Need help restoring or Fixing my issue. - T-Mobile LG G2x

So Right now I'm have cyanogenmod 7 on my G2x. For some reason I can't use my internal storage. I can install apps, but I try to download a apk from a email(from Amazon) I get a message that there is no SD card.
Is there a ROM that would work with the internal storage to download the apk or if not how can I restore to the default OS.
Thanks.
Edit: got it with this post.

[Q] Insufficient Storage Available issues need help.

I am looking for an app or way to clean up the SD card. When I try to install any new apps I get Installation Error - Insufficient Storage Available. I looked at the storage and it says I have the following
System: ROM 325mb (84mb free)
Internal: 1.59gb (1.22gb free)
DB Data: 109mb (75.2mb free)
SD card: 15.8 gb (7.50gb free)
It doesn't seem to me as if there is any storage capacity issues, what am I missing. Any ideas.
I use the paid version of SD maid. I don't know if that will fix your issue but it is a good app to clean up the internal as well as external SD card,.
I will try that.

I get the same error when trying to download any apps. I lost several like google earth, adobe reader ect and tried to reinstall them and get the error. I tried to download the suggested app and same error....any thoughts?
you may have a issue with the SD card. It possible reformating the sd card may help. Could back up your SD card on your PC format it and then try installing a app. If that fixes it, then you could just copy your files back to the SD. Just an idea
I formatted the SD card, then used Ti backup to move all apps to the SD card. Tried to install an app and got the same failed error. Any thoughts?
When you install a app does it install first to the phone then you move to sd or just install straight to sd? And if installing to phone first does error occur during install or during the move from phone to sd?
Tap-a-Talked
It seems to be installing apps to the phone, then I move to the SD card. Not all apps move though. I installed a couple smaller apps today and it worked fine but when attempting to install Google Earth I get the error again.
K. Let me see what it does on my phone with google earth.
K so it move fine for me. Do you have a spare sd card you could try and see what it does. That's the only thing I could see doing that. I guess its possible the phone may not be reading it right but it seems more of a sd issue.
Tap-a-Talked
No, I will have to pick one up. I tried ebay app and it gave me the same error, I don't know what's going on.
Honestly me either. It seems as if it truley was a sd issue it would do it no matter what app it was or how big it is. Since its being picky about which ones gives you errors it is 50/50 shot its a sd issue. Only thing I can say is try a different sd and if it still does it then it is something in the phone. I would just get a cheap one and see what it does.
Tap-a-Talked
Go to settings and manage applications. See if some of your missing applications or apps that will not load are listed but have a generic android icon and are named strange. I had about 15 apps that would not restore from Titanium Backup correctly. I finally found the issue under manage apps, deleted the affected apps, and restored them. This may not help you but its worth checking.

Will do, thanks.
I get this message with quite a few apps as well. The one that is really ticking me off is that I can't install Lookout. I have moved most apps to the SD card and there is plenty of room on both the SD card and the internal memory. I am running Heinz 57 ROM EE19.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
I still don't have a clue as to what caused it but after switching to EE19 and Heinz 57 my issues went away. Not a solution just worked for me.

And that seems to be what started it for me. I guess I will flash back to stock EE19 and start over.
I wiped data/factory reset. After that I flashed the stock EE19, CwM 3, Heinz 57 6/6 and rubbed one out. That order seemed to work for me, but now I feel kind of sleepy. The storage problem is fixed.

[Q] How do I safely clean the internal sd card?

Hi all,
How do I clean my internal sd card? I recently rerooted. I followed the steps where it is said to delete Dalvic cache 3 times etc etc before flashing the new rom.
I still have old apps/folders on my internal sd card before I rerooted. I backed up my stock rom before I rerooted.
I am now on this rom ([ROM][12-7]TPC v3 2.3.5 | Da_G OC Kernel | IMG Flash | ATT | Rogers |)...... I also backed this rom up and applications.
I have 9.1 GB with 2.2 GB free. I'm running a bit low in my opinion because I still do not have any music, movies, or pictures on my phone. I do however have about 100 apps, 10 of which are HD games. Is the 9.1 GB reasonable?
I do see some old apps on the sd card though. Is there a quick way to delete them all or do I need to go down 1 by 1 and check every crevice of my internal card?
I'm not that concerned about it, since I will eventually get a 32 gig external sd card, but I want my phone as clean and efficient as possible.
Once again,
thanks for everyone's help.

/data and /cache and /dalvik cache have nothing to do at all with the sdcard, internal or external.
Settings, mounts and storage (can't remember exact wording) unmount and format USB storage
That will wipe everything off the internal SD.

k so once i format the sd card storage, it will clean everything out and then I can just use rom toolbox and restore my latest backup with the apps I actually want on it?
thanks.
Once u format ur internal ur going to lose everything. Make sure to copy ur back up to ur external or a PC. That's if you have ur back up in internal. Do titanium back so you will have ur apps and system data.

This! Titanium is the way to go.
Once you have your backup safely on a PC, you can also do it by going in to Settings/Privacy/Factory Data Reset, and if you check Format USB Storage it will clear everything off your phone (not sure if you're looking to do that--that would be all your pictures/videos/music--but these files can be large, especially video files)
I backed up my apps and settings, I do not have an external sd card though. When I connected my phone to the computer over wifi, using that aires application (forgot name). I copied the backup folder and pasted it on my computer. It stopped around 20% of the way through because I guess the phone was using some files.
Is there a way to copy to pc from internal sd card? Or should I just go out and buy the external sd card? thanks
I used rom toolbox pro to backup. Some reason I get errors with the lite version that came with the Da_g rom.
So my main goal should be copying that Backup_data folder that was created from the app and reloading that up after I delete the stuff in the internal storage.

