CM7 Theme Chooser themes are not device specific (except for maybe HDPI/MDPI)

ok then maybe im missunderstanding, i thought Themes (other than Miui) had to be made for phone a Certain phone. Like if you made a theme for CM7 on the captivate, you couldnt use that theme on the infuse.
Is this not correct??
Edit---NeverMind didnt see the Not device specific part.
Thanks bunches, this is really the only reason why i was sticking with Miui

Incorrect -- as long as they are HDPI capable (which is what your Infuse is, and most themes are), the device doesn't matter.
CM7 Theme Chooser is an APP that re-maps graphics for the existing framework (and other apps)
Modifying the framework and systemui directly IS device specific, however.

How do you guys tell which theme can be applied to which ROM?
Seems like most of this stuff is for Sense type roms?
Which btw, if it says 2.1 sprint its not compatible with AOSP/Cyanogem mods, right?
Just seems like if you go with something like buufed your stuck with the default themeing?
Guess I'm not wrapping my head around the community here...
Can you show which themes you are talking about? If you read the first post of them they will say what they work with....
using the catalog
Just click on the name of the theme and the post will tell you if it will work or not.

I saw this theme on the android theme section but its for t-mobile phones. Its made for CM7. Would be great if someone can port it to our version of CM7 RC1. Here is the link so you can see how it looks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943423

It works just fine for us, its just called the T-Mobile theme engine since they developed it, just download the apk and install, I've been using it for a while now along with his adw theme.
Thanks! I guess I let the T-Mobile thing throw me off a bit!

MIUI for g1? Is it possible?

Hey you guys I was just looking at miui 2.3.4 video, and its just amazing... I was wondering if it is possible to port miui to the g1? If not, why? If yes, why don't we as a community do it, i mean we got gingerbread and gingerbread sense to work on our 3 year old phone.. I don't see why we can't MIUI as well?
For those of you who have never seen MIUI.. just watch this.. and you'll see why i am so anxious to get this ported to our devices:

After using MIUI, on my MT4G, I have doubts about it being ported to the G1. For starters MIUI is closed sourced, by the Chinese Devs....Next you'll have to find a Dev who would port it from a supported device with MIUI. And only HDPI phones have MIUI, AFAIK. So the chances are very slim, MIUI is of course, quite hefty like Ginger but with even more features. You will also need drivers for MIUI to work on the G1, the G1 shares no HW drivers with MIUI supported phones, so that too has to be sorted, then the images may look distorted when shrunk for the smaller screen and such. Best bet would to get a newer phone w/ MIUI support, or get the Millet M1, Miui phone.

Yea you are correct on that, its only for HDPI devices, and its closed source...but i cant see why we can't do it.. if we get enough developers to work on this, i think we can actually do it..

You will need to find some dedicated devs then, I haven't been it this section for almost a year, but from what I see there aren't many G1 devs left. Which is to be expected from the 1st ever Android phone in the world.

I know, but we can get help from the magic devs since their phone is almost like ours. And other devs from other devices can help too. Just as long as we get it ported.

DelsaDj started the work on MIUI last year but left after a couple of alpha versions.
Then JunkDruggler developed MIUI theme (available in the market) which almost ended the need for a full rom.
MIUI launcher (xda) and QQ launcher pro (android market) perform almost all functions of MIUI rom.
Currently iMagic rom is being worked on by jCarrz and ThauExodus. It is exactly same as. MIUI, but fitted to work on G1.
So alot of effort has been put into it and it's still underway. Threads can be found in G1 development section.

General question about CM7 now that it's here

Hey I was just wondering if its possible for users to theme cm7? I like the speed of it however I miss the transparency of the notification pull down and the dialer and so dark and ugly. I'm just wondering if it is possible and if so do you see a lot of users contributing themes to cm7? Thanks!
Its very possible. Cm7 has built in theme support, just check out the included theme chooser" app. There are many themes on the market and also cyanogenmod forums. They don't all include transparency of course but one which does that I like is cyanbreadx available free on the market.

I just downloaded it! Like it a lot. I had no idea themes would be on the market lol. I figured because it just came out there would have to be theme specific for the Sensation but I guess since CM7 is relatively the same on every phone they can just have themes that work for cm7 and not the phone specific. Any other good ones??

You just made me so happy. I was disappointed that the standard CM7 theme didn't have the CM light blue color replacing the green for the phone/messaging icons as well as the battery/data/wifi signal in the status bar but thanks to your post I just looked at the theme chooser app and found the "cyanbread" theme that had exactly what I was looking for.

I'm using mau5 at the moment. No transparency but it kind of turns me on. There are a load and tried quite a few a while back but I'm very happy with mau5 and cyanbreadx myself. Check the market for "cyanogenmod" or "cm7" and try a few yourself. Its a mater if personal tastes really.

I personally prefer the circlesmod's, they are all the theme i need
I have a link to a mod thread of mine in my signature, I'll be dablling in themechooser themes here soon... including adw themes, iconpacks etc... I'm JUST getting started creating things for the phone, I'm good with psp, just gotta figure out formatting for our resolution. Enjoy themeing!

ICS Theme for the Triumph anybody?

I'll start by dumping, well, these framework resources for anybody interested. So you don't have to download the android SDK etc.

I also don'r really like the Ice Cream Sammich launcher available on Android Marketplace right now, mostly because of that dumb (and relatively useless) row of buttons at the bottom. So I'm also looking for a stockier version of the launcher... the dumb thing is giant too, so here it is.

The ICS launcher made me sad because of those three icons on the bottom. Maybe it's just me but they totally don't need to be there. Searching for an ics task switcher?

There is a theme for cm7 in the general Android forum. The theme sub forum. You just download an apk and it comes up in your theme chooser.

If anybody is still interested, Sonny Sekhon on the android market has a nice theme for HDPI and MDPI devices. I use the MDPI theme on my Optimus V and intend to use the HDPI theme when I switch to a Triumph in a few months.
I can't post links as I've been lurking for so long and this is my first post, but a Market search for Sonny Sekhon will find it. It's pretty awesome. Couple it with launcher themes and widget themes, and it's the closest I'm ever going to come to ICS until/if we see an actual ICS port.
Edit: Apparently this isn't my first post. Guess I forgot about that one. Still can't post links, though.
