[Q] Remove ScreenLock rotating animation - HTC Desire S

Hi!
Is there a way to remove that rotating animation when you remove the screen lock?
Im running Saga3D v3.0 on an S-Off device, but I think it's a feature of Sense 3.0
Thanks!

Unfortunately I think you are stuck with it on a Sense 3.0 ROM.
The only way around it (that I know of) would be a Sense 2.1 ROM with Sense 3.0 useful bits added, like LBC MOD.
I would kill to be able to turn off the home screen carousel spinning pain in the butt. Never ceases to annoy me trying to quickly get a couple of screens over!

thanks for the answer!
hope the devs will be working on that issue, its the most annoying "feature" of sense 3.0+

If you are running a custom rom with RCmix3D installed it actually has an option to disable this "feature".
Settings > RCmix3D > Display Options

You should try out Lowveld's Enydmion rom based on Sense 3.5, same features except they're more efficient and prettier ;-). (I'm not trying to say Hyperion isn't good or anything.)

Animated Flip HTC Sense Clock (Desire HD Port)

Hey guys, just thought I would share the Sense Clock from the Desire HD leaked system dump. This clocks numbers actually flip down as each minute and hour passes. You must be running sense for this to work. Place on SD card, and flash .zip file via recovery.
WARNING: Do not wipe, as this is using your cached prior HtcClockWidget.apk signature verification. Which means you should have the stock widget active on your homescreen before you flash this. This is tricking the clock into thinking the .apk is signed correctly.. It is highly advised you nandroid backup!! If you wipe your cache for any reason you will lose the clock and possibly cause other errors. If you need to wipe for some reason, delete HtcClockWidget.apk in system/app via Root Explorer or ADB.
The HTC Clock Widget MUST be actively open on your home screen.
You can NOT move it.
You can NOT remove it from your home screen and add it again later.
You can NOT look at the different clocks the widget has to offer.
Long story short, make sure the clock is on your home screen before installing. Do NOT touch the clock other than to open the weather.

Will this work with Skyraider Vanilla?
Sent from my HTC Incredible using Tapatalk
Works on Virtuous 2.0, so I'd imagine it would work on the later Virtuous releases as well. I was always a bit dissapoined that our clock didnt flip.
Thank you very much thatdudebutch.
works on my vir 2.7 with increvol theme
No prob guys, just please remember the warning I posted.
Just tried it doesn't show up in the widgets list. Most likely because it would be in the sense widget list. Someone should definitely port it to show up without sense so everyone with vanilla can enjoy it
skyraider vanilla 3.0 RC3
bfs kernel #4

LOL.. Yeah read OP. You must be running sense with the original sense clock installed for this to work.
The flip clock is flippin sweet!! (pun intended)
Thanks.
any success stories on stock 2.2??
EDIT: Got it working on a fresh flash of the deodexed stock 2.2
I'll second Jason... flipping sweeeet!!!
Tried on Skyraider 3.1 Sense and FC when I try to add it to the homescreen. Seems like it renamed "Clocks" to "Digital Clock" in the widgets screen and none of the clocks work now. Was I suppose to have a flip clock already on the homescreen or wouldn't it have mattered?
Guess I'll nandroid back, was looking forward to the flips

Exact same thing happened to me haha, you're not alone.
As soon as you remove the clock from the home screen you lose it for good.
tdb,
love this flippin' clock!
been wantin' one since i got my incredible way back in April.
thanks, man.

thats some bullllsht! oh well... I'm sure a fix is coming. The Desire HD sys dump is only a few hours old...
Left a Flip Clock on the homescreen on SkyRaider 3.1 Sense and flashed the zip and it worked.

Yeah did some testing and found out the same thing. Updated OP.
Also, don't try and go into the digital clocks on the widget screen after flashing, it will break it and make it not flip again.
Kinda too buggy for my tastes right now, but it does in fact work. Thanks thatdudebutch!
I always wanted it to flip too haha. Works great but like someone already said, going back into digital clocks in the widget screen will break it. FC's when I try to add the clock back to my home screen now
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
Gonna try this with Revolution Theme on Virtuous 2.7.
Wish me luck!
Update: So far so good! it flips really fast though. Faster than WM w/ Sense.
I like that it flips when you refresh the time by waking the phone or going back to the home screen.
working on Uncommon Sense (v0.8 Beta)
Thanks

How to set up Sense 3.0 lock screen

I'm on the new leedroid ROM with the sense 3.0 lock screen. I would like to add the app shortcuts but just don't know how... Any help on this would be great. Thanks
Nothing huh? :-(
Can't be done until a full Sense 3.0 port is done. The framework is needed, and all ROMs as of right now, even with Sense 3.0 elements, still use Sense 2.1 framework.
AH! Thanks!
Fortunately it appears that day is very soon. Capychimp is working on it right now.

