE VOLUME
HKCU\Control Panel\SoundCategories\Ring
DWORD - InitVol
Defaults to around 2 - 5, Increase this to 5 or Higher
Notifications Edits
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications
This works for any Script DWORDs in most if not all of those strings.
EG. To Show the icon on the taskbar, vibrate and play the sound selected
Reg: HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Phone\Options
HEX Value - 0x3
DEC Value - 3
PS: If this is already done.. Close the thread or PM me and i'll delete it.

What should I edit to increase the system sound volume (i.e the volume of music playing)
Also, please tell me how much to increase so that I do NOT damage my device in any case.
Thanks
Hope this can go in the guides thread.

I read the guide, but there's a confusion.
What should I modify to increase the volume of the music playing, and also by what value should I increase so as NOT to damage the device.
THanks

Okay essentially, you open the registry editor on your phone and then make your way to the Volume String. from there you'll see a number of DWORDS and what not. Select Volume and edit the value. Change it to something like 5 or higher than the value that was already there. Soft reset after that
Alternatively you can install the SRS WOW HD driver if your phone supports it (most phones do). Download it Here
ok, the guide was moved to the GUIDES thread... post 25.
Hi,
I'm looking for a small app or a registry hack that avoid the smartphone to switch off the speaker when a conversation is engaged.
I'm using an HTC touch 3G (Jade) with a bluetooth headset JABRA BT8040 (configured to get the free-hand and NOT the A2DP).
So, In a normal situation, the GPS instructions are sent to the speaker and the conversation to the Jabra headset. But when I answer a call the speaker switches off automatically and I can't hear the GPS instructions anymore untill the end of the call. Does anyone knows how to activate both sounds together?
By looking on the xda-developpers forum, I've seen that using some HTC splitter had this effect but it is not clear why.
Thanks for your help
I've tried the following hack but nothing is working:
1. Change the HKCY/ControlPanel/Volume EnableAdjustHSVoulme = 0 (instead of 1) : it seems it has no effect
2. Change the HKCY/ControlPanel/Volume Mute = 0 (instead of 3) : "no effect" In fact some application does not produce sound anymore.
3. Change the HKCY/ControlPanel/Volume Mute = 0xffff (instead of 3) : no effect at all.
Is there anybody that has an idea about the function of these keys? google does not give any info :-(
Thanks a lot
Hello All, I am having a heck of time trying to figure out how to change the default value in the headset value while in service mode.
I first type *#*#197328640#*#*
then select #5 Audio
then select #2 Headset
then key imput 100
It just adds that number to the default value of 52 and makes it 52100. How do I change the default value? Please help! My phone has been rooted and android version 2.3.5
Thanks
Dave

It could have something to do with the fact that it says "menu key not exist" when you get to these values, it's possible they cannot be changed here.

I just found the answer on Samfirmware.com
But there's Camera Volume, so this seems a chance as any...
fair chance that RCV might refer to ReCordingVolume
Samsung phones.

Click 5 Audio - 2 AP volume config
Now you see zie je 4 things:

3 Ringtone volume
4 Rec volume
5 FM radio volume
6 Camera volume
7 Voice call volume
8 Vt call volume

Can someoune suggest me a method to increase headphone mic volume?
I've a problem with headset volume, I can hear other people but people have problems to hear me. I think that volume mic is very low. I tested also other headphones but with the same results. Without headphones this problem is not present.
In other phone threads I found an intresting method: ie with galaxy s2 you have to enter in a secret menu and change default mic value. There is a similar method also with Optimus One?
I've a rooted phone with stock rom and kernel.
Thankyou
Hi, I found a partial solution starting from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645682
Now for Optimus one, to increase headset mic sensibility I followed these points:
1) Hidden menu, on phone app dial: 3845#*500#
Now in this secret menu make attention because " with great power, comes great responsability"
2) Device test --> Sound test --> Audio call tool --> MicAmp calibration --> Subsystem calibration
3) I select:
Vocoder ON_Chip_0
Gain type = left Mic
(default data is 35)
--> Set Data 28 --> OK
4) Device test --> Sound test --> Audio call tool --> MicAmp calibration --> Subsystem calibration
Vocoder Stereo Headset
Gain type = left Mic
(default data is 35)
--> Set Data 28 --> OK
This will increase mic sensibility and now people can better hear me. I Personally tested this, and voice will became a little bit metallic but stonger and clear.
In the original guide there is also this point:
Write all to EFS --> OK
This command is present also in optimus one secret menu but it fail to permanently write these changes to memory.
This mean that on every reboot these changes will be lost and you need to set again these two parameters; I hope that someone with more experience can help me with this.
