I know, but don't we need some updates. Nothing is wrong with keeping a thread for updates now that all are 100% possible.

The point of this thread is to be a place easily found by everyone in our forum for the devs to post new updates now that we have kernel source. Sorry but i couldnt find your thread here on our forum mate.

Phresh... You've been in these forums long enough to know that not one of our developers are going to dignify this thread with a comment, especially since they have posted their "update plans" in the threads of their respective roms.

I think an all in one thread for CM7 or MIUI updates shouldn't even exist, unless one of the devs working on the ports creates it. Then it can be stickied and we don't have to worry about searching through pages of flaming for the updates!
You realize since we have source now, it aint gonna be a port but a build just for us!

I say just keep your eyes on the Android Development section and keep your fingers crossed for the holy words to grace it .
So is this a thread to decide on whether to start a thread for miui or cm7 development?
Im all in favor of having a thread that the devs can give us periodic updates on their progress with the roms. As long as the thread has a rule that you can not ask in anyway for eta's.

I read in article that ice cream sandwich will not be available for the Captivate.
Is there anyone working on something that will be very similar?
Teamhacksungs ics port. It is going to be cyanogen mod 9. There is a thread for it in this forum. Also, this thread should be in the Q&A section, not development.

I read that too but then I also saw that they were "revisiting" this and it is possible the galaxy s and galaxy tab may get the upgrade. I however doubt the captivate will get an official release since we still dont have official GB, blame AT&T

No they're not Thread closed and moved - we know the official word is no ICS, there are plenty of developers here who will make it happen for us.
Ive tried multiple links for Gapps, and none of them are working, I'm pretty sure they all point to the same page. does anyone have the latest one I need it for a rom I just flashed.

FYI...forum rules say to post questions in the Q&A forum. Some people will get upset and not explain it in a nice way.
Some devs post their own version. Double check the thread for your rom.

Lol. I mostly agree. If people use the tapatalk app, it never shows the sticky unless you actually click on the sticky menu...
There's no excuse for not reading the bold letter titled topic though..

Yep, that's gonna get you far. Let me explain something to you.
There are about 5 of these exact threads that have been posted in the past 2 weeks alone. They all say the same thing, which you would see if you search a thread name before posting it.
What ROM you find the best depends on the user. Not everyone will agree on the best, I don't think. The best thing to do, is spend a few days on each one, then decide.
If you wanna stay on gb use barebones by antonx I've been using that and its very stable and fast and great battery

There is no best only best for you, and that depends on what you want and need.To find that out, read the first post of each rom and see what it offers, and if it has any known issues to know what is stable.

I told him to do so, so he could go to completely another forum (not XDA) and ask this noob question there, where nobody knows him.
Now you get it?
It would be very funny experience for him to find out what other people on other frums know about SGS4 or phone flashing at all.
I would probably get people telling me off and not wanting to teach me... Happens a lot on these forums, luckily the constant S4 questions have kind of died down here and people like myst tend to point them in the right direction instead of just making a fuss about it.
Why not just report it and move on?
Anyhow, congrats on new device, go forth & make it great like you did for sgs4g..
