Corners in Xperia Laucher in HDPI Home.apk - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

i'm not that skilled of a modder, but i have managed to get the corners from the MDPI Home.apk from the new xperia 2011 devices, onto the X10, and other HDPI devices, such as the arc, and neo. I was quite surprised that it hadn't been done before.
The corners are a tad bit small, as i cant find how to edit them in the .xml files. If anyone can figure out how, can you PM me, and i'll update the thread. But, it still looks good anyway. I have used this for a couple of days, and so far, i havent had any issues. I used the new 2.3.4 Home.apk, so it has the Facebook app integration. It also uses the 4x4 app drawer, instead of the 4x3 in the mdpi devices.
zip file doesnt work, dont know how (too lazy) to fix, someone help? But you can move the Home.apk to system\app and change permissions, and reboot, but only if you have flashed the Facebook inside Xperia 2.0.
will try to fix things, like the corners, and stuff inside the corners - one it gets past 3 things inside the folder, it gets abit crampt. thankyou to all the devs that managed to port the 2.3.4 home screen to the x10!
i feel tired, all the time, so there probaly are worded mistakes in this, so im sorry!

awesome!!! I've been looking for this a long time ago, too bad I can't help you... but anyways, good luck with that!!!

This is awesome! I've been looking for this for.. well, a long time...
Thanked OP.
EDIT: Not working on Wolf's ROM... Oh well back to the old humdrum 2.3.4 cornerless launcher

Huh, I'm on wolf v6s with the 2.3.4 apps ported/ reposted by _smurf.
I've tried installing like a regular app and pushing to the /system/app folder with root explorer and fixing perms in xrecovery.
In either case the app never worked. What was your method?

I flashed it via xrecovery

Are you using v6 or v7 test of wolfs rom?
I tried flashing and it didn't work...

okay, im not sure whats happened.. when i first made it, it worked, but i just wiped my phone, and tried flashing, and it came up with an error. hmm. just copy the Home.apk to system\app and change permissions, and reboot, but make sure you've flashed FiX 2.0 first.

works perfectly with cobrato's miui, even with the facebook sharing thing works perfectly
thanks

Working like a charm thx for a gr8 work.

I just can't displace the corner in DonutHD 2.2.9. It is always in bottom left corner. How can it remove from there? I want to put this in both corner in top.
Thanks in Advance.

[request] Vanilla theme for Jerpelea's AOSP 2.1 ROM - White Theme - Advice Please!

Hey all,
while i love the latest ROM that jerpelea has released (007), i am actually still quite a fan of the white vanilla theme. I can perfectly understand J's reasons behind theming his release, however i personally love the white look.
im more after advice than someone to create a theme for me, if i replaced the framework-res.apk with the one from the b006 AOSP release would this work? Jerpelea has replaced a few icons and set the statusbar black, but other than that i am not sure. I thought all that was done via the framework-res file.
if i replace the file, but not any customised apk's (if any) will the phone boot and have a mixed theme or not boot at all?
any advise would be appreciated
Hi,
I'm agree .. build b007 is great, but personaly i don't like design of AOSP 2.1 last version
I already work on a new design for this ROM & i'll release that, soon
regards
SEMPITERNAL
cool cool, let me know if u want me to test anything.
any thoughts on what i said about replacing the framework file with the one from b006?
i might just backup and try it myself. gotta love the xrecovery menu!
Did the clock in the status bar get changed to white? from the sneak peak shots kat night I saw it was black on black, so if it's still black clock then you could swap the status bar and the icons from 006 and place them in the 007 framework and then push out to your phone. Of course back up the ron in recovery just in case of any mistakes and you only get the sony screen on reboot after making the changes.

yeah i bricked it with just changing the framework-res.apk file on its own.....restored with xrecovery so all good.
so you are saying that i should copy all files from within the framework folder from the b006 ROM? i can give that a crack soon.
last time i copied just the one file over (framework-res.apk) using root explorer.
btw, this is what it looks like in the latest rom. i like it, but i just like the white more (i think it is the novelty of having an almost stock rom on the x10 )
ok i have managed to rip the entire contents from the /system/framework folder on the b006 ROM now. can anyone tell me how many of these files i need to push back over, and in what order? i would imagine that i need to do the actual framework-res.apk file last as this one reboots the phone when i change it.
Oh he changed the time to white as well then kit should work just putting the items from the drawable-hdpi folder that'd in res on 006 over to the 007 although now that he changed the clock to white the click won't show up on the status bar. PM me both frameworks and I can see what I can do for ya. Might be able to use dx2000's sense theme to make it happen.

EDIT: Actually come to think of it, won't changing the services.jar file change J's fixes to radio right at startup in 007? I mean, it still worked in 006, but it takes a minute or two to actually kick in.

Nope.
Libril.so is the file assosciated with the radio upon boot.
Service.jar contains information about the Top-Bar, colour etc.

