Been working on this for a few days, still in the "there's still a lot of things that i want to do" phase. But i figured I'd share a little bit and get some feedback. P.M. me if you'd like to test it when it gets close to being done.
Update: Getting close to testing stage. Still a couple of .apk's i want to get to and a few tweaks i want to finish before season starts. Pictures give a general idea, but expect it to change based on what my mood is for the day. =) Should note that screenshots look more grayish than it really is. Much more blue than gray.

I think it looks slick! Kind of reminds me of the Synergy Theme Chooser theme. I ran that theme for like 7 months on my OG Droid lol. Any chance of a bigger screenshot so we can see all the details?

I don't know if this will help but this is the process i would use if i were you.
Pre:
1. download apktool from here and here. Extract the files and place them in your C:Windows directory.
2. ADB pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/framework/twframework-res.apk
3. in CMD prompt, type "apktool if framework-res.apk.
4. In CMD prompt, type "apktool if twframework-res.apk"
That sets your framework files so you should have no errors while decompiling and compiling .apk's in APKmanager.
APK manager:
1. 0: adb pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk
2. 9: decompile apk
3. go into projects folder, make changes to images.
4. 11: compile apk.
4a. Type "y" when it asks if it is a system app.
4b. type "y" when it asks if you would like to reduce the #of errors by copying files.
5. go into the "Keep" folder in your apkmanager directory and delete the /res/drawable-hdpi folder (or whatever folder the images you edited are in).
6. go back to APKmanager and hit enter.
7. 8: ADB push /system/app/SystemUI.apk
Hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn't.
Looks nice!

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE OP!!
Ok so for in order for this you work you have to have the HTC Lockscreen ON your phone. If you removed it here's an flashable zip file that restores the HTCLockscreen.
http://www.mediafire.com/?cpjbua18boc3n5j
To Enable the Vanilla Lockscreen:
1. Navigate to system/app/HTCLockscreen.apk in root explorer
2. Rename HtcLockscreen.apk to HTCLockscreen.bak
3. Hot Restart
To Re-enable the HTC Lockscreen:
1 Navigate to system/app/HTCLockscreen.bak in root explorer
2. Rename HtcLockscreen.bak to HTCLockscreen.apk
3. Hot Restart
You now can switch between the two lockscreens as much as you want in the matter of a few seconds!
For this edit to work without messing up any themes you have added, send me your current framework so i can change the appropriate files and make it into a flashable zip for you.
Please attach your framework-res.apk and what options you would like and ill make it for you.

You are obviously a noob at graphic vocabulary.
Opaque is the opposite of transparent. So where you list a few of the locks as 'opaque' and 'semi-opaque', you should actually just call them 'semi-transparent'.

Hey guys I don't know about you but I really like the basic GB theme that has come out on Kejar's and Drods roms...BUT...that ORANGE had to go...so it went in favor of the awesome green. I also edited and changed all the stock Android widgets to match the current YouTube so it keeps everything uniform but with the "new stock" look(decompiled, optimized and recompiled )...I would first and foremost like to thank Kejar and Drod as they are currently developing my favorite roms. Secondly the XDA community as a whole specifically Dr. Coverdale(for his awesome tutorial on draw9patch and editing .9 pngs), Stericson (for the freaking awesome Metamorph and NinjaMorph and all his tutorials)well to be honest the list is long and prestigious so again a big thanks to XDA as a whole.
Items themed:
framework-res.apk
CalendarProvider.apk
Geniewidget.apk
Music.apk
Settings.apk
I also added the microbes live wallpaper with the correct lib file so it's good to go.
So here's some screenies...

The standard disclaimers apply...
By rooting your phone you have already voided your warranty and I take no responsibility for what this modification may subsequently do to your device.
With that I do highly recommend installing over a fresh install or at least a wipe...I know its not considered "necessary" with themes but I find things always work better over a clean slate. Happy Flashing...
http://www.multiupload.com/7T95M1VDZE
Here is my "personal preference" Metamorph...This changes the tabs on the dialer and removes the lines from under the numbers on the dialer and incall phone pad it also removes the green button press. Also this will add the round smileys to framework-res, Mms and Talk. I also changed the music widget and icon images. This will likely be the last mods on this theme as I am(and I'm sure alot of us are.) awaiting the drop of Liberty rom and the next Rubix but if interest in this theme is maintained I will port it to support Kejar/Jrummy and Drod's next developments...screen shots below...
Add Ons...
Here's the themed LP by Benny879 you must have the plus version to use the widgets. Also included in the zip is a set of GB icons by Fab from his ApeX rom. (A very good rom for those looking for a compromise between aosp/blur.) Also a dock that I resized and edited from a com.htc.resources.apk(I included the blank icon for the launcher.) Here's a screenie of the widgets incase you missed it in the op.
Here is a battery percentage mod requested by one of our members...

screenie V2...
Attached is a metamorph theme for this mod...
1. Download Metamorph from Market (free version available)
2. Download attached theme
3. Place zip in "Android Themes" folder this will be automatically generated by Metamorph
4. Unzip extract new
5. apply all and reboot

I really like GJ the way it was with the gingerbread look. Well I thought I did till I found this theme. This gave the rom the finishing touches I was looking for and I feel should have been included to make it perfect in both form and function. Thanks for posting this and I hope you don't mind that I linked your thread over at droidforums.net for the gummy users. Thanks again!
This is a port of a port. All credit for creativity goes to edint3000 for the theme and Bigloof for the original port to the Fascinate and some of the images used.
The original theme can be found here.
The Fascinate port can be found here.
Give them a check and some thanks for all of their hard work if you get a chance. When I saw this, I really thought some of you guys would like it so I got to work moving some png's and doing a few xml changes. This is what I came up with.

