[Q] Proxuser pls help me!(Any help is wellcome) - HTC Desire S

To proxuser about Runnymede S 3.1
I really want that Rom but I have some issues with it.......If I try to install it after a full wipe it won't boot, gets stuck in htc bootscreen;the only method that works for me is: -make a full wipe then flash the Rom -reboot recovery ,wipe data&cache and flash the Rom again After rebooting still I have some issues:Random force closes (super user has stopped working, android a core,Facebook chat.....) After force closing all of them I installed setcpu cuz I wanted to se if I can overclock to 2ghz-»but the max speed I can set is just 1.5ghz...Then I tried to reboot my phone to see if fc will persist..Voila:my phone gets stuck on htc bootscreen..(this problem persists every time I flash this Rom......) What I am doing wrong???I have 1ext4 partition 512 mb,256 swap, all partitions ext4,s off by revolutionary, latest radio.
Pls help me I really want this Rom....I was planning to donate when i first read the Rom's description....but now I need your help!PLS!I still want to donate!(Help me and you'll have an extra 30-50 euros in your pocket)

Quick question that I'm sure is one everyone's lips: Which ROM?! Proxuser has many!
Plus although there are kernels out there stable at 2GHz, I really wouldn't recommend running your phone at this setting. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long if you know what I mean!
Something else to check, how big is your system partition on your version of HBOOT? If you are doing a full wipe prior to installation and it's still hanging on HTC screen, look at the size of /system in your ROM and check there is enough room on your system partition. I had this problem once until I changed to eng hboot.
Also, I'm finding the latest version of Superuser to cause all kinds of FC hell. I've rolled it back to 3.0.2 and it's all settled down again.

About Runnymede S ROM v3.1....I wrote it in the first post.....

Fair enough!
What kernel are you trying? It may very well have been capped at 1.5GHz to stop fried phones! I once spent an entire day unknowingly running at 2.0GHz as the default max was 2.0GHz, and generally when testing a ROM setCPU is one of the last things I put on so I didn't notice it! I nearly had a heart attack! My first clue was getting 3500+ in quadrant!

If you want to contact proxuser then drop him a PM

I have been experimenting ALOT with various roms and thought i would share some of which i have tested out so far, the only one which gave me some issues was Sensation 2.0 , seems like when you reboot, sometimes you get no netwrok, then reboot, and icons are missing, so its a question.
Obviously this isnt really an OFFICAL rom for the Infuse, but id like to know if anyone else has had nice experience or recommendations for use with this dude's rom.

Hellraiser uses the same Rogers RIL that Infused v2 does, so probably not. (RIL is one of the things that gets swapped out.)
It's often hard to tell for sure because many frameworks won't show HSPA+ even if the RIL/modem are operating in that mode. Hell, even our original Froyo ROMs were broken in that way - they displayed UMTS when in HSPA+ mode. (UMTS is plain vanilla 3G.)
GingerReal - V7.1.4 JVQ
Been running GingerReal V7.1.4 JVQ with Infusion GB kernel and I must say it's snappy. I have not had a single problem with anything. And from what I read Quadrant scores don't mean much, but I got a 3500 OC at 1.6. without Stagefright. I did'nt know Stagefright was til I Googled it. But my phone is very fast and I am very happy. Thanks Linux

Which ROM did you test for JVP , i might give it a whirl, i finally finished going through all those roms, The Vibrant rom wasnt very exciting, and seemed to lack the extended power menu drop down which has Reboot, recovery download mode and such, thats a big thing for me.
Darky was my favorite so far,I might try Sensation. If anyone wants to test out a couple JVP roms and try adding in the APN settings, lets see what comes up and post which rom you tested.
Thanks everyone for their input on this, im getting more interested now and i will be trying to use the Infusion Kernel with some of these roms and see if i get a performance boost.
Im not sure if its just me, but whenever i reboot ANY of those roms which are installed with Linux's software , it seems sometimes the icons on the app drawer l ike disappearing, then when i reboot, apps reappear, but the Network to ATT gets cut off, then i reboot again, and sometimes its normal..........Any ideas?

BTW, the default behavior in Sensation is no extended power menu, but if you use the app "Theme Settings (included in the ROM) you can change this.
As to the other issues - that's a new one, I haven't seen it before.

