Samsung was so kind and sent me an Infuse 4G to help me developing for it. Thanks Samsung Mobile Korea
Infuse use a beautiful huge 4.5" Super AMOLED Plus screen.. But its driven with Galaxy S screen settings optimized for non "Plus" aka Pentile matrix screens.
That's why by default everything is over-sharpened, colors over-saturated.
I added preliminary support today for much more faithful screen settings in my one of my in-dev apps "Voodoo Screen Tuning", available for free on Android Market.
Please take a look at the app description, and have fun testing this app!
I need your feedback, so.. see you soon.
Device not supported haha fyi
Sent from my CM7 Infuse via XDA-premium
went to market, saw voodoo screen tuning dev channel......
Downloaded and opened it up, says my device is not recognized.
Im running MiUi 10.21 build
Hmm, is anybody running Samsung firmware and not CM?
Now accepts in "infuse4g" device name (CM7) in snapshot 19 − not tested
It installed and is working for me. Will update later.
I'm not a developer but I try to play one on XDA. Seriously I'm not a developer. DlevROM Yo!
works fine here
Note: settings don't stick after reboot yet.
Running the KJ2 leak, and as soon as I applied the settings, there was a noticeable color change. It looks better in my opinion, the colors aren't as over-saturated as before, but still look amazing.

I'll test this tonight...
BTW, since you now have an Infuse - Is there a specific reason that the Infuse does not have speaker tuning functionality in Voodoo Sound?
And also - where is the documentation for said functionality? What I know right now from reviewing the kernel patches is that it is disabled in the Voodoo Sound implementation for the Infuse but enabled for all first-generation GalaxyS devices - is it omitted by intention or accidentally? This open question kept Voodoo Sound from being merged into a few kernel devs' main trees for a month or so. (We eventually said, "screw it, worst case it's missing a feature" and merged.)
I have tried to find documentation on the speaker tuning functionality so I can investigate this anomaly myself, but it seems not to exist anywhere.
Thanks works great in stock Rogers ROM with InfusionGB CORE-A

I just installed this to take a look. It has a basic AOSP (Android Open Source Project) look and feel. This is not unlike the look of CyanogenMod 6.0. Indeed according to the github it uses some of the same source. This is pure android, you won't find any sense here!
Anyway pretty impressive.
It appears to work well for standard hardware, but like CM 6 does not yet have the newer features of the EVO (HDMI, 4G) implemented. These are taking several very good coders a lot of hours to build. This is not a knock on this rom.
I did notice there a a few theme links available on the site, but I didn't try them.
This could be interesting and well worth watching.

The kernel is not overclocked and apparently still capped at 30 fps. I got 30 fps with a stdev of 5.11. The quadrant score was 1403, pretty darn good for not overclocked and I didn't shut down a lot of services to try to get a better number (just used SetCPU set to 998 MHz and performance).
If you want to give this a try, be sure to do a nandroid first. As well, there is a separate zip for the google apps [emerald-1.1.1-gapps-update.zip]. Grab both the main zip and the gapps, flash the main [emerald 1.1.1-update.zip] and follow it with the google apps, then reboot. Of course, you will ned a full wipe!
This could be interesting and well worth watching.

A MIUI port seems to be slowly in the works at http://miui.us
As for CM7, from what i hear people are waiting on CM to fully support 2.3.4 before a port of it comes to the NS4G.
I do hope we see some more devs hopping on the NS4G bandwagon.
It's just a case of giving it time. We waited around 3 months for MIUI Nexus S originally.
Ya, I'm coming from an Evo so I'm really used tl the huge Dev support which is funny because the Nexus S is dubbed as THE Google phone.

Coming from the Epic, waiting is a hobby of mine at this point.. Glad I'm on the Nexus S line now which seems to have a much better development pace.. I've yet to have a phone that can even run a CM or MIUI that isn't an alpha version and barely runs.
Ya seems like Samsung never had the developer base HTC has had/still has. It's definitely going to be hard to adjust to the lack of things to flash, mainly CM7... I am yet to come across a rom as amazing as CM6/7

Hello,
We are making another update for Honeycomb Launcher. As many of you may know, it suddenly disappeared from the Android Market. But you can thanks Google for that... Anyways, we are going to upload it again because Google didnt like ICS not HCL.
In version V1.7.0.0 the launcher became alot smoother and a whole lot less FC's occured since we rebuilt the launcher. But now we want to make another update and we want to add more features/add ons. Now we are making a standard version and a PLUS version. I know some of you may not like this, but dont worry! HCL standard will remain the same and nothing will be taken out. HCL Plus (+) will have more to it such as add ons. But we are not sure what you all want!
We are wondering what "you" want in it! Such as pre installed apps, more wallpapers, and tweaks...
What do you want us to add? If you want your wallpaper to be in the launcher, just post it here and we will include it with your name so it shows as yours
Thanks,
Team Syndicate

