[Q] Honeycomb torrent app? - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

So I've done a bit of searching for this but haven't really come up with anything too promising. Does anyone know of a torrent app that is designed for honeycomb? I'm currently using tTorrent, but like all android torrent apps that I've found it's built for phones. I know the platform is still relatively new but I figured someone would have built an app to take advantage of the new screen sizes etc. It's basically a computer after all.
Anyone heard of anything in the works?
Cheers, Jason.

I use aDownloader works pretty well for me. Fast downloads upto 2mb/s. As for torrent app for tabs, i don't think there is one out there yet.

I'm using tTorrent Lite, works like a charm, downloads are quite fast.

The main problem I have with tTorrent is that it only allows a maximum download speed of 250kb/s, and which doesn't even get close to my home networks capabilities. It does the job though, guess I'll just wait for something else to be developed
Cheers anyway, Jason

+1 for adownloader. Not built for honeycomb but it definitely does the job and there is no download cap.

Purchased tTorrent, and download is increased to 400 KB/s, but using aDownloader on my phone.

When you purchase tTorrent you can set the download limit to unlimited. Fastest I have seen it download is 1.8 megabits.

Don't wan't to create new thread. I have tried both adownloader and ttoŗent an when downoad spēd goes over 700kb/s the the tablet get's reaļy slow. It's like it cant prcess the speed. S n adownloader i nēd to put limit to 600kb/s. I take down limit when i don;t use tablet but only downloading files.
So is this normal?

I've found that tTorrent slows down the transformer even when it's not downloading. Usually have to force close it. Running latest Prime Vanilla ROM.

So far I've tried aDownloader (force close, force reboot), aTorrent (didn't do anything) and tTorrent lite (limit and I didn't want to buy it). Can't say any of them worked properly, so I also look for an answer to this, even though I use a phone.
Any ideas?

+1 for aDownloader...works well for me

Finally tTorrent 0.8.6 brings No limit to upload/download - now it's the best.

I am using uTorrent Remote to select torrents on my pc then use the transfer to device to copy to
y transformer

aDownloader works well for me. My Transformer DOES get pretty laggy while downloading. But it's a small price to pay for 3.20 MB/s download speeds. ^^

Where were you able to get a working apk for Zinio? I couldn't find anything on their website about android support. I really want to use their service, but without an app for my TF I just can't get myself to take the plunge.

Seemed to be installed as part of the 3.1 release (was certainly on the leaked version)

Well, that just makes me even more excited for the update.
(Just got the tablet end of last week, so I'm still in that hesitant stage before rooting / custom romming her)
It is on the 3.1 that Roach posted.
Did any of you guys used Zinio yet? I would like some feedback...
I used it on the iPad and it was good. Transformer is coming today so I'll post how it works here.

I would greatly appreciate it. I really enjoy me some mags, but it's a pain in my (you know) to keep track of all those print copies, not to mention how much space they take up.
Zinio looks like my solution, I just can't do it without an app for my tf you know? But yeah, if you could post your thoughts I'd be quite grateful.
Yeah it came with the 3.1 update and it works fine although the text has been a bit blurry a couple of times but it seemed to sort itself, there's not a lot of options either its very basic but i love reading my mags subscriptions on my transformer so it does me fine

Yea, was just going to post the link myself as well. I'm not sure it's exactly the same thing, but I love Pulse for all my online reading at least. Just about every site has an RSS feed these days
Just noticed that I can't view my magazines if im offline, that's a bit rubbish

Well u have to download that they can be viewed offline. Also the zinio version that ships with the 3.1 update no longer works since there is a version on the market the one pre loaded in the tf101 is no longer supported by zinio and doesn't work is now u have two apps in the app drawer which is kinda anoying

That is really annoying. On another note, I kind of wish this app wasn't included in the first place. I have no need / use for it, but don't wish to root the TF, just to remove it. Although, I should admit that I have found most of the other "bloatware" apps that have been included quite useful (Polaris, for example)
Nook app
I've been using the Nook app for magazine reading. Images are sharper than Zinio in the few mags I've tried and the "Article View" is really useful. The only con is that the app is a little slow. Hopefully the 3.1 overclock kernels are not too far away (release the codes Asus, lol).