I ran Hawkish 4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032599
I chose it because I saw that the ROM included the background effect from the SGSII, which while I have the SGSII & this feature seems to throw my photos to the way over saturated side - its more appealing for home screen settings and every day use since everything just looked almost wet or gooey. But the setting didn't work I imagine a kernel conflict, but I'm sure this could be built into one of our ROMS later and I wouldn't mind helping out with putting it together.
Overall I thought this ROM was a little laggy for the phone, I'm sure there are others out there that could run MUCH better or smoother.
I find it funny that we get a stock phone and find it boring so we flash a brand new phone to something completely different within an hour and when the next phone comes out we want their stock stuff so we can see how it is on OUR phone...HAHAHA -addicted

I think those are controls for Voodoo Color which:
1) Is extremely difficult to implement on our device (significantly different screen)
2) Is not necessary on our device - our screen fixes most if not all of the problems VC was intended to fix.

Yes sir, I believe you are exactly right. I normally don't like over saturation, but on a HUGE screen it looked great with some gooey gingerbread green stuff around it. My photography looked horrible especially HDR shots, worth it though. The colors on the SGSII and this phone are pretty different tho. But a lot to do with the same resolution on a smaller screen. The screen on the Infuse is a big (no pun) factor that held me to it rather than the SGSII

Okay heres me scenario, hope it helps understand.
1) started off with phone already rooted and such and previously had Infused V2.00 full., Downloaded a JVQ rom ( like Darky's ) , and then downloaded Linux Bozo's rom/mod ) Put both of the zips on the ROOT of the internal SD .
2) backup info and boot into Red recovery.( Shut off device, then hold Vol - and + while pressing power ), release power and continue holding both volume keys).
3) Perform the following
Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache partition, Wipe Dalvik Cache
Install zip from SD card and select the ROM you want to use
Do install from SD card again and this time select the Linux Bozo zip
4) Reboot and you will be in your rom after 10 minutes ( be patient, it takes time ). If you want better performance, install the Infuse GB Kernel. Get it here

5) Enjoy the rom

I just followed the exact instructions the OP posted up above. With 1 mishap, when I downloaded what I thought was the ROM....I only got the lock-screen (what happens when you read things way too fast & think you know what you did) which I already downloaded and flashed
I mounted the SD card while in recovery and pushed the file containing the ROM over to the phone - flashed it - flashed LinuzBozo's stuff - rebooted & things went well all I had to do was add APN's back.
I really like my current set up BUT I'll probably find something else, before I load the ROM I want I'll run this again with a JVP base and see how things go & defiantly let you guys know. Now I'm curious why it doesn't work for other people.

I think sometimes people either have a bad flash or don't properly wipe data. Same reason lots of people randomly had problems with Infused. (I haven't tried JVP myself though.)
Well, i just finished wrapping up my favorite roms, and i keep jumping between the Sensation rom, and Darky's Rom .
BUT!
I always data wipe, clear cache, factory reset
Idk if this helps, but i saw theres a new Linuz BETA 6 , perhaps this might help problems that a few have been going through.
In closing, i really hope more ROMS designed for the Infuse come fast , i got a feeling with this new mod there will be many to come

This is a very good point. The data wipe is vital for the Infuse no matter what. I have tried it with and without the wipe & all sorts of very strange things go wrong at random. Market apps wont download - Errors when using data - Youtube errors - issues with email. Each time I did it different ones would act up too, never the same.
Full Wipe so far has fixed it without failure
*Edit - Full for me same as prasadudwadia said above - data, cache, and factory reset.

Revolution HD flash on two phones. Both phones are now slooooowwww...

