[Q] Howto un-SuperCID my Sensation? - HTC Sensation

Hi,
I SuperCIDed my phone a while back and was wondering how one goes about un-SuperCIDing it. I have been having a number of issues sending MMS and a few other things and after looking at just about everything else I believe that's my problem. I am using T-Mobile US so I dont even need it.
I'm currently running latest CM7, would un-rooting and going back to S-ON fix this or is it a separate issue?

The same way you did it before but instead of 11111111, you use the code for your carrier.

Ah, well that makes sense then. Would you know where I can find T-MobileUS's code? tried a quick google but didn't find anything.

This will help you:

HTC Desire HD Recovery Error

Hello!
I've been trying to flash my HTC Desire HD, but when I try to install a ROM using ROM Manager or the recovery manager I just get this picture:
XDA anti-spam is preventing me from posting image, go to: tinyurl.com/htcerror
Phone is perm rooted with VisioNary+
What to do?
EDIT: Oh, I realize this should have probably been posted in the DHD section, so please move it there if so
Thanks to the people in the IRC (or well, not really, but you know, morally support), I had it fixed
Same as me

Is there a RUU to do this?
i had this happen to my wife previously, we called AT&T and it was because her existing sim was "too old". could be your issue also.

The phone is T Mobile and my sim card is also T-Mobile, I was using it on the Nexus One and the HD-2 on Android.

I'd still recommend calling T-Mobile or even going into one of their stores nearby. They will help you troubleshoot and may just confirm that you need a new sim card. I had this issue and needed a new sim card when converting from my Nexus One to my MyTouch 4G for some reason so it is a possibility.

Thanks for that!
Well I went to the store put in the sim card and nothing happened, I wonder if maybe the previous owner messed the phone up trying to unlock it and if he did I don't know if it can be fixed.
Bummer, $350.00 right on jeopardy.
I turn it off and will give it 10mins hopefully it works now.
Fingers cross and drum droll going on!
Id call that dude back up and get my money back if a Tmobile store couldnt connect it either. Didnt you see it work in person before handing the guy money?
Matt
It's not working and says no data, I didn't try it because there was no sim card available then.
So I ask is there a possibility that by unlocking the phone it maybe damaged?
you didn't test the phone before paying the guy? you might of purchased a stolen phone try doing the super cid and installing a usa based rom like beast rom or stock tmo rom the other rom might have the apn messed up....install the latest tmo usa radio

I am doing a wipe and then reinstalling the ROM but version 2.4
I don't think it was stolen, the seller is a UCF student and was a Chinese guy (lol)
If the Full Wipe and ROM don't fix it I will try your solution, I appreciate everyone help.

Start fresh and install the latest T mobile US ruu, then install the 2.3.4 OTA update, that should get you going. Sounds like there's a setting, radio, and or RIL that is incorrect. I am assuming you checked the apn settings.

Right now I am at the Stryper concert at HOB, when I get home I will try the RUU.
Don't think it's a bad APN because I did a full wipe in recovery and reinstalled the coredroid latest ROM and still can't get service.
Also the tech support at T-Mo check if the phone was blacklisted and no it wasn't so that's good.
It should work on their network.
Which radio are you using? Menu>settings>about phone also is it a T-Mobile branded phone or EU version ?

Definitely try flashing the RUU for T Mous, I have read a number of posts in the development section about it. From what I've read some key software components may not be flashing properly or something to that affect so some recommend flashing the Official RUU and then flashing the custom ROM when a problem such as yours presents itself.
Enjoy the concert.
Report back how it goes.

I am running the latest TMOUS RUU (RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed)
And it recognizes the phone and it says it is on version 1.45.531.1 then I press the Update buttom to update the current ROM and then the RUU says it will update the phone to 1.29.531.2 and I click nextthe the RUU says it's checking then waiting for boot loader then the phone goes to a screes that is black and says in the center htc and stays there with no progress and the RUU then gives me an error # 171 USB Connection ERROR.
Am I missing something here? Maybe it's the USB driver for the Sensation that is wrong?
Thanks for all the support

it was working fine for about 48 hours, one of my friends said he knew how to change code on the phone so it would stop shutting off but apperantly it didn't work. And yes i factory reset it but im not the greatest with phones so i never tried to unlock the bootloader, nor root it
I don't know anything about phones either but the more info you give out the easier it will be for the experts to swoop in and help you.

okay how can i run an ruu on my phone?

[Q] Phone bricked! Can someone point me to the right direction?

