Enjoy Face recognition like ICS - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I know that you all guys are crazy about ICS. The most amazing feature about ICS is real time face recognition. Means instead of any lockscreen app use your face to unlock your device. Its just like future technology. God knows when we will get ICS and this amazing feature. But I found a free app on market "visidon applock" which works nearly perfectly for me for recognition.
feature:
-unlock any app using your face
-set alternative password also if in any case face recognition doesnt work (in dark enviornment)
-face training option
Belive me guys its working perfectly. I tried to unlock messaging app it instantly recognised my face. But when my friend tried to do the same then it smartly refused to open app because obviously it will recognise only my face...!! Try it guys and enjoyyyyy.....!!!

Wow this looks good! But it doesn't let you put it as lockscreen, does it?

thanks..i will try it now

ya u are rite. Even I also want that. But best part of it is that it can lock any app that u want.

it doesn't work perfectly, but looks nice

Well the idea is based on how the phone read's your face, since there is no hardcore algorithm put into this compared to the ICS, factors like lighting and pinpoint locations on whether it can detect your eyes and nose *Works somewhat like QR Reader* they play a big factor.

i think you should try this.just search "king kong lock" in android market

Lock Screen Options?

I'm running the "leaked" froyo on my Samsung Captivate and the default lock screen makes me a bit crazy (it's a panel that you can swipe to unlock but it seems to be a little testy - you have to swipe the right length and fast enough to unlock - not one hand friendly...).
Most of the android builds I tried before buying this phone had a different lock screen (that I liked better). Searching around the market and the forums, I've only found a couple options and nothing like what I'm looking for.
Anyone have advice on how I can replace my lock screen and where I should look for a replacement?
Thanks!

What's "phone calls?" ;-)

So, maybe I didn't look around very well... I went out to look at WidgetLocker which looks pretty nice. I also found Simply Lockscreen by FireZenk which is pretty nice. Some of the options don't seem to work and you can use the home button to unlock the screen - not sure if that's a feature or a bug and I'm not sure if I think that's a good thing or not but it definately helps with the one hand operation .
I need help too
After trying using the WidgetLocker / Simply LockScreen .. it wouldnt help .. the Samsungs LockScreen remains there ... which makes it now 2 lockscreens at the same time :S
what to do?
Mine worked fine. Maybe there was an option to turn off the lock screen that I hit? I'm on a captivate with froyo.

There are 4 options ... No , Pattern , Code , and regular ... but when i try use the "No" Option it doesnt change a thing .. keeps showing it!

a combination lock for the lock screen ....

i was wondering if there was anyone out there that knows of or has made a MOD for the lockscreen that is a combination lock (old school style) like this
ok maybe not ?
i dont know if there is even a path someone can point me in would be grreat .... maybe tweaking the rotary lock
Dude that would be amazing.

+2, have to spin it to the right, and it stops, then back to the left to open`...
crazy ideas~
Or how bout you put for numbers on a rotary lockscreen so then it can be a combination lock with a passcode and you have to slide it back and forth to put the code in

i´m realy interested in a lockscreen with combination lock like old safes.
some news?
glad to see support now if the dev with the know how could show there skill ...
I don't develop at the moment, but if you were to design it like an encoder, and have each hash mark be a marker, and use and logic when it gets the 3 locations, it'd open. You'd have to have a clear button incase you messed up though.
This epic reply brought to you by none other than my roxx'd out Evo.

hmm..it works alright, but not great. Anyone know how this effects battery life with the proximity sensor on constantly?
Is the state of the proximity sensor set to always "on" ? meaning draining the battery?

Just to let u now I didn't create this app I found a few years ago and some one in rcmix wanted a way to unlock device with out using power button so I showed him this and thought would share so i can't take any credit or help with any solutions I can only show how to set up prop
U can change how long the sensor is on in options
I currently use widgetlocker. With it you can set the volume buttons to wake the phone, and then hit the back key to unlock. Bypassing the sense lock screen until you have to enter your pin. Its a whole lock screen replacement. its highly customizable, and you can add widgets, shortcuts, and custom sliders to your lock screen. It may not be your cup of tea if you adore the sense 3.0 lock for its eye candy. But if you prefer functionality along with your eye candy then widgetlocker is the way to go. Its only $2 in the market.
I agrea but I do like the sense 3.o lock shame widget locker done a sense 3.0 lock screen ow well