Q- Downloading to phone

Hey, I was just curious why I can download sometimes from a thread and sometimes I can't. It will say download unsuccessful. Is it a setting or is it the ROM? I'm running TPC 3 right now btw.

[Q] What will ICS do for the browser?

I have a xoom & some websites i go to like as far the scrolling & page rendering is horrific. My friend who has a dang ipad comes along & loads & scrolls through the same pages on his ipad with ease. Will ICS do anything for the browser?
Maybe any links to what the browser is capable of in ICS?
Check the development forum...ICS is amazing, and the browser is much faster now.

Pretty much this. I have noticed a big difference in page rendering on ICS. I won't go as far as to say it's revolutionary because I don't think HC was that bad, but it is definitely improved.
Some pages, like XDA forums, are particularly bad in the honeycomb browser. No such issue on ICS browser. This page renders and scrolls smoothly, just like many other.
Thanks for the replies. I just picked up the Asus Transformer Prime & the keyboard dock. I'm looking forward to ICS on this baby.

One major difference is the iPad is not loading the Adobe Flash content/ads. XDA is extremely bad because of all the ads it has embedded. My suggestion is (if your not using my ROM) is to get an ad blocker, pages will load much faster.

Like others have said, the ICS browser is much better at rendering and scrolling. The keyboard doesn't lag in the browser either. I have still had issues where links or new web pages will not load, which requires force stopping the browser.

The only other browser that I've used on ICS is the new Firefox. Firefox isn't as snappy as the ICS browser but doesn't seem to have the issues with links not opening. I'm also not a huge fan of the Firefox UI, so I tend to use the stock browser most of the time.
I find that setiing plug ins to "on demand" makes a big difference, the browser isn't trying to load all the flash stuff then. Mine is now pass able, still not as smooth as the ipad or ie9 in wp7 but I do have flash available which mostly makes up for the laggy performance.
definatly alot smoother.

I have a copy and paste app that just takes a long press to activate. Clip It works really well. There are quite a few free apps that do this...they are just resident and are available when you need them.
The long press can do wonders in android...many possibilities.

Oh darn. I was wondering why aDownloader's search wasn't working. @#$!%&#**@! copyright laws.
tTorrent from market is what you are after. Here https://market.android.com/details?...sMSwyLDEsImh1LnRhZ3NvZnQudHRvcnJlbnQubGl0ZSJd free version lets you download up to 250kB sec max.
Buy the pro version to get your providers speed. Been using a while and has never let me down even works on 3g/4g etc

Has anyone tried Overskreen (floating browser) on the note?

This video makes it looks pretty good. .
It would be nice to have two browers or apps open at the same time. .

Its something that modifies the Android framework, so it cannot be a regular app. It has to be cooked into the ROM by the developer in order to be used. It's also incredibly unstable and is renown for breaking root access while open. The kinks are being worked out...

I got it yesterday and it is as good as the video shows. Very smooth. If they can get OverSkreen to work with other apps (like cornerstone onskreen does) it would truly be amazing!

Looks cool kinda would be sweet if you had the option to use say chrome or a different browser vs being stand alone browser?

Thanks for the tip!
I just installed this app, and wow! I wasn't even sure I had any use for it, but after a couple minutes I was enjoying the heck out of it. I usually use the desktop view in my regular browser (Dolphin), so I'll just keep this one in mobile view and use it for quickly checking out links without switching away from Tweetdeck or whatever I'm in. In fact, it's awesome to be able to click a link, start that page loading, and then continue browsing through tweets or posts while the page/video/whatever is loading in the Overskreen window.
It's very smooth, too; almost too responsive, if that's possible. I'm impressed.
The one down side is lack of flash support in Android 2.x. However, 3.0 and 4.0 are supported, so that shouldn't be an issue for much longer. If I need to visit a flash site, I can just jump over to Dolphin anyway.

another update today. .with sliding tabs. . this is becoming my favorite browser and overall app. .
Thanks for letting us know about this, I installed it without knowing if it was something I would use but on first run I saw many benefits, especially on a large screen device like the Note.
I particularly liked the fact you can view YouTube vids full screen then scale the browser window to whatever size you want, then maybe have a cool tutorial video in the corner as you work on the app underneath!
It was a bit pricey but I think in this case it was worth it.