A while back I rooted and flashed Revolution HD 3.6.4 on my Sensation without any issues; noticed immediate improvements, and was really pleased with the performance and battery life. Only issue was the occasional boot loop which I remedied by flashing a Bricked kernel.
Fast forward to two nights ago…
My parents also have Sensations and were not very happy with them so I convinced them let me root them which I did.
I did to their phones exactly what I did to mine, including; s-off, perma root, CWM, nandroid backup, flash ARHD 3.6.4 w/ bricked kernel.
The weird part is both of them are now having identical issues with their phones; really slow, 4hr battery life and laggy.
However…
I was sure to wipe the battery stats by draining the battery to complete shutoff, recharging to 100% (basically overnight 8hr+ charge) and erase battery stats from within CWM
I did not do a Titanium backup because a)they really didn’t have much installed, app-wise and b)I thought a fresh install would be cleaner without trying to recover any settings
I made sure to run the Revolution HD Super wipe before flashing the Rom
Installed the HTC Bricked kernel
The only thing different about their phones than my phone is they never applied the official HTC OTA major update. I went into this thinking it would not matter since we’re installing a new rom anyway but perhaps I’m wrong???
Why would two freshly-rooted phones exhibit the same issues?
I’m planning on re-flashing their phones later this week with the newer ARHD 3.6.5 rom (which I just did to mine ) hoping this will clear up any issues they’re having but want to make sure I’m not doing something wrong first…
Let me ask a more direct question.
Can I flash the new Revolution HD 3.6.5 (including the bundled faux kernel) to a phone that has not had the HTC Sense OTA update? Or will issues arise?
I think the problem is radio wise. Install the recommended radio and see if it solve the problem

Hi,
The issue is most probably the kernel.
Try installing the latest.
You have two choices.
1.faux.(in my sig)
2.bricked.(HERE)
Seeing as you have two phones to play with, why not try one on each.

I flashed both their phones with the bricked kernel when I installed the rom originally.
If the problem isn't due to the older Sense version being installed what I plan on doing is flash both phones with ARHD 3.6.5 and leave the bundled kernel installed (have the 3.6.5 with new faux on my phone and so far so good).
I can try the radio flash also but I never had to flash the radio on my phone and all three phones are identical (bought them at the exact same time; family plan-thing).

Hi,
I have never updated via OTA,and I never will.(Do not trust what it will do to my phone)
There are known issues with the bundled kernels.
Both of the latest kernels have had good reviews.
Just saying.
The OTA could've updated your radio.

Check if you have recommended radio or not. If not, flash recommended radio. Then,
Try to download ARHD 3.6.5 (check MD5), download latest kenels of your choice.
- Super wipe
- Flash Room, and reboot (just set up phone, dont set google account and facebook yet).
- If you want do flash roomcleaner: reboot into recovery and flash roomcleaner.
- If not, just reboot in recovery, wipe cache and wipe davik cache, then flash kenel of your choice.
- Reboot, set up your google account, facebook account, email account, etc...
- If phone experiences a bit lag during turning page to page in homescreen. Just reboot again. After that you can do all battery calibration, flashing mods or themes.
It may be too careful but that just to make sure I dont mess up everything with flashing.
Hope this help!

Hi,
ROM cleaner is flashed immediately after flashing the ROM, without any reboot.
Thanks for all the advice. I just got a call from my mom today saying her phone dies real fast and every time she takes a photo the screen goes black resulting in a battery-pull.
I gotta fix their ****z pronto.
I hyped the whole rooting thing up pretty good after flashing my phone, so far their experiences are pretty bad.
@ stevendph, I'll do exactly as you outlined. Thanks for the step by step.
fwiw the radio is whatever was on the phone from the time of purchase. Ill flash it as well with the 'recommend' radio.
So the consensus is to go back to the Bricked kernel and overwrite the new "updated" Faux kernel bundled in the ROM???

Yep, it's can be flashed immediately or after 1st reboot, the result will be the same as roomcleaner's function is to delete system apps, files, skin and wallpaper (which are useless or you dont use). Those also can do it manually but yes painfull .
As i stated before, it's just i am doing carefully to watch if is there anything wrong with room flashing, then continue flash other things. What i did was flash, check, flash, check... until having what neccessary -->nandroid backup, flash, check, etc . Just me to be careful
@Okors: related to kenels, just make sure you notice this.
- Faux latest kenels 0.24r1 is really good and stable (if you have 0.24 beta 7, you dont need to update, as they are same).
- Bricked kenels: v1.5 final has the problem with camera, playback video (sometimes for some devices) as blackscreen, freezing. Version 1.4r1 is really good and stable (without Zram enable). Version 1.5 beta #490 with zram, working great for me anytime including camera, playback, etc... but there are reports from someone that they have lags (i dont)...
That's all what i know when testing and reading reports about these kenels, you have the right to choose what is suite for you.
I would just flash Pyramid 3D and 0.91 Bricked, check if GPS and camera work, then call it a day. If GPS doesn't work you could always try my fix or crypted's, boh are flashable.
Pyramid 3D has been the most stable and the fastest out of all the ROMs that I've tried without having to extensively customize for myself. Honestly though, I would just flash your parents stock again. Doesn't sound like they are power users.

