How do I remove a theme if I do not like it?
Thanks
If you did a nandroid before flashing the theme than nandroid restore.
If not just flash whatever ROM you're using again without wipe.

Hi Noobie question here, when I bought my TF it was already flashed. Currently on Revolver. How do I reflash the rom?
-Download the ROM and move it to your micro SD card (the removable one)
-Boot into CWM recovery
-Chose "Install zip from sdcard"
-Chose zip from sdcard
-Scroll to the ROM zip file and flash
-Reboot

Thanks sounds simple enough, last question what is the differences in flashing a nvflash version and a non nvflash version?

I think I answered my own question....it allows one to fully recover their device if you run into any trouble.
Well actually the ROM itself is the same no matter the method you use.
NVFlash version is simply using NVFlash to install the ROM and the CWM zip is install via the CWM recovery method.
Not sure but I think NVFlash will wipe all data?
CWM recovery if flashing ROM only without a wipe will save your data.
Use CWM to make a nandroid backup jsut in case.

I downloaded the Touchwiz theme in revolver parts and applied it. I post screen shots in a bit
That's weird usually flashing the ROM only will put it back to normal.
I don't use Revolver parts so hopefully someone come in with an answer

Alright I hated the touch Wiz theme and so i found a solution. Its a bit annoying but you don't lose anything (note: i did not and there was no issues for me, I can not guarantee the same for you). Boot into recovery and install any 3.6 version of revolver. Reboot and make sure the theme is gones. Then just re flash 3.7.2 and your golden.

Hello to all,
I've been coming to this forum a lot lately, and I'm interested in rooting and installing roms. I'm new at this so bare with me. I so far now how to root, and I'm reading now on how to install a rom. The question is how do I make a back up of my stock rom? do I need to? I backed up all my important files on my sd card. Are there any more things to know about rooting and installing roms?
I'm really interested in trying syndicate Rom.
Also great jobs to everyone in the Epic fourms. I once was a Evo users but I couldn't pass out on the Epic.
You don't really need to make a backup of your ROM - in fact, I'd suggest not doing so, as you'll be tempted to restore all of /data from it (which tends to cause more problems than it's worth). If you do wish to, simply boot Clockwork - the option is in there (I'd have to check to tell you the exact option, sorry).
Thanks for considering SyndicateROM - with 1.0.2 out, there's no reason not to give it a try ASAP!
That was fast, thanks!
So what if I would like to go back to stock? how would that work?
I do need to format my SD card correct?
Can't wait to try out your rom.

You don't need to format your SD card. If you want to go back to the stock ROM, there are flashable zips posted here. And if you want to go back to the stock ROM and kernel, just use Odin.
does the one click root files have to be on your sd card?

I didn't see you mention that you indeed have Clockworkmod.
Before installing a ROM, and after Rooting, you have to have Clockworkmod installed.
Did you use the Sticky at the top of this form that says Root + Clockworkmod? If so, you should have it and all you need to do is boot into recovery (Hold Vol-down + camera + power). And if the letters are in green, your good to go. If the letters are in Blue, you don't have clockwork.
To make a backup, go to Backup and restore in Clockwork, and press Backup.
It'll take about 5 minutes. After you make your backup, find the .zip on your SDcard through clockworkmod and flash the ROM.

Okay, if you've got green text, you have Clockwork. Choose 'wipe data/factory rest' and then go down to 'install zip from SD card', and choose the ROM zip.

Never mind I got it, installing as we speak.
How do we get back touchwiz? I'm not a fan of LuancherPro.
I would grab an app from the market called home switcher
It's free, and lets you switch launchers as well as set default.
I didn't see which ROM you were flashing, but chances are, you still have TWLauncher
Everytime I try and restore a backup from cwm the phone reboots to the first mytouch boot screen and just stays there. Is there something I'm missing on how to restore a backup? I'm using cwm 3.0.0.5, I make a backup, then when I want to restore it, I wipe data and cache and hit restore backup. Once it's finished, I reboot the phone, then it just sits on the boot screen until I eventually decide to pull the battery.

