I'm having an issue with Go Launcher Ex and was wondering if anyone has seen it or has had the same issue. My Apps and Widgets are getting removed/moved/copied from home screen to home screen. This is what i did:
added apps and widgets to pages 1 - 5
reboot phone
page 1 looks good
page 2 has page 3 apps/widgets
page 3 is good (default home page)
page 4 has page 5 apps
page 5 sometimes is good, sometimes has page 4 apps
My phone setup:
Infused 2.2.3
Infusion Core A
Universal Adrenaline Shot xix
TransFuzion 2.1 theme
Go Launcher EX as Default launcher
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Skot
I had this as well with dlev but I'm running go now with cm7 and I've had no issues.
If you turn auto rotate off it should solve it. It did for me.

I did not try this yet. I've just been using the built in switcher.
I'll give it a shot. Although, I am thinking about switching over to dlev since Infused is the first ROM I've ever flashed.

yea.. no, i didnt use the desk migrage feature. I did download the Home Manager as recommended by Go Launcher, but they mentioned it was only if you could not set it as default (which is not my problem). My problem still exists after using Home Manager to switch launchers.
and i agree Go Launcher EX is awesome but this home screen thing is killing me. Launcher Pro works but i dont like it as much.
i'm thinking about reflashing the back up i took right after i flashed Infused to get rid of the TransFuzion theme just in case is some kind of compatibility issue and see if i still have the problem.

I don't remember. I messed with it so much. I went ahead and restored my backup without wiping data (which already had TransFuzion installed) and re-installed Go Launcher. Tested it with default settings, seemed fine. Installed the same Go Launcher theme I had before, still seems fine. Now I just have to re-flash my kernel and modem that I had.
I ran go for a while and never had this issue.
I prefer ADW Ex though.
i restored my backup and re-flashed my kernel and modem. everything is good to go now, havent had any more issues.
I'll check out adw. i'm still researching all this stuff, so, i'll try anything twice... because the first time could have just been a bad experience.

Only after I got it stable again. I restored my backup which was Infused 2.2.3 with the TransFuzion theme applied. then installed Go Launcher EX, tested it. then installed Infusion Core A then UCKJ2 modem, tested it. then installed Universal Adrenaline Shot, tested it. Then applied some Go Launcher themes, tested it some more.
It's all stable now, haven't had any issues.
**The only tweak I had on before that I have not applied is the build.prop edits. I may/may not put those in, I haven't decided yet.

I am an AOSP stock experience fan boy so I immediately installed the stock 2.1 launcher on my Epic. Turns out it's ridiculously fast and buttery smooth.
3D effect and 5 home screens are included in this .apk. Root is not required for this to work.
Enjoy!
I think I love you..
Where'd you get that apk?
I don't find it as smooth.. I prefer Launcher Pro.

How does it compare to ADW?
This is nice but whatever happened to advanced launcher? It was a good aosp launcher from the 1.5 days and if I remember right you could hide apps from the drawer. Just a wonderin...

How to Turn Off/Disable TouchWiz:
I assumed not everyone knew this but you can disable the TouchWiz on the Epic:http://phandroid.com/2010/09/01/how-to-disable-touchwiz-on-the-epic-4g/
How to turn TouchWiz off. No Launcher App needed unless you want those personal features. No Root required. This is native:
You can just go to manage applications and hit menu and choose filter. scroll to TWLauncher and clear the default and when you press home button it will ask which home setting. choose the regular home and it will go to stock vanilla 2.1. And of course set the home you personally like as your default so it won't keep asking you which home setting do you want every time you hit the home button.
I just hope they keep this feature when it Froyo hits the device because some devices lose this feature when updated. Like the Hero did when 2.1 came to it. Doesn't make updates come quicker with this feature but it is nice to have. I do remember Samsung saying they would expect Froyo sometime this month for the Galaxy S. Let's hope that has some meaning to all versions.
Eh it doesn't work right in landscape on my phone. I switched back to Adwlauncher

It is only for 1.5 unfortunately, I liked it as well, and included it in most of my themes back then.
On the topic of this thread.....I am using ADW installed to /system/app/ and it is blazing fast as well. Suffice to say just about everything is fast on these phones.
Just curious here but you think it will work on the Vibrant and Captivate as well?
EDIT: Works on my Vibrant but fails to load widgets.
Nexus S with CaynogenMod 7 Nightly #16
i used Launcher Pro (Paid) on may HTC Desire (stock and custom roms) on my Nexus S the Launcher Pro seams a bit ... slow? buggy? sometimes it crashes ... now i use the ADW Launcher included in the CaynogenMod 7 but its feels the same ... its slow and somtimes it doesnt work ... then i have to wait a bit and its working again ...
i dont make any mods so it cant be the problem ...
does anyone has the same problem? is there a way to fix that?
Maybe has something to do with the nightlies. Ive used both launchers on my stock ns and have never had a fc or lag.