To be honest, I'm mostly after the improved battery life for them. You're right, they're not power users; in fact the phones are way to "smart" for them. Their biggest complaint is battery life (as was mine before I rooted).
At this point I just want to get their phones back to a stable state. It's frustrating because I NEVER had any of these issues when I flashed my phone.
Even the kernels, radios, etc didn't make 'much' of a difference. I was blessed with a really, really stable flash right out of the gate
I even updated to the latest ARHD and bundled faux kernel and my phone is rock solid.
Both of my parents are coming over tonight for dinner. I'm planning on reflashing them to ARHD 3.6.5. using the steps outlined earlier. Hopefully all goes well or it's restore-to-stock time.

Hi,
May I suggest using the 3.6.x series with the 0.9.1 bricked kernel, found HERE
I put it on my son's Sensation, and he loves the stability and battery life.
He's not a power user.
He just wants a smartphone that works.
Just a thought.
You could also try the stock rom xe by eddyos. Everything works fine and battery last for 14 to 24 hrs in medium to light usage.

Absolutely no problems there.
ill try the stock kernel thanks to all
phone:htc senation
So I've tried the stock kernel I even tried flashing arhd 3 times as I read that sometimes on the third try everything works right but no luck so if I can't get it working properly I'm going to try another Rom but I was thinking could the problem be daemon controller...any digestions would be very appreciated

Recently flashed arhd 3.6.8 and I am having similar problems. More often than not, i will lose responsiveness with the touchscreen and have to pull battery. Also my phone randomly reboots and restarts. Can someone tell me how to fix this???

try flashing the kernel in my sig, this sounds like a kernel problem. theres a new ARHD 3.6.9 but the kernel in my sig is newer than the included kernel, hopefully this should fix it for u..
I sold a Sensation ebay with this same rom, and the buyer is reporting the exact same issuse you are having. I think there might be something going on here.
Up the minimum sleep clock speed to 384000 or 432000. the cpu is too idle to react properly and this should fix it. I had the same issues with Faux & Bricked kernels until I did this. No problems at all now.

Hi, i've been running the 3.6.x Roms for a while now and think they're great, but was getting interested in the sense 3.5 stuff. What in particular do you like about the 4.1.x roms? Just seeing if it's worth the full wipe effort .
Thanks

Lol yes, you are not the first to tell me that, and believe me lesson learned. Though I did mention that it was rooted and that it would be running this Rom. But yes now I am troubleshooting the phone with this person and I may have to give them a refund because they opened a case with eBay.

Daemon Controller comes with Revolution HD roms.
Run the app and you can see the options for setting the clock speed of your CPU while active and idle.
If you do flash a new Kernel you should generally be OK without a wipe/factory reset, though make sure you do a NAND backup via clockworkmod first.
Flashing the Kernel works in exactly the same way as flashing a Rom, via clockworkmod (or whatever recovery tool you use - EXT4?) - Download the new kernel to your SD card and install from there.
If you get the latest version of the ROM it will have the latest Faux Kernel in anyway, so maybe it's worth trying that? - again you should have no need to wipe/factory reset unless your moving from 3.6.x to 4.1.x Roms (different base android versions 2.3.4 vs 2.3.5)
Like I say, I used to suffer from the same issues with the screen not responding to wakeup but since I upped the clock speed for idle (and recent updates do this by default now) It hasn't happened since

how do you up the speed for idle..silly question i know

[Q] Does rooting & custom rom help speed up the TF??

I got my tablet a week ago, it started off decent, but after a few days with several apps installed and nothing removed it started to slow down, crash apps constantly, and frozen screen till I hold power button to force power down. So I wanna know if it will help speed it up and not cause all these issues. Overall its a wonderful tablet just those issues are a major inconvenience for my school app University of Phoenix.
Also with this being new fresh out of the box. Would the hardware inside cause any issues with Rooting. I had that issue once before on the HTC Evo Shift back in August where I just got it on the new update that would brick if i tried to root.
Yes custom roms generally improve speed and no there is no brick update Vipermod works for the latest firmware without issue
ok thank you very much! Im just concerned about rooting this one. I like it as is except those frequent crashes and the horrible slow speed.
rooting, not so much, but custom ROMs really have a huge impact, and custom kernels allow overclocking, which REALLY speeds your device up. More than anything, simply replacing your kernel with one that can be overclocked will increase your speed..compared to the speed increase gained from this the custom ROM speed increase is fairly small.

ok well thank you. Which is the most stable OC kernal and best rom to go with it. I need something highly stable for school, but at the same time enough to at least open some games... i cant even play angry birds at the momment.... kinda pathetic. it opens be crashes after every lvl.

