[Q] Default Music Player (bluetooth issues) - HTC Inspire 4G

My current ROM is CoreDroid v3.3 (latest froyo).
My preferred music player/interface is jukefox. When it is active it accepts media commands from a bluetooth device just fine. But when I turn off the screen, or when another app takes the focus, the bluetooth media commands invoke the default media player instead of jukefox. Both players will actually run at the same time playing 2 songs on top of each other.
I searched the forums and didn't find much along these lines. Also searched Google and found many users with the same issue regarding other music players on other phones. Seems to be a general Android issue instead of phone specific.
Anyone know if it is possible for a non-stock media player to override the default music app when bluetooth media commands are sent?
I'm about to try CoreDroid v8.1 to see if any of this is resolved.
EDIT: CoreDroid v8.1 did solve it! Sorry for junking up the forum.

[Q] Problems Playing Audio (Requires Reboot)

Here is the problem I'm having. I'll attempt to listen to music via any type of music player. I've used winamp, amazon mp3, Google Music, and also the stock music player. Each of them will tell me they have a problem playing the file I select but each program does show all of my music listed. My music is stored in /sd_card/media if that helps.
So if I reboot my phone and then attempt to play music then it typically works. I normally have to do this at least once a day. I"m using the latest Infused ROM but I was having this problem with stock rom as well.
I was curious if anyone else was having this problem and if there was any solutions that you might recommend.

Navigation sound issues

I've been toying with different music players, and all of them except the stock music player (as far as I know) on my Sensation 4G (the tmobile one) do not play nicely with Navigation.
When the music cuts out on the stock app, the music pauses, navigation says the direction, and music resumes normally. However, when using a non-stock music player (AFAIK) it will pause the music, faintly (almost inaudible) say what I can only assume is the direction, and then resume the music. Has anyone else experienced this issue and, more importantly, know how to fix it outside of just using the stock music player?
NOTE: I don't think it's Sensation specific, as a thunderbolt user has the same issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114107.

Yes, I have the same problem in a different way. I have downloaded a "Svox" TTS & when I have the navigaton in background while the Youtube streaming on top, the navigation is almost can't be heared so I will go back to the stock TTS & see the result.
+1 copiliot/google maps with anyplayer (stock, playerpro, etc)
also had this issue on desire and SG2. Did fix it once by installing a newer CM7 and full wipe, what changed I dunno!

[Q] Music playing related questions - some answers - another question

I posted this in the old Atrix 4G forum, before this existed. I now have an a partial answer to C. More comments / questions embedded.
I just came from the Windows Mobile world and needed to research how to listen / watch live streams.
A) Trying to listen to streaming audio (mp3) from a webpage. Leaving the web browser stops the audio. Besides trying to find the stream in a separate program, is there a browser (or other way) to keep the music playing?
B) Is there a way to keep the music streaming with the screen off (to save battery power)?
>>Item A/B I have yet to find a webbrowser which will continue to play in the background or stream with the screen off. Other music programs do work.
C) Is there a way to get embedded WMV/WMA (http/mms/.wmv/.wma/.asx/.asp) to stream, embedded or kicked off from a webpage?
I still can't fine a program which a browser will kick off if the browsers doesn't support it internally for an embedded media file. Any ideas?
Regarding entering in URLs directly. Using XiiiaLive I am able to stream a *.pls file and *.asx file. And in order to get the *.asp file to work, I'm able to open the file in a webbrowser, which then kicks off XiiiaLive and it works.
Unfortunately, it only plays the audio of video streams (even an *.wma) and on a recorded stream, you still can't fastforward or rewind. This is the only program I have found on the market that seems to support the various playlists / wrappers. I haven't found such a player for video.
In order to play WAV voicemail files in email, I used Remote Wave. It currently has a bug, that you need to kill it between uses. They are working on it.
I have been using the phone during my runs and out of 6 runs I have yet to have music last the whole time. I have used iheart and I have used the radio and both times after about 15-25 mins it will stop. Don't know.if lose signal or if runkeeper is doing it but it pisses me off.
Do you have task manager set to kill any apps or your music player. If so that could be the cause.
No. Why would that help? Think too many going on so system shuts it down?
No I had similar problems with my OG. When I set it to kill a few apps I had accidentally set it to automatically shut off my music payer also and it drove me crazy till I found it.