Looks awesome. I'll give this a go tonight. Thanks as always!
Thanks phidelt!
Quick question for you, I really love the carbon fiberesque look of the slide down from the Dark Gloss theme, but I really like everything else about this Midnight theme, would that be as simple as an edit to a .png (or a swap)? (The way it's animated I would think the buttons at the top and the actual notification slider part would be separate images and could possibly be swapped from theme to theme, but I know nothing .)

There's a few things involved with it. I really like the carbon fiber drops also. Once things die down and we get this 2.2 up and running I'm going to build my own theme and that is one of the features that it will have. As far as swapping out one drop down for another, I haven't done it, but I'm sure it is pretty easy. There may be a few .9 files that will have to be taken in to consideration but that should be the worst of it.
Awesome, sounds good man! Thanks for the response!
looks and works Great on the Showcase
of course I had to tweak the notification bar

That will be in v1.1 as soon as I can get to it. I tried to get it going in v1.0, but it wasn't as easy as moving the png files like normal. That's why I used the port instead of the original. I might be getting a break from this project I'm working on now, so that might be something I can work on in my spare time.
Not a big deal just gives me something to look forward to on some new themes. If that project is froyo then you just keep plugging away and ignore the rest of us!

Made some of my own edits, also borrowed from edint cuz his wicked android guy rocks!:
This is what it looks like if you apply the puzzle lock standalone after the theme (I need to make a small edit, for some reason they black out the top half of the lock in the port I did, so I will be changing that when I get time - I plan on trying to edit out the puzzle pattern to a honeycomb pattern, then possibly changing the circle lock to fit the honeycomb pattern but I may not be able to so we will see);

It could be ported fairly easily, we will see how my time goes.
Lately I haven't had much time so I haven't gotten really far, but here is what I have so far. I grabbed the Xoom boot animation and included it in the .zip, it's very awesome hope you guys like it. (seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vCYj3aiQE4)
The SMS app has a small tweak still needing to be made, when you search for a contact it is black on black text and so you can't read it until you press on it, so if you don't want to use the sms app, just pull that .apk file out of the .zip before you flash it.
You need to be on pnp before flashing this, and to see the boot animation you have to be using the EA11 voodoo kernel.
I also suggest using the free honeycomb ADW theme available on the market, it's a nice compliment. I will update soon as I get time to theme some more apps.
Here is the download, make sure you disable lag fix before flashing (can be re-enabled after of course)

Also, just verifying that you are going to continue work on this theme?
Here is the download, make sure you disable lag fix before flashing (can be re-enabled after of course)

In reference to the sms app, you do mean the mms.apk in the zip file correct?

Yeah, sorry mms.apk
No worries, the only reason I asked is because I flashed back to DarkFroyo, then deleted the mms.apk from the HoneyFroyo zip, then reflashed honey and the text dropdown issue still exists.
Gr8 job!!! Works awesome on EC10

So the only issue now is the icon. I know why it is messed up but I can not seem to fix it. The icon is set in AndroidManifest.xml line 31.
<application android:label="@string/app_name" android:icon="@mipmap/ic_launcher_marketplace" android:name="com.google.android.finsky.FinskyApp" android:backupAgent="com.android.vending.VendingBackupAgent" android:killAfterRestore="false" android:restoreNeedsApplication="true" android:restoreAnyVersion="true">
The problem is you can not build it with the mipmap folder still in there. and if you add them after it is built it does not use them. I have moved the images to the corresponding drawable folder. but if I change AndroidManifest.xml I have to sign the file. Which works great except I can no longer buy anything in the market. free stuff still works fine. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?
Please let me know if there are any issues and I will try and get them resolved as fast as possible.

So I have been changing the new market to black and blue but I can not find one thing.
When you do a search or browse the apps, I can not get the title to be white.
I know that the title layout comes from overview_bucket_entry.xml I can change all of the other stuff except the tile color. Here is what it looks like now.
Edit:
And I have success!!!
It is a smali edit. it is in smali\com\google\android\finsky\adapters\DocumentBasedAdapter.smali
Line 113 const v1, 0x1060003
-This calls primary_text_light
change it to const v1, 0x1060001
-This calls primary_text_dark
Idk how to help but I want it when it's done will match the dark horse theme 8)

Here is the apk so anyone who wants can take a look and see what they can do with the title color.

Awesome. Thanks for working on this. I tried to just change the icon for the market the other night, but did it wrong somehow. (Hmmmm, actually, I never tried it with a reboot...have to try again )
Anyhow thanks. And just my luck, black and blue. all the theming I use is black and blue.

No, I was just trying to steal the icon out of the market I currently have and swap it into the new one.
But new market doesn't have a file of same name, and uses a few that look like may be the icon, so I couldn't figure out which one to swap out.

Still working on it. have not been able to find the title text color yet. Everything else is going great. If anyone has any smali experience I would love the help. I am almost 100% positive at this point that it is going to be a smali edit.

I had a friend look at the smali and said he couldn't find it. Ill have more time to dive in tomorrow
Good work.
I like it.
But I am using Samsung Galaxy S (DeepBlue ROM 1.0, 2.3.4), and I have noticed that:
1) apk itself is missing Market Icon
2) Market App is missing Launcher Icon
Can you please explain to me, what is wrong. More over, your Vending.apk can't be used to update stock Market (well, using TransBlue Market 2.3.6 now), by simple install, like original 3.0.26 Market can.
Not so big deal, when I can move this new market to /system/app myself, but using update is more confort, because I can uninstall it anytime.
Is there any solution to those problems? Font color is not my issue, since I am using modded framework, which do include such font color changes, so this Market works as it should.
