[Q][Donation Fund] ROM development..lets get some interest, Infuse CM7,MiUi :)

Hey guys and gals, I'd like to get an idea for how much interest we have in buying a few infuse devices for some of the Cyananogen team and/or the Miui team.
I first want to understand how many people would be interested in this and thereafter i will reach out to some people to talk to Koush and company. You don't have to donate now just pledge a donation for a specific ROM.
The thought behind this is that if we can get either of these two teams or both of them a device the may not have considered once they spend time with such a beautiful device they will be more interested in development for ths phone sooner.
If we dont get enough interest in donations we'll just have to wait on a few devs to mosey on over here. Your choice!

More info about MIUI can be located here.

As a new Infuse owner I really hope we can get some development going asap! I would def be up to donating if thats what it takes to get development started!!!

I didn't know MIUI = iphone
no matter it' sense, touchwiz, or motoblur, I always replace it with launcherpro.
I just love the MIUI phone dialer and power menu that has all the shortcuts I needed.

Oh yea i forgot to mention I am down to donate $40 for each it we can make this happen. I had CM7 on my HTC and loved it but I am also loving what I have seen with MIUI!!!

im going down for $10 on cm7 or cm8 if ice-cream comes out. not that i'd even use it. the way i see it is that miui exists on the galaxy s using a cm kernel.the sgs miui will likely flash on this once we have a aosp kernel. miui could also be ported onto our base rom like it started for the fascinate but it is not as clean that way and means you will be behind the curve on os version. if we are gonna get a totaly custom non samsung rom it makes most sence to build it off the newest nexus sources so i think cm is the clear winner

I'm getting this phone tomorrow and would definitely donate a few dollars for Cyanogenmod.

Loved cm7 on the captivate and inspire. Put me down for $ 10 for cm 7.
Couldn't care less about miui though.

this is already done it is the same as the captivate and is cake! just need root. you can delete or freaze tethermanager and the phone lets you use ap mode. i have it all over the tether thread but it's like people read the title and decide to put in their $.02 and not read the replies before them.

Im getting sick of waiting. I appreciate all the help everyone is done. Its time I think I need some major help. Ive search and look and nothing has help. I want to port gingerbread to our phone. Do you guys have a lead to where I can get the information to port this thing. Idk if people are going at it to port but im going to.
Idk if I place this in the right place but I want the benefit of 2.3 I want to port this. I know the vibrant is similar but not really. I just want information to get 2.3 on our sgs4g

You cant port GB. Have to wait... Try creating a custom rom once we have a flahable stock. Quit complaining. I know u apologised ahead of time in the op... But.... Yeah... There are multiple threads on how to port... READ. Sorry...

Wait, I thought the CM7 team had reconfigured the ROM for the SGS series. Is it only a handful of devices? I'm not entirely sure; I have a Droid, but figured I'd try to help a little bit... :-\

thanks for trying to help but its not for this device yet its only for a handful like the I9000 and the vibrant(not sure which other ones) i just hope we get something like it soon

OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT READ THROUGH XDA:
luckyduck has sent drhonk the sgs4g so that he can TRULY touch it up, like adding EXT4.
drhonk even said he has a to do list as soon as he gets the test phone
its not like GB can just be put on a phone, SAMSUNG has to release a source code for it and just so you know the USA is always LAST to get the source code.
just be patient like everyone else and yes drhonk will/ does help the sgs4g EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT THE PHONE HE USES!!!!!!!!!

I am on the verge of jumping ship also.... likely I will hand down my sgs4g to my gf (she has a vibrant now) and I will get the sensation or Hercules (I will wait til next month for info on the Hercules) is the Samsung pans out to release in August I am going that route. Otherwise HTC here I come.

Blah blah blah. We just don't really give **** and don't want to hear about you and your sorry ass patience. Things just don't happen overnight and were trying to keep people positive about this device but its a little hard with posts like yours.

Hey guys, this is my first android device, but I do have some experience with software development. Is there anyone who could post some guides, tutorials, links, or downloads on developing for this phone? This is very good, but incomplete. I need downloads and links for just about everything. I cant get java to find my phone, and dont know what files should and shouldnt be edited. I wanted to start a thread to cover everything. I mean everything. Lol

I myself was always a Windows Mobile guy up until almost 3 years ago when i got my 1st Android device, an HTC Supersonic aka EVO 4G. Since then its been down hill, very similar to a bad bad Crack addiction, with ROM Flashing as my temporary fixxx.
I like my InFuSe(s), hopefully one day i'll love my InFuSe(s). My only complaint is that it is too new and there is too little going on with the device. Thank god my HTC Desire HD aka Inspire 4G keeps me on my feet and flash-happy, but instantly i miss that HUGE Super AMOLED Plus display and must go back to a bone-stock device.
I bought a 2nd InFuSe to have as a side by side testing device and / or to donate to the right MIUI dev to get us on the MIUI boat and later found out that we need to get CyanogenMod going before we have a chance at MIUI...
Again, good luck with your InFuSe and with Android. I have a lil sayin: "Don't worry, your not gonna break it unless you throw it, frustration is a bicht!"

You should totally think more about donating your extra infuse to a cyanogen mod dev so we can get that ball rolling. That would definitely get some more stuff going on with this phone.

I would love a donated infuse to continue work on my kernel and also start on CM7 but I am not a old or highly rep'd developer...
I'd work on it and I am still working on the kernel without one, so keep me in mind if your considering sending the second one to a developer..

Razor is a good upcoming Dec you should think about this.

[Q] Which ROM to install on my wifes Infuse (NEED SOME HELP)

This is my first post on your site and I have to say what a site it is...this has to be one of the best D:
I’m looking to install a good ROM on my wife’s infuse and have found so many fantastic looking ones on XDA but unsure which one is the best ( I know its hard to say who’s is better than who's but could you guys/girls give me some recommendations? one that will at least help battery life and more flexibility on the phone I was thinking about [UNOFFICIAL] Compiled CM 7 for Infuse 4G [2.3.7] any suggestions / recommendations I would appreciate it. Thanks

I haven't personally tried it out since my phone's just now starting to get back from repair, but I hear dman's ZEUS is a fantastic ROM.

He heard about it.
I am using it.
Flash ZEUS on to your wife's phone, and then sit back and relax.

For your Wife's phone? I'd recommend ZEUS...it's no hassle and once you get it running it should require minimum support.
CM7 is also very nice and has most of the AT&T bloatware removed.
I have had excellent battery life on both.

Zeus is a very good choice love it. But I've got a new spit in my heart for super cm7

Me, I'm a MitRa fan. Flash the 4.7 version but only use the download link from the Infuse Dev forum. Then flash the BluePro theme for it.

Like OMG yes....If I wasnt sure would I have asked?