[APP] 1.6 keyboard ported to 2.1+ (ARMv6 needs investigating - ARMv7)

Hi folks,
This is the port of the sexy keyboard you used to use in 1.6
thanks to realunited123 for the efforts making it work on 2.1
thanks to pvyParts for telling that a lib is necessary for this but is missing from 2.2+
go ahead and press the thanks button for them
Thread in general section
DOWNLOAD and flash with ANY recovery as you wish
There you will find a version that supposed to work on ARMv6. Please test it if possible! Thanks!
Your actual libiwnn will be backed up to /system/lib/libiwnn.so.bak when you flash that zip
Looks like the ARMv6 lib is not functional. If you can provide me another one, that would be great!
The lib for ARMv6 is fine. However, the keyboard doesn't work, so logcats would be appreciated. Thank you!
MD5 of ARMv6 libiwinn.so:
Code:
e634eb6dbf632cb477869cedece2d002
See attached images for yourself
Put the apk in System/Apps and set permissions, reboot and it could be OK. Not sure, but should work!
Use rootexplorer to move the apk!
@PlayGunsta
doesn't work
even if I removed the original 2.1 keyboard
Yes I also tried on Froyo, but still... I don't have any idea :/
Does it require any additional libs to work? If that's the case I think it will be hard to port to other roms.
Sent from my X10
thats one thing I don't know, this is why I want someone else who knows smali to do this.
But afaik there are deeper implementations in 1.6 of SE's UXP, so maybe.
I think it's just compiled for an older version of android and so it can't work. I really doubt that it uses any weird libs to work and is just a normal apk. I would be very cheerfull if anyone could port it cause i love the old keyboard too
Sent from my X10i EWJet using XDA App
Howdy guys,
to me this seems like half a app... there is no classes.dex
hence no smali. i not done anything with 1.6 but seams strange to me, maybe there is another apk that goes with it ? or it uses part of android 1.6 as part of itself.
i'll keep looking tho maybe we get lucky.
Pvy.
could that missing part be an .odex file?

LOL I forgot that stock roms are odexed. So yes it is the .odex that is missing.. Can you please post that too ?
Also we will need the framework folder to deodex it. So we need the framework folder , the SemcIME.apk and SemcIME.odex..
that's what I afraid of :/
the motherboard of my PC is short-circuited and is in service, so I can't flash back to 1.6 unless there is a xRec flashable one.
Maybe use xrecov and fix perms
?

I think stock lockscreens are more precise even though apps offer more options.

Here are files for lockscreen.
Just image files.
1. Copy your framework-res.apk
2. Add .zip to name of framework-res.apk - framework-res.apk.zip
3. Open zip file and overwrite image files to framework-res.apk.zip/res/drawable-hdpi
4. Close zip file and rename it framework-res.apk
5. Make a flashable zip file and flash it via recovery.
or copy and paste apk file at system/lost+found and then permission 644. Move it to system/framework.
6. Reboot.

Gingerbread theme based on Xperia S and ICS

I've been theming my Xperia Play a bit lately. I was using the Xperia S theme (which I got from jjkkyu), but I noticed that, although I dislike ICS's abstract theme, some of it (the not so abstract bits) look better than Xperia S's theme. Namely the context menus/popups and the toast. So I began incorporating that into the theme. I've also made the folders of Xperia Home and the the menus (those that pop up upon pressing the menu key) look like that.
I never liked how Xperia S's dock looked, so I made a simpler (and IMO better) looking one myself. The launcher is also modified to not display theme choosing options, because Sony themes are pretty useless, especially on a not-Xperia-S phone, because they only seem to change the background. And it only has 3 screens/panes/whatevers. That's easy to change, though.
The menu icons of some Xperia S apps were designed for a white background, but I prefer a black background, so I fixed that everywhere I could notice it.
I've also made the battery icon display the battery percentage inside of it. The clockopia font is surprisingly easy to read, even in very low resolution.
I was also dissatisfied with the spinner, so I made another one and I think it's marvelous, even if I say so myself. It's two spinning gears for the big spinners and one gear for the little ones.
In case any of you are still using Gingerbread, I present to you Gingerbread Theme Based on Xperia S and ICS (it's a working title).
You don't actually have to read any of the above, it doesn't list all of the changes, anyway. It's just that the original post of some work would look very weird if it didn't say anything. I suggest you just look at the screenshots, which can be found in their entirety in a zip attachment.
Installation:
0. Before you do step 1, it would be wise to make sure a file manager is in your recently run apps
1. Uninstall Home.apk (sometimes this needs to be done, sometimes not)
2. Put the contents of framework.zip into /system
3. Set the permission of all the apks to 644 (rw-r--r--)
4. Move them into /system/framework
5. Put the contents of app.zip into /system
6. Set the permission of all the apks to 644 (rw-r--r--)
7. Move them into /system/app (move SystemUI.apk last)
8. Reboot
Note: The zips aren't flashable. They're just zips.
UPDATE: A flashable zip is now available here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ns4ka5244xb4bfo

This theme is mostly just a modified Xperia S theme, so to get a full Xperia S theme, you should install jjkkyu's theme before installing this.
Do you have any idea if this will work with CDMA devices?
looks great :good:...thanks

Frankly, I don't know. It's not very dangerous to try, though. The worst that can happen is probably a boot loop, which can be easily fixed by using flashtool, if you've got a locked bootloader. You only need to flash loader and system and you don't even lose any configuration, all that will be different is that the system apps will be restored.
I suggest you find out what people say for other mods where you have to replace framework-res.apk (if anything should cause trouble, it would probably be this file).
It looks pretty nice. Good work!
What I usually do to restore if anything goes bad is open the zip and replace apks inside with my current apks and rename it restore!

Probably not, as if it changes the framework it will most likely bootloop. You've probably tried it by now and already may have found that out though.
