Dear all,
Firstly, I was a HTC sensation user for quite few month. Then, I'm very happy cause I had bought this phone. But now the sensation xe have available in the market also. So, I'm wondering that should I go for it or just stay on it... Cause the beats audio performance had made me interesting...
And I had some question,
Is those custom Rom have beats audio function will perform the same sound quality like sensation xe??
Is very big difference processor's performance on sensation and sensation xe??
That is my question that always wondering me should stay or go...
Hei, waiting for your answer~~~
And thanks for helping to my consideration..

Stick with the Sensation and install an XE rom like ARHD 3.6.4, Saves you buying another phone and has all the functions of the Sensation XE, Like beats works very well and the CPU is clocked to it's proper 1.5GHZ. So they're pretty much identical if you install an XE rom, just minus the red paint
Hi
I have HTC Sensation and im satisfied like hell
I have an option to exchange my HTC Sensation with brand new HTC Sensation XE, with some cash over added by me.
Is HTC Sensation XE worth buying ? ( i mean changing it with HTC Sensation regular)?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
If it ain't broke....
Stick with what you have if it's working well for you.
You will be buying exactly the same phone underneath, and you will have been taken in by an HTC marketing scam.
Spend your money on some good earphones.
if i never had bought Sensation then I would have bought the XE coz price difference between new XE and Normal Sensation is just 50$ in my country.
since I already own a Sensation then there is no reason to upgrade. it's the same thing but with some addons that I can add to me sensation even later to make it an XE.. except for the red led lights which I don't like anyway...
I have a suggestion, Don't get the Sensation XE, Stick with the Sensation and flash an XE rom, Like ARHD. And you will have virtually a Sensation XE (Just without the red paint and the overpriced headphones)
Don't get it man, you'd be throwing away your money. If you really like the XE's look then just buy the XE's housing off of Ebay their only around USD$35. If you're really up for it and know some things about hardware buy some red LEDs and swap out the white ones and put the red ones in. Overall you should spend about USD$40~$50 swapping out both the LED and the housing. Skip this upgrade mate and get a quad-core in 2012 or the Nexus Prime.
Thank you all really..
I realised also, that, my sensation is working flawlessly, and there is no reason to change it to almost same phone...
And ARHD rom is different from IC roms ?

Hi,
Only way to find out is make a nandroid backup.
Flash ARHD,and if you don't like ,restore IC.
I wouldn't buy it, definitely not. I think the looks of the normal Sensation are better, the normal sensation is cheaper (even when you buy an Anker battery which is even better than the XE battery) and the hardware is basically the same. So just flash an XE rom on your standard Sensation is my suggestion
Does the XE's 4gig of internal memory (not all user accessible) have any benefit, other than greater rom space?

Hi,
It gives the user 1GB of space for apps.
Hi getting upgrade from my provider the difference is about 40 e. Would XE be worth than?
No need for flashing (for a moment ) + better headphones + overclocked from htc
Thanks

Does my phone have to be rooted to flash the XE rom on the standard sensation?

Yes, go ahead and root ........ you know you want to
Good thread! Thanks for opening it! Got all my questions answered here!
Low Ring Volume
Does the Sensation XE suffer also from the Low Ring Volume or does it have better speaker and lauder volume set?
Regards
Hi guys,
Very soon I'll be upgrading my from my Xperia X10 and have been looking to get the Htc Sensation Xe.
But after some thorough research I noticed that they have very similiar specs and now I'm unsure over which one I should get.
I know that because they use the same CPU and GPU then if I were to get the Sensation I could overclock it to match the XE.
And the fact that the XE has 3GB more internal storage compared to the Sensation. If I get the Sensation can I expect to see the same amount of updates as the XE?
Anyways I'd mainly just like to request opinions from the rest of you on what I should do!
Thanks in advance
I'm assuming the HTC sensation is cheaper. Is go with the sensation. Yes we have roms and kernels to make it just as quick.I personally don't like storing things on my phone so the internal gb isn't that great to me. Ics is coming to sensation. Stick with the sensation. Xe seems like a rip off.