Can't wait for the plus version. When I think of a decent suggestion I'll post it. Thanks

Love the most recent version....
Most important thing is working "running apps"
After that:
Smoother home screen previews (I don't like the white)
Different transitions (I used go launcher for a long time because the the cube).
Love something different and unique like spb shell or Regina launcher.
I'm used to opening apps drawer on the bottom of the screen....its hard to reach my thumb to the top
Pinch previews
Unique Widgets?
Any good dark 3d wallpapers.
Ability to pin an app to running apps.
If I think of anything else ill let you know.
Great work....cheers!

Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Uh.... you can't jump "bump" the megapixels up. The hardware has to support it. And as far as we all know, the G2x has an 8 megapixel camera. The only phone that I'm aware of with a good 12 megapixel camera is the Nokia N8. I think that's actually the only "mainstream" phone with a megapixel count that high.

And Megapixels aren't even important, it all has to do with the camera sensor.
I think the G2x has a sweet cam. I get compliments all the time. I also take lots of shots in dark places and typically come out better then expected.
And the Dev section was never abandoned. I think the Sensation hype is over and lots of people have returned back to the G2x (told ya so). There are tons of Roms ranging from Custom Stock builds, CM7-Kangs, and MIUI builds.

Agreed. The only issue I have is no auto focus (for video), making it hard to take any close-up shots in video mode. I finally have a great camera to record with, but no close ups of text (which sucks if you're doing reviews).
As for development, i'm glad to see it. I've been rooted for a month but haven't tried any ROMs yet because while I may love testing software out on my computer, testing out ROMs on my life support (aka, smartphone) i'm a little more cautious. I gotta get over that fear. Been leaning towards Weapon G2x and the new CM7 stable release. Just gotta find somewhere to get that extra push
Always had buyers remorse ever since day one. Still did when the whole reboot issue just exploded.
Also figured out this device even with all its fault, is still great. I am glad that device ironed out all the bugs and fixes. Still, the phone was great overall and got back to CM7.
The one thing I miss is myTouch 4G stability. That was my previous phone. This one is getting there. Glad development is alive and well.
Yea BOY! The G2X is alive!
Its even more active now with all the ports. Someone is even porting LG optimus 2x layout.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
I recently got into flashing ROMs, and it's been awesome. I tried a few, and settled with Weapon. It's freaking awesome.
I think the G2x has more advantages than most of the recently released phones. It's got an awesome speakerphone, screen is not so big that it draws a lot of batt., but not small either, all the ROM devs making stable, mature ROMs to choose from, and I'm getting some amazing battery life (at idle, about 1.5% drop, per hour).
Keep up the good work guys!
It's ALIVE

Actually, with AT&T already giving the Vivid the ICS update, I'd say that this could be pretty realistic.
At least we know if it doesn't come soon, it's not AT&T, it's Samsung.
ICS has not been released for the Vivid. That is someone talking out of turn (a dedicated tester or volunteer tester). That realease would be all over Android Central and our website.

Sometimes you'll even get a text informing you that your phone has an update available.
Another question for the updates, is it only for carrier sold phones? I bought mine at the US but I'm at Israel and I still haven't received the 2.3.6 update.
Very good news, will open development of some nice ROM's. Maybe it will keep me from flashing once or twice a week.
I doubt it. We'll see though, hopefully they surprise.

To throw my two cents in, the fact that SGSII international is getting it soon and supposedly Vivid is getting it now is a good sign for us.
However, I really don't like TouchWiz's overlay of ICS. To me one of the main features of ICS was a revamped and slick look. TouchWiz 4 just kills that. So what do I, personally (and anyone who feels the same) have to look foward to with ICS?
This is coming from an Android noob btw, so if there was extra features besides the FaceUnlock *useless imo* and sleek UI please enlighten me.

The real benefit will be the Kernel getting into the hands of the Devs. In time, they will do many thing with it including a non-Touchwiz version ROM.

Love how they mention that leaked roms from Samsung are showing signs of progress. My question is, WHERE ARE THE ICS LEAKS FOR THE SKYOCKET?!?
When I had my Captivate we were getting new gingerbread leaks almost every day for several months. Who do we need to talk to to get some leaks for us? Anyone know???

From what I understand ICS is completely redone. There are alot of new code and things done different from previous versions of Android. I can understand why nothing has really been released yet. I know there is a couple versions of ICS over in the development section but there are very few things that work.