Thats not normal... Most stable in my opinion is revolution hd with blades kernel
The new o/c kernel made from roaches sources has been the best for me so far and when frozn is released it will be good with regular updates but revolver has always been pretty good to
Things are changing quickly at the moment so now is not the best time to find a rock solid custom set up or say a certain set up is best
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app
I think most OC kernels are in testing phase right now?
But they should be pretty much stable unless you are overclocking to maximum frequency.
You don't really need to OC for normal usage, including playing games like Angry Birds. If it's not working, it's for reasons other than the CPU's speed.
I would recommend CM9 for ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525148
It benchmarked really high compared to other ROMs and is really stable.

no its not. so i thought i would root it to see if i can FIX this issue. usually works that way some times. i do know that it worked fine when i got my tablet. i avoided the stupid update but it annoyed me enough so i did it. thats when this started happening.
did you factory reset before updating?
Angry birds has been crashing for me too, I think it's a problem with the app or Asus' ICS ROM, I just installed it clean so no factory reset needed. Also, agree with Danzano, not the best time to upgrade considering a new update just dropped and introduced tons of new issues and things to do..unfortunately Honeycomb was in a much later phase of 'stable', but ICS is just so sweet lol. I think it's stable ENOUGH for me..a reboot every now and then doesn't keep me from using it.

Rooting is just elevated privileges and won't necessarily speed or slow anything. A custom ROM, on the other hand, can speed things up with various tweaks and customizations. Most custom ROMs require root, for privileges.

You probably should have.
If you want to fix things right now, flash a good custom AOSP rom like CM9. Make sure to do all the needed data wipes in CWM before flashing.
Only thing you will be missing from stock Asus rom is a few apps and widgets made by Asus. What you will gain is MUCH MUCH more.
Ok well thanks for the info. But which rooting method should i use on the newest update???

1. You root with this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427125
2. Once you have root, you install CWM with this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180 It will install a fairly recent version of CWM that still works.
3. Optional: If you want to update your CWM to the latest version, you flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723
4. Use CWM to flash whatever ROM you want.

How to Overclock device?

i have unlocked my boot loader i have rooted and i have s-off!
the attached images give my complete firmware info:
i have noticed that my phone feels very stable but somewhat less on performance and battery life.
besides there are strange things i have observed (which happened even before rooting)
a) that my battery takes a lot of time to recharge!
b) at times it wont make it up to 100% will be stuck at 99%
c) and if i power off my device and start it up it just drastically reduces by 10% or so
also my phone doesn't heat up it much 34 C is the temp i see in those battery monitoring apps and the battery drop is stable when the phone is not used. And power saver doesn't make much difference!
so i wanted to flash a kernel..
ttherefore i wanted to ask which kernel will work with my present firmware?
and
how to flash a kernel?
any guide about kernels which will help me get through can also work!:good:
PS m a complete noob but trying to learn things so some detailed help regarding the procedure will be appreciated!

What is a "long time"? Can you be more specific? Mine usually charges for near empty to full in maybe 1.5 to 2 hours.
Rooting and S-off won't effect charge time or battery life. Going to Sense 5 might has some effect on battery life (I personally haven't seen a significant change), but would not have any effect on charge time, per se. But if there is fast battery drain, then the phone will take longer to charge, if you are charging with the phone on (as many of us do).
Are you on the 2.15 firmware? You might be having a signal issue affecting battery drain.

How many times did you charge the phone after updating to Sense 5? It takes at least one full discharge/charge cycle after updating the ROM, for the battery meter to be accurate.
Also, charging will automatically shutoff once the battery is charged (this is a mandatory safety feature). Then once the charge has dropped a bit, it will top off again. So I've often seen it drop to 99% while on the charger.

Probably just a metering error, and the new reading is the correct one. I've seen this happen to myself and others when rebooting the phone. Although, it shouldn't be common. Although might be, if you haven't calibrated the meter properly as I mentioned above.

