Hi guys,
I've been looking for a way to overclock my desire s, but no one is giving a good answer in the old threads,, so please if you dont have a good answer dont write it
anyway i want to overclock my Desire S, what should i do? and my friend told me that i can set the voltage of my battery so it doesn't run hot, how can i do that too?
Please i want a step-by-step instruction since i'm kinda new in this stuff.
If you don't know how to do it, you don't need it.
I could google this and get results on the first page.

Why do you want to do this?
This is the kind of replys i'm NOT looking for..
its so annoying when people tell me something i know AND already did!!
you dont have the answer to my question DONT reply! EASY
If you don't know how to use the internet, don't use it. Google could have answered your question, but you expect everything on a silver plate.
I overclocked my phone really well, what I did was set heaps of downloads on the android market, then just ripped out the battery, it works really well, phone runs a lot faster, and sits around 20º, you have to do this around 5 times though .. just to make sure.
Happy overclocking!

Hey guys, well i was sitting here thinking about how much i could actually use the live wallpapers on my phone. I mean i am tired of using the newer android just to have the far and few features that are in it, to sacrifice SOOOOO much.
Am i alone? or Do you people wanna change this too?
I don't know where to start, i just realized that it hasn't been done, i mean we have ported it so far to the g1, and the run AWESOME when optimized.
Lets work on it people!!
It's not possible.
thats called getting shot down haha
Wow it's called [Think Tank].. you might get flamed for that mistake...
Other than that, this thread is perfect! Keep it up!

Wow thanks for the help there from mr 65 posts.
Think its a good idea but would need to have live wallpapers off of a 1.6 rom, i suspect this is possible with the right lib files etc.Any idea what files the live wallpapers use?
And btw they once said it wasnt possible to fly and whos laughing now
lets do it,
Okay this is not Impossible i'd say, because we do have a working 3d cube live wallpaper running on donut i believe So, id say we could make this work somehow just dont shoot it all down instantly guys.

Wow thanks for proving that posts count != intelligence.
Note: If you have 13337 posts it doesn't mean you've got huge knowledge about Android.

Maybe you should have included a reason as to why you think it's not possible, and you wouldn't have gotten pounced on like that.

Honestly? This is most certainly *possible*, just silly. In my opinion, it makes a LOT more sense to work on fixing everything broken in 2.1 than to port 2.1 stuff back to what is effectively an obsolete version of android.
We're not *that* far off from a fully working version of 2.1 on Dream. In fact, the only thing I'm aware of are the GPU drivers. Maybe we just want to revert some of 2.1 to 1.6 to get those components working.
Has anyone tried to reverse engineer the video drivers from 1.6 and port it to 2.1?

Well we are SUPPOSED to get an official 2.x ROM for the G1, so I don't think anyone's going to jump on that idea :/
Might I ask where did you get that kind of information, phuKKah?

Dude, maybe if you had some stature, or a brain even to read the post, i mean you clicked it right? you read the title? I mean, the beginning strictly said think tank, and you, yes Burag, clicked on it to read, meaning you had some sort of interest or hope it had been done, right so why would you say it wasnt possible?
OOhh let me guess .. your one of those D-Bags who gets off on saying "first" in forums huh? Get real clown! If you have input we'd love to hear it. Other than the de-douchery coming out of your mooth, naaah.

So I'm using the the Inspired AOSP RC1 and am having issues with making phone calls, and I can't use youtube, for whatever reason. I can use the browser, I can use facebook, but no youtube, and no phone calls. I'm using Leedroid'd kernel, which might be the issue, but it's giving me some pretty nice oc'ing potential so I don't want to just flash it if that's not the issue. Can somebody help me?
I'm a noobie, so if I've forgotten anything please don't hate on me.
Wipe relfash the rom, and instead of flashing a kernel that wasn't made for vanilla, try flashing one that was made for it, like lord mod's for cm7.
You're using a Sense kernel on an AOSP rom. Don't do that.
Thanks, I am now realizing how much of a noobie move that was. Thanks for not flaming.

HI everyone ive been reading and following many developers in XDA and i really love it and I wanna start givin u guys tips about the HTC One X
As u know thear have benn much talk about installing the drivers from chainfire 3d to lock the gpu, and what that does is that it makes ur gpu life shorter and ur phone hotter and dosent make any difference in games really. If u are having a s-off phone than yes use it becouse then it will work like it was made to work but now when we dont have s-off all ur doin is pretty much ruining ur phone and the cool experience.
THANKS GUYS FOR READING I WILL POST MORE TIPS SOON!
Ps. PRESS Thanks if i helped u

HTC One X is pretty much better than other mobiles and i guess it doesn't really need chainfire 3d... as it already has capability to render 3d right ??

Arrgghh!! I have fresh flashed the 19, 20 and 23 builds of this but keep getting random shutdowns when the phone is asleep. This happens when charging AND when the phone is not plugged in. I have tried fixing perms and repeatedly clearing cache but nothing helps so far.
The ROM/PORT is awesome, BTW, and I really want to make it work. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to try? I appreciate any help.
Thanks
Im having the same issue. The phone just randomly cuts off and I dont even realize until I go to use the phone. Is anybody else having this problem?
Oh and this is also my first post ever lol I couldn't ask this question on the dev forum because I was "not permitted" lol
Well its a good thing you couldn't post in the dev section. You're thread would have been locked and you would have been sent here anyway. Js

I'm not sure what kernels are all out there for JB but I would recommend trying a different one. Also, are you underclocking/overclocking your cpu? If so you might want to play around with those settings. Personally, I use Juice Defender ultimate and configure my cpu settings that way but have heard nothing but good things about setcpu. Hope this helps!

Yea im not complaining or anything I greatly appreciate all the effort that these guys are putting in. The only reason that I even brought it up was because it seemed that it might be an isolated issue. There was only one other person that reported this problem. I was just wondering if I needed to tweak something in /system?....

thanks, I think there is another kernel but it seems to be causing boot looping. I usually us no-thrills to change cpu settings and stuff like that but maybe I will give JD Ultimate a try. Thanks again for your input.

hey guys I think I found out why my phone kept shutting down ....i belive that my battery is going bad. It doesnt seem to hold a good charge anymore. I never thought that it was the battery but for some reason i decided to try another battery and.....no more random shutdowns.
So if anybody is experiencing something similar, be sure to check the simple stuff first:laugh::silly:

Grab an Anker battery (if it says compatible with Thunderbolt you're golden) and never look back.
I had issues with random shutdowns on both ICS and JB...turned out my CPU's min voltage was set to something under than 200 hz...so you might want to check that out.
