Is the system ROM supposed to be almost filled to capacity like that??
I'm rooted, stock running ADW Launcher Pro, flashed CWM community kernel, (voodoo lagfix), all AT&T Bloatware frozen, and phone is running good, Quadrant (for what its worth) is averaging the normal 1700, but battery life is not so good.... Can get all day use if i'm at work, but if i'm playing with it constantly battery life no more than 4 hrs or so....If thats avg then thats ok, but i think i was getting a lot better BEFORE i "voodoo'ed" : )
Don't want to flash any ROM if i can help it - so many different builds/versions/tar/pit/ i'd rather just leave it the way it is UNLESS anyone can point me towards a STOCK ROM that requires little or no "thinking"...lol
I have 3x extra batteries so i guess its not a HUGE deal, but i like to conserve wasted energy when i can... Also does Juice Defender really HELP? All those settings completely befuddle me, i prolly wind up using MORE cuz i'm like "nooooo, i need that, and that and that and that, don't limit that, omg i can't live without THAT!!!".... lol
thanx y'all,
Ms D
I have a little more left than you. Dont know if its normal though.
I'm not a developer but I try to play one on XDA. Seriously I'm not a developer. DlevROM Yo!
I have a little more than BigFau but not much, "27.5". Besides, this is just the space that the Rom is occupying it doesnt affect the internal sd or external sd from my understanding.
It's normal.....especially if you are mostly stock which you are.....and while you may have bloatware frozen, it is still installed.......ans yes voodoo being enabled takes IP a little more .....that is merely the storage capacity for ROMs or your phone operating system....
A stripped down aosp ROM like mine as you can see will have more space left ....

Not sure, but i do remember Cyanogen proving Quadrant gives bugged results if you mess with partitions.

Yeah, i remember that as well. Probably a similar case here rather than a real boost.
may not be completely relevant, but I've eventually got a successful run of it on the G1

scores don't really matter. And it doesn't seem any bit faster, but then again I can't really tell since I haven't gotten it stable enough to test normal apps. The UI feels more smoother-ish, not quicker just less jumpy. *note i said "-ish", because there are no apps installed so obviously it's not gonna lag.
so far for me I have only gotten it to work on the first boot, and for some reason only when I don't flash gapps (and fyi, I'm using CM 6.1).

Still, that's amazing.
Here's a link to what I posted in the N1 forums containing the update.zip with some fixes.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9937499&postcount=105
This is not my work, its just some fixes on others works.
Have you tried any heavy duty real world applications? Like Angry Birds or Gallery? Kwaak3 would be another application that relies heavily on loading. Maybe a web browser.
Those are the only apps that I can think of that would benefit from faster loading.

google translate should cover most of it
Thanks, that's looks really useful. Just wish I could download it.
I am considering buying this phone, upgrading from the original mytouch 3g that I have rooted and loaded many a custom rom. I am not an app hog, and I tend to keep my system clean with apps I do not use. However I have heard troubling news from some people on here that the internal memory that is supposed to be at 512 mb, is actually much smaller. A poster said they called TMO tech support who supposedly told them that a fix is in the work and that this is a software issue. Please post your internal memory stats, if you can. I would like to know if this is an issue with all galaxy s 4g's or just some.
P.S. while 512 is not that great it is roughly twice as large as my current phone and I have never come close to using up all of the mytouch memory...so the 512 MB is fine for my uses.
Vibrant
This is with a ton of apps installed

4G
I don't think I installed anything. If I did it was one or two small apps. I can double-check tomorrow.
Yea, I did a factory reset on mine and had about 200MB free afterwards. If its rooted and you don't mind repartitioning your sdcard, theres ways to help the problem
I like the phone, I get 10mbs with 4G, but the small internal memory has me seriously thinking bout returning it. Its like a step back to the Evo and Nexus One. Especially when compared to my MT4G and vibrant. I probably have 250 apps on my MT4G and still have around 300mbs left. I got bout 30 apps on my GS4G and I'm down to 50mb, and that's with moving the big ones to SD.

glitch?
Yeah...it does look like a glitch in the storage. Either the phone is full of bloatware, which I think is actually at a minimum, or there is a coding error that makes it so that phone does not recognize a part of that storage partition.
If you have not, I would suggest that you report it to t-mobile, if you have this issue so that they can raise a stink with samsung to fix it.
here's a quick fix

I have everything from the CM Bible page. I have wiped and reinstalled everything a number of times and Android System is always sitting right on top. The battery holds fine when the screen is off, but whenever it's on regardless of Wifi/mobile data ect. it plummets fast.
Any suggestions?
dude...you should try InsertCoin rom....its a masterpiece
best rom for battery life indeed !
i think this is pretty normal for cm7 because its still alpha...i have pretty similar "problem" and im quite happy with battery life on cm7,its at least twice as good than on sense roms so dont worry, use your phone and charge your battery when needed,if this is really a bad battery life for you than try to get anker
I just switched to trips ICS alpha and it's fine now. Android system doesn't even register in my battery usage. Just display and wifi. I might try to head back to CM and see if the problem returns. Thanks for the heads up. If CM still doesn't want to work out I'll check that out.

Yeah I suppose so. I just really don't get why my dialer would be using 9X more battery than my display is.
i think its because of the cm bugs in alpha release...im pretty happy with it but if you dont like just wait a bit more, ics should be coming soon
I think it depends on the rom you are using. I noticed with the lateset miui the android system is a little higher. I agree that it must be an aosp thing.

Please provide more info along with screenshots of your battery stats from the Settings menu. For example, (a)how many hours does your battery last, (b)how many hours of screen time do you get, (c)are you in a fringe area for 4G...etc. You could also install the app "Better Battery Stats" from the Play store to identify which app/service has gone rogue.
Better Battery Stats
Edit: I didn't see your screenshot when I first checked this post.

Same for me. It is happening on both Synergy and Beans ROM. I had been running d2hacker's CM10 but I needed something more stable as my daily driver. I used both if these ROMs when I first got my phone and didn't have this problem. I'll try taking my phone back down to stock via Odin and see if that does anything. If there is a solution out there I would really appreciate any assistance.

As the title says, what is Network operator Theme pack? Ive already googled it and there is nothing close to it.
I was looking through my phones app list with system apps showing and I saw an app with that name, Network operator Theme pack and I dont recall seeing it before. It goes without saying, but I didnt install that app. The package name is "com.android.networksettings.overlay.ct".
There is also an app called Permission controller Them pack and its package name is "com.google.android.overlay.modules.permissioncontroller".
While they may mean nothing at all and be completely harmless, the "overlay" part raised a little red flag for me. Ive also been having severe battery drainage issues, but I dont know if that is related or not. Severe as in losing 1% of the charge every 3-8 minutes when using the phone and about 4%-5% every 45-60 minutes when the screen is off.
I looked at the list of processes running in 3C All in One Toolbox (paid version) and the only thing that was a problem was the mediaextractor kernel process which I killed each time it was a problem as it was eating up in excess of %150+ of the phones cpu. I was also rooted up until a few weeks ago when I updated magisk (through magisk manager) & edxposed, then after the phone restarted I was no longer rooted and unable to re-root without wiping all my data (which, needless to say I did not do as I am not in the mood to start over from scratch right now.
So yeah, if anyone could tell me what the strange app package is and maybe help me figure out my battery drainage problem, Id greatly appreciate it.
My phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro running android 10.
Stay healthy everyone!
P.s. I attached a screenshot of the app info window from both of the strange apps mentioned above.