Clockwork Recovery 3.0.0.5 will work only with 2.3 (gingerbread ROMs).
Since the stock ROM is 2.2.1 you need to use recovery image 2.x.
you are in luck though. re-Flash CM7 download Clockwork ROM Manager scroll to the bottom "All clockwork recoveries" and flash the highest 2.x version they have. Then you can restore your back up without problems.
Thanks, I actually found that exact answer about 10 minutes after I posted this. I did just that, flashed cm7 then flashed cwm 2.x. I wanted to try cm7 anyway, but after an hour just trying to get the market to work, I decided to just go back to good old iced glacier.

Glad it worked out for you, but you (and others who may have this problem) could save yourselves a lot of this by downloading TrueBlue's zip (from development sub-forum) and flash it. It has cwm 3.0.0.6 plus stock TMO recovery.
With CM 3.0.0.6 recovery (thanks to Option94 for that), you can backup/restore both Android 2.2.x (CM6) and 2.3.x (CM7). TrueBlue's thread OP gives you instructions on how to use it.
It is a modified ROM Manager that "disguises" cwm's 3.0.0.6 and the stock Recovery as cwm 3.0.0.5 and 2.5.1.4 respectively.
PS - if you use it - don't forget to "thank" him (and Option94 also).
UPdate - if you subsequently update ROM Manager, it does not wipe out the above scheme with the disguised cwm's - it still works the same (at least through ROM Manager 3.0.1.0).

Ignore all those BS. Go in Market and download Rom Manager 3.0.1.0 and then flash the latest 3.0.0.5 (orange) recovery image. Then place the GAPP anywhere in your SDCard long as you know where it is. Reboot it in to recovery but selecting it from Rom Manager and then when its booted select Install zip from SDCard> Choose zip from SDCard.
Flash the GApp.zip and be done. Just remember when you flash NB via full wipe you have to flash GApp.zip everytime but if you just mount new NB on top of old one then DO NOT flash GApp.zip again as it will still be on your device as it ment to be installed once in that case.

No you didn't do what I said then. Go to Market> Rom Manager (3.0.1.0)> Download/Install. Then run Rom Manager and flash 3.0.0.5(latest not 2.5.1.2/2.5.1.4). If you use 3.0.0.5 you don't have to worry about 3.x(orange) or 2.x(green) as you can run 2.2/2.3 based without changing it.
3.0.0.5 < not Rom Manager its Recovery.
3.0.1.0 < ver of Rom Manager with 3.0.0.5 Recovery frame.
Problem is for people who don't know it get confusing as 3.0.0.5 could mean Recovery and Rom Manager. As normally other software specify and have different type of scheme for framework and software but in this case they both share same number so it gets little confusing.
ok i installed 3.0.1.0 rom manager from market so now i should have no issues when restoring 2.2.1 roms or 2.3 roms?thanks for the help man im coming from a Vibrant that was lost/stolen..that vibrant was so easy to root lol.thanks again

I see alot of news on Honeycomb,Gummycharge etc.. what would be my best bet and what are the advantages chosen one over the other thanks in advance

Close. You don't need to install the previous version (1.9.1) but you can if you want to. You just have to Odin over the latest CWM recovery (this will root your phone). When the 2.0 zip is released then you just place it on your SD card, enter recovery by holding volume up + home + power until the SAMSUNG logo flashes twice and then choose to install zip from SD card. Make sure to do a factory reset, and wipe the cache partition and dalvik cache (under advanced) before flashing the zip in recovery. You may not understand all of that now, but when you're in recovery mode it will make sense.

You don't need to touch Altered Beast unless you want it. I'm fairly certain that using Odin to flash CWM will provide root (I haven't done it in a long while). If it does not, after flashing CWM, just install this zip from your SD card in recovery and that will provide root.

No problem chief. Feel free to post back with any question.
If you are on the stock kernel you will need to boot directly to recovery and flash the SU .zip after odin CMW, or else the recovery will be overwritten by the stock kernel.
Your best bet is to wait till GC FE 2.0 is released, then odin CWM, and boot direct to recovery and flash the 2.0 .zip. then you are done in a couple steps.
That'll work too.
so now the waiting game begins lol