Launcher Pro and ADW Ex are kind of choppy. No, it's not just my phone, I've had 3 nexus S's and it's all the same. My N1 and Vibrant both had buttery smooth Launcher Pro animations, but not the Nexus S. I can get it close if I use a 1.4 or 1.5ghz overclock kernel... but I don't want to do that just for the launcher lol.
I'll try Go Launcher... but I'm still skeptical it can be as smooth.
I just noticed my first ever issue with lp: I sometimes scroll through my docks when I'm not paying attention but this time I noticed that while scrolling to the left at high speeds it would occasionally show a blank dock in between. So I did what I do whenever I find a bug: I repeated it over and over seeing how often I could reproduce it. Then all of a sudden my dock just flat out disappeared. I restarted lp and it came back. Sort of. It only showed one of my two docks (the one to the right). Only a full reboot brought back both. If this happens again it might be a reason to switch but typo what I don't know :/

Go Launcher EX is pretty damn fast and doesn't ask for all those permissions the original one had. Although, there are still some bugs on there for the Nexus S that I've experienced.
1. When pressing home on a different screen, the screens disappear. Home has to be pressed again for it to take me to the main home screen.
2. When rotating from portrait to landscape, sometimes the dock is misplaced.

2) never had that problem
1) yes, only happens in SNS, it doesn't do it on my other phones
work around is to NOT USE the setting for Home+Preview, set the Home button either or, just not both

Just saw that there was an update and it fixed the home button issue. Other than that, this launcher is great. Much faster when rotating from portrait to landscape and other stuff.

Stop spamming your damm theme.
I have LPP and ADW Ex but my launcher of choice is Zeam.
Try it, its free.
i installed the new 1.4 ROM and now i cant get launcer pro to stick... ill hit home and it will pop up asking what launcher to go to. ill click the box to set as default then select launcher pro... then i can hit home and it will take me to launcher pro, but then out of no where it will pop up again asking what launcher i want to go to?? so ill click the box and set launcher pro as default and it will work for a while then do it again?? anyone have a fix for this?
i should also say that i was having this issue on 1.3.2 right before i installed 1.4...
I have this same issue and I'm stock. Everytime I run Adw it doesn't stay.

Are you running free or pay version?
I'm not sure I am asking this correctly. but I am on tweakstock 2.0 with the BlackNBlue theme (by Stranula). I was using CoreDroid (by ztkryan) and liked it but there are few things about BlackNBlue that I like prefer. However, I love the vertical scrolling 3D looking app launcher in CoreDroid (pic). Is there a way to keep BlackNBlue but use the app launcher screen from CoreDroid? If so, how do I do that. (also, I am not sure launcher is the correct term but didn't know what to call it). Thanks.
EDIT: FYI, This question has been answered.
You simply install it and when you hit the home button, you'll get a choice of launchers. Pick the one you want (and set to default if you desire). However, if I'm not mistaken, CoreDroid uses EclipseLauncher2, which is only available in Eclipse or that theme. If you save the .apk off, you may be able to install it and use it, but I won't swear to that. You might want to try Go Launcher EX from the Play Store. You can customize it to look and act pretty much exactly like EclipseLauncher.
It was a bit of a surprise to me, but the CoreDroid launcher looked the same when I was on Eclipse 2.0 as it did when I tried the Coredroid for tweaked over the weekend. I just wasn't sure that the launcher had it's own .apk file. Does anybody know the name of the launcher in CoreDroid for Tweaked? or where I look to find it if I go back to CoreDroid temporarily.

This does work shrike. Just copy EclipseLauncher2.apk, put it on your SD card and install via RootExplorer. I used the one in ROM Toolbox Pro. It's a pretty dang good launcher if you ask me.

It's the EclipseLauncher2 from Eclipse 2.0 and from the CoreDroid theme in Tweaked 2.0.

I wasn't sure either. I just thought I'd try it out and it worked. I did however have an interesting expericence when I installed the CoreDroid theme over the blacknblue theme with EclipseLauncher2 running on the blacknblue theme. When my phone rebooted my status bar was gone and I had no homescreen because the EclipseLauncher kept on force closing relentlessly. I had to install Tweaked over the top and start over. I'm guessing that this was because the CoreDroid theme already uses EclipseLauncher2 and the old one that I had running on the blacknblue theme became corrupt when I installed CoreDroid. Y'all might not ever experience this, but just in case, this is a heads up!

Thanks to all. I installed using CWM. Seems to work fine. I didn't realize it would take over my Home screen as well so I back to the 3 screens when I prefer just one but its kind of neat having both of them as an option.
Hi,
Just upgraded my phone a week ago or so and am having some issues getting ADW Launcher to stay as the default replacement home launcher after rebooting.
Every time I reboot the phone it will ask which app to use for the Home button. I choose ADW and Always. It keeps that setting until the next reboot.
Any ideas??
Thanks,
Bob

Are you running any special mods or tweaks that might be wiping the Defaults settings?
Just curious have you tried Apex or Nova launcher? IMHO, they seem to be lighter and faster than ADW, but that's my preference!!

I'm running stock JB; read some articles about rooting, but haven't rooted yet. Had my Charge rooted with no problems.
I will try another launcher, but I think I also had GO Launcher installed and it did the same thing. Doesn't seem to be launcher related. It almost seems that Sammy wants their launcher to be the default, so it asks every time the phone reboots.
I bought ADW while it was on sale a while back. It worked better on my tablet than Apex and Nova. I am really only running it on my phone because I bought it and to be on the same launcher as my tablet.
Thanks,
Bob
UPDATE: just installed Apex and rebooted; no prompt for launcher app. Must be something with ADW. I'll have to shoot them an email.
Thanks for the help!