So I was restoring to a RUU a while ago in an attempt to get S-Off. Well it didn't work out and it failed half-way during RUUing.
When I connect the computer, Windows detects it as "QHSUSB_DLOAD". Parallels detects it as a "Qualcomm Composite" device and I can tell Ubuntu and OS X is detecting it by running dmesg. I've tried two unbricking methods on Ubuntu, am I doing something wrong? I just wanna be able to be able to turn it on and have it working. Can someone help me?
Couple of things. First witch ruu did you run. Second what unbricking methods did you try. And third were you s off before the ruu or s on.

I ran
Code:
RUU_EVITA_UL_JB_45_S_Cingular_US_3.18.502.6_Radio_0.24p.32.09.06_10.130.32.34_release_signed_With_Partial.exe
I tried "HTC Unbricking Project" and a fix from here
I was S-ON before running the RUU
I tried the fixes in 64bit ubuntu 13.04 via parallels.
Could you please provide a link to the ruu

You've bricked your phone, it's very well documented within our forum that s-on + SuperCID + jb RUU = brick. Your only option now is to have a jtag repair done unfortunately. Out of interest, what made you think you needed to (or could) run that RUU in other to get s-off, or before having s-off?
PS. I see now that only after bricking your phone are you reading the PSA that states not to run that RUU while s-on. It's a bit late now, but this is case in point why research needs to be done before the fact.

There's no need for a link, it's the 3.18.at&t RUU that bricks phones if they're s-on + SuperCID.

I cannot remember because it's been quite a while before I attempted this, but I followed a Tutorial on xda of how to do s-off.
----edit
and I didn't believe I could obtain S-Off through just running the ruu, according to the post I read it had to be done. Also I remember resetting my CID (if that's even possible). I did something with it before doing this as the post said to do so.
I hate to say it, but there isn't a single tutorial within our forum that states you need to run that RUU in order to get s-off, I know because I've read every single thread in our forum and am experienced with this device. The only mention of this RUU in regards to s-off is to avoid it if you're s-on, because clearly it bricks s-on devices.

What do you mean you did "something" with it? Did you even check your CID after supposedly resetting it? Your "if that's even possible" statement doesn't really instill much confidence that you really knew what you were doing at the time.

Alright, could you point me in the right direct for jtag repair? Or to buy the tools to do it myself? I wanna learn this type of thing because I may get a job repairing phones soon. (which it's really just replacing screens but I'd like the knowledge anyway)

Well I'm pretty sure it was reset but since you said the only way to fix it was through jtag repair, I figured it wasn't possible and what I read wasn't true (since you seem to be an active member and know what you're talking about)
I wouldn't suggest you even attempt doing a jtag repair unless you're already well versed in the process. In the US it should only cost you about $50 through xda user zarboz.

I remember the CID said to be what it was supposed to be. I wouldn't have attempted the RUU if I wasn't for sure I was doing it exactly like the post said. I wish I could find the post, it's been a while since I've attempted this. The only reason I didn't really work on it after I bricked it was I got caught up in doing other things and I forgot about it.
Ok, well if your CID did indeed revert to the original CID there's no logical reason why the RUU would brick your phone. You could have just gotten very unlucky, it's very rare but an RUU can brick a device for seemingly no reason. Contact zarboz and enquire about him doing a jtag for you, he's a good guy. If you can find that post/thread though it'd be great, I'm very curious to see what it says.

Alright thanks! I'm actually debating on if I should go through with this. $50 is a great price but it also has a crack in the screen and I was intending on eventually selling it.
I'm not sure if after getting it repaired via jtag and replacing the screen that it'll even be worth my time in the long run ha
But I'll keep this guy in mind, let's say my Galaxy S4 gets in a similar situation (gosh I hope not, I'll take more precautions from here on out) but incase it does can he repair all phone brands that need jtag-repaired?
You'd have to ask him which models he supports, I'm not sure.
Sent from my Evita
I'd suggest contacting HTC as well just in case. I had a QHSUSB_DLOAD brick & I called them and they fixed it for me. I know another user here who had similar results with a bricked device. I called and told them it cut off and wouldn't cut back on. They completely reset the phone, but all I had to pay for was shipping.

I realized that what you are really asking is how to run the RUU on Macintosh. I think you would need to run Windows either in Boot Camp or via some sort of emulator.

That's how I ran most of my mods to the One S, via boot camp. For S-OFF, I used moonshine with an Ubuntu live USB. Worked fine!