when i got my xe senstation and xe were both the same price, if thats the case get an xe! It looks cool and you get £80 beats handsfree with them
If you get the XE for the same price take it and you will get ear phones which will cost probably more than 60 €. ON the other hand the beats "extension" is only different software and there are a lot of customer roms for the sensation which includes that piece of software.
I've chose the XE. It looks nice (all black) and here in the Netherlands u get some fancy ear buds who cost like 75€ without the phone
Greetings oh knowledgeable community. I am a happy owner of both a Sensation and a Sensation XE (EU unlocked models both). I used to rock the XE model but recently decided to plunge into the rooting club and used my non-XE Sensation as a testbed, first with AOKP 35 and now with OrDroid 5.0.2.
Even when I was in stock rom the battery had performance issues - well documented and many have across them - that of course didn't change with the new ROMS (although OrDroid has noticeably better battery performance than the AOKP ROM).
Before I attempt to try the Anker/Muugen path, can I ask if anyone has tried of using the Sensation XE battery in a simple Sensation? Is it possible? Will it harm the phone and/or the battery? Reason I am asking is that I would rather get a Sensation XE battery (official HTC product, ergo better "compatibility", warranty, etc) to use on my non-XE Sensation, since it has more mAh.
Can anyone provide a solid answer please? I would rather use an official product than whatever amazon.co.uk sends me tbh.
Thank you in advance peeps.
What do you mean by performance issues?

It doesn't last a long time... hence "performance issues"
(insert relevant Loki vs Tony Stark pic here )
Still, the basic question remains, can I use the Sensation XE battery in Sensation?

I own HTC Sensation and wish to know the answer as well.
As for as I know you can use it if it fits, and the mah might be different but the voltage is the same.

All it will do is enhance the battery life. That's it. It will fit as well as the original does.
No performance issues whatsoever, batteries as far as I know never cause performance issues unless they are dying and then the phone may end up randomly turning off.

yes you may use the sensation XE battery in the non XE sensation as both has same voltage n almost similar mA...
so no prob in using the XE battery in non XE sensation
what about the casing, will it still close with the original non xe sensation?
Any success ?

I had the same question and while searching I cam across your thread, I know it has been a long time. But i was wondering did you try that out and what kind of results you got.
I would really appreciate if you could share your experience with us.
...and am wanting to upgrade.
I can't affoed the One-X etc....but am really really liking the specs of the HTC Sensation XE.
Anyone here used to have a Desire HD?
How does the Sensation XE compare in your opinions to the Desire HD?
What I'm looking for is:
HTC Sense
Better Screen Quality/resolution than the Desire HD
Faster Speed
Improved photo & Video as i'm always taking pics and vids.
Sold My Desire HD for £160 on Ebay, So VERY seriously thinking of getting the Sensation, as in today or tommorow.
So, any info, especially with regards to some experienced users who have owned the desire hd in the past and upgraded to the Sensation XE would be very much appreciated.
cheers,
Matt
Just get a regular sensation. They're cheaper and there is literally zero diference between it and the XE. The XE just ships with a higher cpu clock speed and beats audio, but all custom ROMs include beats and if you root you can change your clock speed to match the XE's. They use the same cpu chips.
The only differences are aesthetic. like red trim on the case and buttons. That's the ONLY difference. If you're not going to root your phone, the XE could pull out a lead but the regular sensation shouldn't be dissmissed. It too is a great phone. I love mine.

Thanks for the reply and advice....much appreciated.
Anyone else?
Standard Senssation or Sensation XE?
Music quality aint important for me, but must be dual core, take better pics and video that desire HD and have ability to use HDMI.
cheers
Matt
+1 for standard Sensation over the XE. What icantthinkofaname said is correct. No differences between standard Sensation and Sensation XE. That is, unless you really want the red accents and those snazzy red and black earbuds.
Beats software EQ is overrated anyway. I'm using a free translated version of TTPod (before they went to the paid model) and it sounds ridiculously better than HTC Music with Beats if you know how to tune an EQ.
Thanks guys, I think i'll definitely go for the standar sensation and root it then.
Beats audio and the fancy red stuff does zero for me.
All I want is something faster than my Desire HD, but better video quality, 1080 recording and definitely hdmi output.
is there ANY difference between the recording quality and picture taking quality between the standard Sensation and the Sensation XE?
If not, then 100% going for a standard/stock Sensation, then root it like I did with my desire.
cheers
Matt

nope, none at all. go ahead and grab one!:good:
My wife has desire hd. I think they are almost same. Between the two there is nothing ground breaking.
I would put my money to real update or get used normal sensation..
Even Google nexus with jb could be nice... 720p screen etc..
Sensation XE. Bricked kernel. ViperS ROM. Powered by Mugen battery.
Go for the sensation and be a happy camper!
I'm sticking with HTC....just coz I love HTC Sense.
Defo getting the Sensation and not the Sensation XE.
HDMI output, 1080p video, dual core processor and better screen quality does it for me compared to the Desire HD.
cheers
Matt