The Quest for an Android Music player that does A2DP bluetooth and a lockscreen

Ok Folks before you flame me, please allow me to elaborate:
yes, i DID search (but couldn't find anything specific).
yes, I DID try several things on my own (see below for details)
yes, the things I'm looking for in specific seem to not exist in one package.
Ok, with that disclaimer, the setup
AT&T Galaxy note running Black Star V2 with Apex Launcher 1.2.2 / Android ICS 4.04. (Please note that these issues ALSO APPLY TO THE STOCK Gingerbread software that came with the phone).
Ok folks in short, I am looking for a music player that can do ALL 3 of the following (every single music player I tried, and I tried tens literally does 1 or 2 out of the following list, but not all):
1.) Pin-lock friendly lock screen music controls (my email is an Exchange acount which enforces a pin lock) [Poweramp does this well]
2.) Persistent player controls even when no music is playing (this is VERY helpful to start playing music after a while) [Cloudskipper is the only player I know of that does this!]
3.) Full bluetooth track / ID3 streaming to the stereo. I don't think this issue has to do with the bluetooth stack because the stock player and/or Google Play music both work. However, their UI (and/or lock screens suck big time)!
Software I have tried:
MixZing
CloudSkipper
Stock Android music player
Google play Music player
Apollo
doubletwist
Winamp
Poweramp
Rocket Music Player
Zimly
Songbird
PlayerPro
n7player
MusicXmatch
NRG Player
Astro Player
(and more that I can't remember off the top of my head).
Can someone please help?
PS: Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. I had no idea where to post it.
I'd settle for option 3 only. I don't like the stock player either, but it's the only one that sends the music info to my carkit.
I haven't tried as much as you, but I haven't found any yet that do this.
Im with you dude, It would be nice if I could see what songs are being played on my deck. But android doesnt seem to be able to send that data.
If the stock player fulfills all your needs, except for the lockscreen, why not try installing widgetlocker as your lockscreen and using a music widget of your choice?

[Q] [AVRCP] Many many questions

Hey guys - let me explain my situation first:
Devices:
Nexus 5, CM 12 (5.0.2 Nightly)
KDC-BT53U (Car Stereo)
Using the default CM-Media Player (Eleven Music), my car stereo works fine and displays every single bit of information via avrcp (title, artist, album -all working fine).
HOWEVER, when using Google Play Music, i can absolutely not get the text metadata to work. All the controls (Pause, next, ...) work fine, but there is absolutely no text visible at all.
The reason i have to use Google Play Music is because i'm using Tasker and AutoShare in order to start certain playlist(s) - which i can't manage to do with Eleven Music.
I have also tried to "force display" some text via sending an AVRCP-Intent (from the AutoShare homepage) which also shows no results.
Which leads us to my questions:
What the hell is wrong with Google Play Music?
Can i get Eleven Music to play certain playlists via intent?
Is there a way to get manual AVRCP Intents to work (might turn out useful for other tasks in the future)?

I wish I had a solution for you. I have a stock Nexus 5 and recently purchased the kdc-x998 (car stereo). I cannot for the life of me get any metadata to display on the receiver. My understanding is the x998 has avrcp 1.3, I cannot figure out what version the N5 has. Controls (play/pause, next) work fine, which are a function of avrcp 1.0. Most people that I am encountering in other forums report that their metadata worked fine up until Android 4.2-ish, at which point Google changed from BlueZ to Bluedroid for handling bluetooth. I don't know if this is the issue. The fact that you get it work using CM's player is unusual. I wonder if that player implements different intents than Google Play Music? FWIW, I can't get metadata from Play Music, Pandora, or iheartradio, the only three programs I've tried. Very frustrating......