It seemed like a good idea until I put the phone in my pocket. If this could be done with the softbuttons instead it wouldn't accidentally unlock when you put it in your pocket.
This app is just so good....
thanks for sharing , will see during the day about battery drain... but i'm confident.
My sensor is staring to glow a feint red, only see able in the dark, is this normal? Started after using this app

Iphone Lock Screen

Hey I was wondering whats the best way to replicate the iphone lock screen? Is it cm7 theme chooser?
You could try widgetlocker. It has the iPhone lock screen.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
There is an app somewhere that replicates the iphone lock screen. Used to use it on my old phone. So don't have the apk. Search a bit and you'll find it
I have, I am currently using widget locker, I've seen another app but apparently it won't scale. Correctly on the sensation, i didn't try it but saw. A. Comment from an. Evo. I'm guessing there's no. Cm7 themes?

What's wrong with you banana? I got an android device. For the a ability to customize it. I'm allowed to do what i want with it. If you're immature enough to not have the ability to resist pointless posts that have nothing to do. With the thread, you should be banned.
And I don't really like miui. The interface isn't functional to me. I like cm7. Just want a iphone lock screen. I'll try magic locker.

What about "Lock 2.0"? Haven't used it in forever (coincidentally, it was the first app I ever bought for Android - lol), but it was specifically made to have the iPhone style locking, as well as give it some personal flare.
Yea that's the one he's using. The screen is compressed and the slider bar is really long and skinny. I've tried it without any luck. I now use "no lock" and just hit any button and am on my main screen, I never really saw the use of pressing a button just to do another task..

I do this, except I use a passcode. I just wish android/cm7 will release a lockscreen I like. Rotary did it for me for a while, but it become almost too complicated for me. I didn't like that if I used it to change the sound, i have to wait for the thing to finish rotating. I just want something I slide and it unlocks, but the default sliding tabs in my opinion are ugly. I liked sense's lockscreen, but the cm7 replication doesn't do it for me. looks too... circular
Widget Locker is what you're looking for

Favorite HOX features.

This is a thread to list some cool things you like about the phone. Maybe point out a few things that other people didn't know yet.
For me I would have to say that the keyboard is awesome. Also the fact that it already has a printer option built in. Voice recognition on this phone is awesome. And of course face recognition is great too.

I've been a Swype user since the Nexus One, but I have to say that the Trace feature on the HTC keyboard is impressive. It's noticeably quicker to render words after swyping/tracing. Only downside I've noticed is you can't place the cursor on previous words and choose alternate suggestions. Unless I'm missing an option for this.
Ha. And I though it was an improved swype this whole time
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Interesting comment about the keyboard. I'll be receiving my HOX today but most reviews say the HTC keyboard is ****. Seeing the entire row of arrows on the bottom leads me to agree (but then again, I haven't used it yet). How does it compare to the stock ICS keyboard? I don't like Swype so I'm sure I won't ever use that feature.

About that. I tried using the face detect to lock my screen and at first i thought to myself, man does this work well.
Then for fun I had my dad look at the camera and guess what, the phone unlocked itself for him too. Now I know we look somewhat alike, but not that close.
Long story short, I wouldn't trust that feature..

My favorite feature is definitely the screen! I can't keep my eyes off of it. I do not like the HTC Sense keyboard and for those of you that also do not like it you can go to the Play Store and download the stock ICS keyboard and it works great on the One X. It is much more similar to the iPhone keyboard that I am used to and is spaced further apart than stock sense keyboard. Also, you get more screen room for viewing while texting or writing messages if you use the stock ICS keyboard.

It works for pictures of you as well... It can't distinguish depth.
Well they're working on a modified face unlock that requires you to blink so picture would be useless.

The apps button on the lower right is the coolest so far for me. Swipe up to close apps and you can open any recent apps...
It takes the only good feature of the Blackburry playbook and adds it to Android. Sorry if this is old for HTC... first one for me.

I personally hate this feature. A dedicated button? I liked long press home. Now I don't have a quick way to search plus I haven't found a way to assign a long press action to any of them.

Once we have root it should be long press home button for recent apps, multitask button as menu button, and long press multitask for search. I miss voice search lol it was easier on an inspire

From what I can tell, by swiping the recent application does not close the application. I have opened several apps and then hit the home button then the recent applications button and swiped them... then opened up the apps again and they are right back where I left them. I think it only deletes the recent app bookmark and not closes the app itself.