I beleive Beastmode is your only choice for Sense 5 ROMs at the present time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165880
Just download to your phone, and flash in recovery. Wipe cache and Dalvik after flashing, then reboot.

Thanks a lot for your reply.:good:
it takes 2 hours to charge.. slightly more...
i have read people saying getting a 2 0r 3% battery drop in 5 hours or so.. for me its around 6% an hour..
i dont play games...i have removed unecessary apps some bloatware.. i dont use greenify module or set cpu etc.. besides my usage is normal.. and "auto sync" and blink feed is off.. its only whats app messenger but even thats not on auto sync
i use 3g for data plans... thats pretty much about my usage.
about the kernel you recommended is it compatible with my present scenario (ie firmware and 4.2.2 etc)
and it wont affect anything like the "sim(carrier unlock), bootloader, radio etc" [m sorry as i said m a newbie] ?
and which version of beastmode exactly u will recommend?

That sounds pretty normal. I assume the phone is on when you are charging, so if you are seeing higher battery drain on Sense 5, then this will of course affect charge time (1 step backward for every 2 steps forward, so to speak).
So if you are seeing slower charging on Sense 5 than before, it might not be charging time per se, but a battery drain issue.

2-3% per 5 hours seems extremely low. I can get 48 hours on a charge with low usage (phone mostly with the phone idle), on WiFi at home and LTE at work. So about 2% per hour. And I haven't heard reports of battery life much better than that, unless you turn the phone to airplane more or otherwise turn off the data network, which of course will greatly extend battery life but makes the phone much less useful.
And many people have battery life much worse than I've just stated (2% per hour while idle). It depends a lot on how you use your phone, and your location/reception. Drain of 6% per hour with the phone idle is not unheard of, probably even pretty common. When you say 6% per hour, is that with the phone idle and screen off? Is this much different than before you were on Sense 5?
One important question: How did you get on Sense 5? Was it by OTA, or did you flash a custom or stock rooted ROM from Development?
If you flashed a ROM, did you install the 2.15 firmware? This is not to be confused with the OS or ROM, but the 2.15 firmware contains the Sense 5 hboot, radio, as well as several other modules.
If you are not already on the 2.15 firmware, this may help. Of course, a different kernel may help also.

Of course it works on your present setup. I already said its the kernel to use for Sense 5, and I wouldn't be recommended it to you if it didn't work on your setup.
Some folks are saying to flash Beastmode version 2.0, reboot, than flash 3.5. But I assume that many folks do just fine flashing the latest 3.5 version.
Flashing a kernel will not touch the radio or bootloader. Also, SIM unlock survives just about anything.

Well thats the mystery part. I had purchased this phone from ebay from a local vendor. I live in India as HTC one XL is not available all over the world this phone was 'sim/carrier unlocked' to work with the gsm service providers in India( a known fact) Interestingly when i checked it already came with Sense 5 and 4.2.2 and guess what also with the "SOFF" and "Unlocked Bootloader" as well as Super Cid (11111111) the rom however was not rooted it dint have any custom recovery flashed everything else was stock. Every HTC app worked.
so with this background i obviously thought that it may have some ported rom of sense 5 or a custom rom like 'magio' not 'clean rom 7' since it had some htc bloatware (not carrier bloatware) BUT then it dint have any trace of the developer or a signature or anything that could help me to actually understand which rom I am running!
it has hboot version 2.15.0000 and radio i1.30a.32.45.18
now its not a assembled or a fake version i used many apps like Setc cpu ,An tutu,Trickster Mod(every htc sync manager recognizes it) and it gives the detailed version of hardware which is the one that htc one Xl has so its definitely genuine and legit besides it has an 'imei number.
So that's what i m confused about!! I believe its from Asia hong kong or some where probably! Buts its definitely geniune

I read the thread much of it.. I guess the 3.5 version is jus the 3.0 version with Aroma, surprisingly when i flash try to flash it with TWRP 2.6 it says "FAIL"
besides the developer also mentioned to rename two files in the bin folder with" _old" as an extension does it need to be done with the latest kernel version?
and m a bit scared to do so because many have reported that the file for WiFi fix is missing!
About the battery thanks a ton for the explanation M really happy its normal.. and many apps do say that the health is good so YAY!! =)
now the only reason for flashing a kernel will be to get the extra juice out of my Snapdragon S4!!