Search for RecoveryInstaller in the Themes and Apps section.
One click CWM installer, don't get any easier than that.
I had the Same issue coming from the nexus s. the tricky bit is that rom manager does not support the transformer. I've got a galaxy tab 10.1 as well and flashing over a custom recovery was easy as pie.
anyway, what you have to do is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1093818)
then you need to install an app (i use reboot2recovery) from the marketplace to get into the custom recovery. i've tried quickboot or rom manager but all it does it take me to a black screen or reboot the device. reboot2recovery will actually drop you into clockworkmod recovery. from there, do your nandroid backup. you'll need an SD card in your transformer for it to actually go ahead with the backup.
aside: from my reading, the backup should backup to internal storage with that modded clockwork. i've never been able to get it to work though. anyway, just use an SD card for now so you can get through the difficult stuff.
so at this point uve done the following:
installed clockwordmod using the first 2 links and installed the reboot2recovery APK to get into recovery.
now you have an SD card in your transformer and you are doing a nandroid backup.
once completed, put the 200+mb revolver rom on the root of your SD card. you may also want to put another kernel. i use the one recommended by revolver.
now just wipe the cache, data, etc as usual. now flash the rom, reboot the system when completed. plug in your gmail account, wifi password etc. and then reinstall the reboot2recovery apk. now reboot to recovery and then flash the kernel. reboot and ure good to go. install revolver parts to allow for additional tweaking and OTA updating.
i got my transformer from bestbuy this thanksgiving and went to revolver 3.9.5 immediately. last night i actually flashed revolver 3.11 right over it. not a single problem.
edit: reading the above post, i remember that my FIRST recovery installation was using that one-click tool and, as was said, it works flawlessly. you still need the reboot2recovery though. and recoveryinstaller WILL NOT install the modified for internal storage version of clockwork. i'm thinking maybe i just havent tried backing up since updating to the internal storage version, which is why i think i've "never gotten it to work"

Awesome, I had tried it earlier and it didn't do anything. Then I realized that my superuser app was FCing, however I could still use adb shell and su just fine! After I realized there was an update for the superuser app, I installed it. Everything is perfect now.

i got my transformer from bestbuy this thanksgiving and went to revolver 3.9.5 immediately. last night i actually flashed revolver 3.11 right over it. not a single problem.
edit: reading the above post, i remember that my FIRST recovery installation was using that one-click tool and, as was said, it works flawlessly. you still need the reboot2recovery though. and recoveryinstaller WILL NOT install the modified for internal storage version of clockwork. i'm thinking maybe i just havent tried backing up since updating to the internal storage version, which is why i think i've "never gotten it to work"

It mean open your command prompt in your computer fire up the ADB server and type

Why why not download the reboot recovery app from the market?

Have you installed CWM recovery?
Rooting alone does not install CWM recovery.

Search for RecoveryInstaller in the Themes and Apps section.
One click CWM installer, don't get any easier than that.

Thx man, you really helped me out today. First with my root/cwm problem and now with this rom.
You really are a great help. Thx again!
All right, my issue is I have no clue in following directionshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777970 that are listed here, I understand how to get to command line, but I am unsure from there, I would love a good detailed instructions or something to help me out. I'm trying to flash a custom rom that requires me to have an updated cwm. Thank you so much and sorry for my noobish question!

its simple man if you have a custom recovery already all you need to do is flash the zip file like any other file you would in CWM.
if you dont have a custom recovery already use odin check out vincoms stickie in the developement page and flash the recovery thru odin and that it . pretty simple

the issue lies in that the only way to install the custom rom is to upgrade my custom recovery to the latest one, and thanks for your response!
EDIT: I researched online and found a method with fastboot and the recovery image, I will try this, is this a wrong method or is it possible?
You don't need fastboot at all if you already have a custom recovery installed. Just download the cwm flashable zip and flash it just like you would a rom (install zip from sd card > choose zip from internal/external > choose the cwm zip and choose install, then choose the recovery option to reboot recovery to boot into the new recovery.

If you have CWM or ClockWork Mod installed on your phone.
----- ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PUT THE CWM TOUCH ZIP FILES ON YOUR EXTERNAL SD CARD AND NOW GO TO RECOVERY MODE AND FLASH IT, GO TO INSTALL FROM SD CARD, I'M PRETTY SURE YOU KNOW IT? OR IF NOT MESSAGE ME I'LL HELP YOU STEP BY STEP.
If you DON'T have CWM.
----- download a cwm and flash it through odin and after having cwm, do that instruction above.

You're all jacked up, dude. Just grab the zip file, place it on your sd card, and flash it in recovery.