Kies is the name of the program (I haven't used it much personally).
I'm not familiar with Rom Toolbox, but assuming that it works the same as Titanium it should be placing your backup on your usb storage, which you can access just by plugging in to pc and opening the drive.
I just wiped my sd card and usb storage and restored everything with the Titanium and cwm folders that I placed on my mac (screen shot attached), and then brought back on to my phone when I was ready.
Yes, when I tried backing up the back up folder rom toolbox mde for me, my computer stopped copying the folder around 20% of the way and gave me an error message (The destination you have specified does not exist, It might be offline network location or an empty CD or DVD drive. Check the location and try again. .comgameloft.android.GAND.GLoftSD3H.apk, type: apk, size 4.13 mb, Date modified: 2/8/2012 11:20 pm.). It gave me the choice to try again, skip, or cancel (I just cancelled the entire thing).

Have you tried selecting the backup on your phone & then just copying it to a file on your p.c.? Just make a file on your desk top
If you use kies you can "see" the SD card on your phone from your p.c. Once you have an external card it comes in handy since you can see both

EDIT: Oh, you're saying Kies froze up trying to back it up. I'm saying don't use Kies, just copy the folder to your desktop.
Yea for some reason I can't see the root files on my phone. I googled this android commander program that lets you connect your phone to your pc enabling you to see all the hidden files. That samsung program is more like just syncing contacts type of thing. I was even able to copy my backs to my pc in like 3 mins. Deleting my internal sd card now.

[Q] back up goes to internal SD in 4.2.2

Wow - have managed to install my first custom ROM - Cyanogen Mod 10.1 - if the process has taught me one thing - it is how to restore my stock rom from my back up! Anyway after a few false starts I have managed to get it up and running with google apps installed. ROM manager really helped. I have a question though because ROM manager tells me that I can now only back up to a hidden secure folder on the internal SD
Is this google continuing to make the external card useless for anything other than videos etc. I Have just finished setting up Cyanogen Mod as I want it and wanted to back it up before maybe trying another ROM I had asssumed that I would be able to back up any Roms I installed and set up but at this rate I will run out of space on my internal SD card.
I see there is an option to download to your computer (which I have done) - If I copy the back ups to my external SD will I still be able to restore them from there - I am guessing I will have to use recovery to restore the back ups as Download Manager is not going to see them is it?
CWM doesn't seems to support external SD cards on our tab, which I found to be a shame, since I have the 8Gb version of the tab and a single backup can take a lot of space :/

It seems as if it is just ROM Manager - if you boot into recovery then it is still possible to backup to and restore from an external micro SD - where else would you want to put back ups (apart from your PC of course.

Can't download anything to phone after installing cyanogenmod unofficial 13 beta

I tried reflashing it. I tried formatting the external sd card. My original problem was not having downloaded the right google apps so I tried doing that but the browser then crashed. Then I tried sending google play.apk via email and logging into my email account retrieving that apk which didnt work either.
Have u granted your browser access to storage?
How? By now I installed an old back-up.
I could try again to install cm13 + opengapps 6.0.
Where do I need to go to do it?
Which browser do u use?
I am having a similar problem. I don't seem to be able to make any changes to my internal SD card. I cannot figure out how to restore this, and it is exceedingly annoying.

Whole SD card or only /system?

[Fixed]Need some help

Alright, I've tried everything I could, looked online(/in the forums) for solutions or help, but I just can't figure this out... After struggling a great deal installing the 5.2 update on my K1, I decided to simply flash the 5.2 recovery os image and start from there.
That went fine, so I went to install Magisk to root my tablet, but that didn't go as well. I ran into the same issue I was running into trying to update to 5.2 which is that my storage doesn't properly mount in TWRP (it works normally when using a file manager on the tablet itself and gets detected as it should by the storage manager in settings). I formatted the SD-card I'm using as partially Internal/adaptable storage and partially external, which is probably what causes the problem as TWRP shows the external SD card perfectly, but of the internal storage it only shows the contents of a folder named "InternalStorage' (presumable /sdcard/internal storage, however I can't actually see this to confirm) which is present on the root of the internal SD card. Any files that are in for example my Downloads folder on the internal storage aren't shown in TWRP. I thought installing a factory image would fix this issue, but it hasn't.
In either case, to get around this issue I sideloaded the Magisk zip file to root and it wen't as expected, didn't get any errors. But after booting my tablet, the Magisk Manager app wouldn't finish loading, it's stuck on the flash screen with the Magisk logo. Used the uninstaller and reinstalled through TWRP by placing the zip files on the external SD card and the app still won't load properly. I figure it has something to do with the way I have my SD card setup/partitioned, but I'm at my wits end as to how to fix this atm...
Any help will be appreciated! Preferably something that doesn't include re-partitioning the SD card
PS: The tablet was rooted with SuperSU before the factory reset, but I'm wanting to make the switch to Magisk because I want to install the Sony Framework to use Remote Play. If there is any other way to install the Sony Framework, using Xposed for example, I can maybe try rooting with SuperSU again.
EDIT: I fixed the issue, turned out the app was installed on the external sd card, moved it to internal storage and it worked!