Installing Sense 4.0 Roms

I am currently running ARHD 6.6.4 and while it's great, I think I'm getting a little tired of Sense 3.6. My question is that, other than the usual superwiping and flashing the zip, is there anything else I need to do to? I already have the 3.32 firmware.

rather than superwipe..use "format all partitions except sdcard" form 4EXT->wipe|format
that option is very well supported when changing roms
What ROM's are you using?
I've installed this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25154538&postcount=8637
There is already several things that I miss from 3.6.
For instance the application list when pulling down the notifications screen.
Also do I miss the quick settings menu and the task manager. Are these missing only in this port, or is it actually removed as default from the original "Sense 4" ROM on "HTC One X" ?

You don't really need task manager.... Just long press the home ui button
Sent from my Sensation using XDA
I know that this is possible, but you get no cpu/memory statistics or possibility to force close the applications from the program list you'll brows from the home button.
The question was not for if i need them or not.
You don't need chocolate, but you want it and eat it non the less.
It's all about how you actually work with your phone and how you use it.
These features (program list, quick settings and task manager) were really nice, easy and quick to access. So I am really wondering what HTC are doing if they actually are removing nice to have features that's neither bloaty, confusing or in the way.
The question are still if this is actually the same for the original One X ROM and all the other Sense 4 phones, or if this is just removed from the ported ROM?

Hi !
ARHD is definitely a great ROM but one grows tired of the Sense 3.6 look. I really enjoy the deSensed look of some ROMs but those were still buggy. So, the nicest , most balanced alternative I found so far is SharkDrOiD S3 v1.4 which has, I think, all the features you're looking for.
You might want to try it out.
Cheers !

No-sense & incoming calls.

I am running ARHD with sense removed.
Now when someone calls me i have to unlock screen to see who calls me. Very inconvenient.
Also when having lockscreen on i have to Unlock first with pin or pattern before i can see who is calling. Double annoying.
Anything to flash to fix?
Beamed from my Senny..
known bug with AOSP lockscreen on sense roms but I dont think there is a known fix. Maybe try a CM/AOSP/AOKP rom if you dont want sense?
Im faithful to ARHD.. what i use is Nova launcher, and i froze the Sense with Titanium. But the Sense lockscreen is still intact so i just stick with that then.
Thanks for reply.

i would say try reflashing the stock kernel but the issue may be within the actual rom. I would try another non-sense rom. I have tended to like the Sense4 roms they seem to run smoother for me and i have no basic needs but i like the personalization. i have ViperS from team venom.

The issue is within the AOSP lockscreen as I said in post 2, its a known bug and present on all sense based roms if you have AOSP lockscreen activated

[Q] Fresh intall of Fallout V5.0. What should I do ?

Well, after waiting quite a while on Endymion ROM, I've now flashed Fallout V5.0. Considering this is a fresh install, what other Mods/apps should I flash/install ? Also, what settings should I change ? I'm looking for stability as this will be my day to day ROM. Smart Ass v2 ?
And also, a huge thank you to Lowveld for the awesome ROMs that he produces. Your efforts are appreciated by all. :good:
EDIT: What launchers do you reccommend ? I was using Holo launcher... Looking for something different. Preferably theme-able.
and sorry for so many questions.

Congrats!
Currently I'm using:
amidabuddha's newest kernel (which is the new version of what is included in Fallout 5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845039
Jellybean animations http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765418
For launcher, definitely Apex. I use it all the time, on every ROM. It's worth buying the PRO version if you like it, gives you more options (like unread email/text notifications)
As I'm using Apex, I use itandy's HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874228
I use Smartass v2, but still playing around with that kind of thing. Basically, just read and play around, it's your phone!

Alrighty, I have flashed the JB animations. Don't plan on flashing the new Kernel.. Theres not much point. The one in Fallout V5.0 should suffice. I don't want to chance bricking the phone for no reason.
I have one more question... What is the point of the HTC Lockscreen thing ? Will it remove Sense launcher and keep the Sense lockscreen working ? I don't really need the pull ring and stuff. Will be happy using another lock screen alternative(GO locker). Is it possible to completely remove Sense considering I'll be using Apex launcher ?

There is little chance of bricking whilst flashing a kernel, though don't quote me on that. It's there if you find battery life suffers, and it's good to have the newest version of these things.
As for the HTC Lockscreen thing, unless you use widgetlocker or something, you'll always have the ring unlock thing. If you use an alternate launcher, you won't have shortcuts on your lockscreen - itandy's mod fixes that. Read the thread - you have to disable Rosie to install it. If you don't want Sense at all it might be worth trying a different ROM!

Cool, thanks for that. I have a problem though... Play Store keeps crashing ! Can't even get it opened. I have logged into my Gmail account... Should I try downloading and flashing GAPPS ?

I suggest clearing the play store's cache, or the whole /cache partition in recovery!

Wiped Play's cache and it worked ! Thanks !
Very stable
Fallout v5.0 seems to be very stable with really no issues.
Using it is a daily driver is a breeze.
I believe all the necessary mods for a rom has already been included by the developer, like rosie fixes and options to get certain sense 3.6 animations and the ability to reasonably overclock and underclock the CPU.
I also like the way how we can avoid most third party apps like fastburst camera and most photo editing software as these features are inbuilt in the rom.
Just waiting for the jellybean version of something similar to come
