I was able to successfully root my phone following all steps with my 2.3 updated software. Problem is once I rooted and flashed a rom on it, now its says I am at 2.2. I'm trying to re download the game "Sprinkle" and unsuccessful in doing that because it says my phone is not compatible.
HELP please
i put on ultimate G2X rom, is that 2.2? I failed to pay attention to that part.

no, it will start to smoke and emit huge sparks that will get into your eyes, rendering your g2x useless to you,so i'll take it.

Yes, but not with Superoneclick as it doesn't work with the update from LG. Assuming you have Clockwork Mod Recovery through NVflash, (great instructions http://www.techofweb.com/technology/flashing-cwm-recovery-g2x.html , simply flash a pre-rooted version of this update from xboarder54 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748
1 click nvflash app to install clock work .
download rooted 2.33 rom or nandriod backup and flash
in clock work.
works fine..
now i have updated baseband on cm7 rom

trying to restore LG-P999-V10f/--i get--MD5 mismatch while trying to unroot. I already restored to a nandroid running 2.2 can I just run the LG update or must I unroot in order to update baseband? Will I be able to unroot if I update using LG (I have DW model). Help please.
Funny thing is I have been with Android since the G1. I have yet to root any of my android phones. I know, I'm a noob. I'm trying to learn how to root my G2x recently but want to make sure I find something solid so my phone will work 100% or close to that. Now that we have GB, I would assume the devs are updating their ROMs so I'm reading up to see what's the new or hot ROM for the G2x. If anyone can point me in the right direction or have some time to school this noob - I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Can someone please help me with this? I used the LG Updater because Gingerbread is out now and it says im already updated but i still have froyo. My g2x is rooted.
Bring your g2x back to stock rom u can get it from the forums in g2x development as long as ur in Stock u can upgrade using ur phones software update/about phone. It works i did it yesterday
As long as ur in stock it doesnt matter if ur phone is rooted.
yes u must have the stock rom and stock recovery, so no cwm! and i was also rooted
I had CWM it worked fine, afterwards I didn't have cwm anymore.

Okay, i currently have a rooted T-Mobile G2X with stock ROM
It was rooted with SuperOneClick
Just saw the LG driver update here:
http://wwwstg.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/G2X-Driver/index.jsp
From what im hearing, LG released an update for Gingerbread which is there.
I have questions though:
On Step 2 on the LG site, it says to backup important stuff, what do they mean? is this a factory reset?
I heard people lossed the old Camera app which im surprised LG would do, what really happened to the Camera app?
Am i able to root the phone again? I know SuperOneClick has Gingerbreak but i wanna be sure i can root. I dont feel like loosing Titanium Backup
Anything else i should know? NO im not going to CyanogenMod because it looses almost all G2X features. Any tips or something?
Thanks!
EDIT: Ohh yea, when i tried to do a "Software Update Check," it always says "Connection failed" on both WiFi and 3G... is it because im rooted?

I'm pretty sure they pulled the update since so many people bricked there phones.
Yes the camera apparently is gone but xda members got it working just gotta flash the zip they made
Since you still have root you should be able to flash the rooted ota with cwm

Flashed Gingerbread successfully, no bricking device or anything but the Gingerbread theme is horrible.
I lost my root and SuperOneClick freezes with Windows 7. I may revert back to Froyo
I'm absolutely happy with the 2.3.5 BUT i some how lost access to my SuperUser.. Does anyone know what additional software to root 2.3.5 gingerbread for Samsung Infuse? I would deeply appreciate the help
You can't root 2.3.5
As far as I know, the only way you can root 2.3.5 at the moment is to install JordanElliott's 2.3.5 rom (UCKJ1). You'll need clockworkmod rom manager to flash the rom and then the stock kernal to fix the wifi. It was relatively painless.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297693
So wait, did we get an Official 2.3.5? I'm somewhat confused.

I haven't seen anything about an official release. The latest leak makes it seem like we are really close though since it includes a bootloader.
I'm sure when the sources are released and the real update is out everyone will know

A. look for threads with titles about the firmware toy are running, b. look for threads about issues rooting, c. How are you running 2.3.5? Did you flash it? Did it get pushed to your phone? Did you buy it like that? Did you buy it new?
If you flashed it with Odin and can't figure this out or find the answer i'm in awe, the answer is in every leak thread so far but the question keeps coming up.
Use SuperOneClick v2.2 and use zergRush as the exploit.
Heck...where dud u get 2.3.5? I want it..lol...yea SOC works good...

i got it from a guy on youtube, type in "Tutorial-samsung infuse" an its an indian fella doing a walkthrough and has the links for it. BUT i cant root my phone because of the update... I tried the zergrush with superoneclick and it locked up on my computer.
ANY suggestions
OK I saw the video.
1. This is not an official update.
2. This is a leaked firmware.
3. Try using super one click on a different PC.

Are you on the roger's networks...?
Use doomlord's zergRush exploit from here

It takes a little time but eventually works!!

The Infuse was not listed as one of the supported device.
Did you try this on the infuse?
Which gb leak did you try it on?

I am having issues updating my phone to 2.3.4. I have tried the LG Launcher but it is saying that my phone is currently up to date. I also tried updating my phone through the settings menu, but it did not work either because my phone is up to date. I want 2.3.4 to fix my bugs. Please help me? I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum or if this is already a discussed topic.
You need a custom from for 2.3.4 u can't get it from lg
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Custom firmware I assume? T-Mobile said they are sending it out to people who haven't received the update though. I really don't want to root my phone because 1. I don't want any files that will give me viruses. 2. I don't know how to root phones. 3. I want ICS.
1. viruses still aren't an issue with android 2. its not hard to learn 3. I can almost guarantee you we'll get a custom ics rom well before before an official update, if official ever actually happens.

The OTA being pushed is 2.3.3 not 2.3.4, it is being redone for the users that did not get it the first time.
The G2x does not have an "official" update from LG to android 2.3.4. If you want 2.3.4 you have to root and flash a custom rom.