How long ago did you purchase the phone? It seems to me that the seller has just loaded a stock ROM on it before selling it. You're lucky though, you've ended up with a phone that's already unlocked and already s-off, win win.
I may be wrong but I think the renaming of those files was only applicable to an older version of the kernel. I've flashed 3.0 (3.5 is exactly the same kernel but with an updated/different aroma installer) without renaming them a few times and have no issues. I saw someone mention that after the kernel install failed, that fixing permissions in recovery/advanced and then flashing the kernel worked.

There's nothing wrong with being enthusiastic, and I always encourage people who actually want to learn how to modify their device. The ondemand governor should be fine, I've always used that or intellidemand (on the kernels that have it).
You can try flashing 2.0 before 3.5 or you can just try fixing permissions in recovery before just flashing 3.5, apparently either way works. I've never been a huge fan of benchmarks, but Zarboz asked me to do a couple while we were testing the Beastmode kernel, and apparently the result was half decent. I'll attach a screenshot in a minute.

was the benchmarking app quadrant?
well it does seem good though like personally m a bit skeptical about benchmarks as they give a different result every time BUT what matters to me is the feedback the kernel has which is really great. It has the version number (5.05.707.1) and baseband for the Singapore/Singtel Sense 5 OTA. So I'm going to guess that the seller actually RUU'ed to stock and than OTA'ed to the latest official OS, which is actually pretty impressive (went a bit beyond the call of duty, as a seller).
If this is true, all the 2.15 firmware modules should be installed, and you shouldn't need to mess with those.

Well, its not a sure thing (my assumption on how the phone go to Sense 5). But its the likely scenario.
I'd say all is legit. I wouldn't expect there to be any signal issues due to mismatched firmware modules, as it appears that hboot, radio, and other modules are updated to 2.15 versions meant for the Sense 5 stock ROM.
Although, a few folks have reported poor reception on the Sense 5 radio (baseband), and getting better reception by flashing an older radio. But I think most people are going to see better performance with the newest (Sense 5) radio. Unless you have a reason to believe that reception is an issue, I'd leave it alone.
Any ROM meant for the EVITA will work on your phone (they are not region dependent). The one hitch, if the APN for your carrier is not included on the custom ROM, you will have to enter the APN info manually. But this is a minor issue. And if you already have the phone running on the stock Sense 5 ROM, it looks like you've already figured this out (or it was done for you).
There is also presently an exception, in that some AOSP ROMs do not play well with hboot 2.15. But each AOSP ROM will likely be compatible as the individual developers update their ROMs.
A thread about overclocking that lead to so many things! =)

M happy its all good!
Ya Timmaaa had also mentioned that PAC man in particular is not compatible with 2.15... Access Points ya i can do that..
Reception has been good.... it was the same i had on my earlier cell!
i have to thanks the seller though.. Nice job done..
btw does the clean rom or magio for that matter have any at&t or telstra stuff!?
for clean rom its mentioned i guess anyways i can remove that, coz its actually of no use?
MagioRom has no carrier bloatware at all, it's been removed. I haven't run the new Cleanrom but I think Scott usually removes the bloatware too.

I'm honestly not sure because I haven't flashed Cleanrom, he should have a list of features in his thread though.

CleanROM 7 is actually based on the German T-Mobile stock ROM, but as scrocler says in the top post of the CleanROM thread "infused with AT&T settings!" Probably due to the fact that some 60% of One X/XL users here are on AT&T (based on a survey by Turge), and some things don't always play quite well on AT&T's network without AT&T build.prop, signal icons etc. Although, the stock German ROM is working fantastic for me on AT&T.
I haven't flashed the latest CleanROM either, so I'm not actually sure what AT&T aspects are present or not. You can read through the CleanROM thread, or post the question there. Or just flash it, and see for yourself.
I think scrosler is working on an AROMA version of CleanROM 7, in which case you may be able to customize what AT&T features are included or not.
when trying to install beast mode kernel i was stuck in bootloop so i went into twrp and by mistake wiped everything (i was such a fool my sddata along with my nandroid back up) got erased so i had no os..
when i rebooted it was again in bootloop
so i first flashed twrp
then i mounted usb storage and copied cyanogen mod {cm-10.0.0-evita} and flashed it!
{the version i downloaded was the only tsbale version}
it booted up and now my touch screen nor the capacitive buttons work please tell me what to do??
rilly messed up!
