Desire S how to S-OFF and Root ?!?

Hello!
I want to root my Desire S with official rom 2.3.5
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0002
Radio - 3822.10.08.04_M
Aug 22 2011
My question - any solution for rooting and S-OFF for my Desire? I tray everething (UnlockRoot, SuperOneClick...), but no results Please help...

i think you must be s-off with revolutionary before root

to use revolutionary, you'll have to downgrade your hboot.

But I think you can get around that by using the HTC Dev website to s-off. I've never used HTC dev before so maybe someone else can shed some light on that

Yes as I mentioned before with htcdev but I'm not sure on how it works. Maybe someone else can help with that

I used manuals from HTC DEV site to unlock bootloader. After successful unlocking I used this instructions

Now, I have rooted my Desire S!!! But... ALL THINGS from my phone is deleted
My HBOOT is still 2.00.0002
Any solution to change S-ON to S-OFF?

I don't think its necessary to have s-off but when you flash a rom, you'll have to flash the boot.img as well.
I'm not sure why you lost everything though

Htcdev can unlock your bootloader but it won't s off.
To s off you'd need to downgrade hboot n use revolutionary.
Read up on the forum your question has been answered many many times

sadsac is correct, htcdev can only unlock your bootloader, nothing more. But you will need for other steps to get mobile s-off and root.
In my case, I also had got HBOOT 2.00.0002 and revolutionary do not like it, so i had to downgrade:

Please would someone be able to advise as per the following:
Im currently running stock GB on o2 unlocked and used revolutionary tool to S-off only and h -boot 1.117.
Eveything else is stock...
Will i be able to OTA the new ICS when HTC release or do i have to do anything to the phone to get it.

You should do. I was able to receive an OTA update when I was s-off but that was after reinstalling an RUU which must have been an old version and the OTA updated to the latest version. That was a month or so ago though

If you are still on the stock gingerbread that came with your device then yes you will receive the ota update, unlocking and s-off don't make a difference.

If you have stock recovery then you should able to install its update on ur rooted stock Rom. You must have stock recovery to update.

Need Guidance

I am having HTC Sensation which was unrooted and S-ON....running on GB.when I updated my HTC ...it was updated to ICS version (OTA).
I want to go back to my original version,
I really want to do S-off and Root in my HTC Sensation.
My HTC has following CID and MID
CID - HTC_044
MID - PG5813000
In Boot, it shows following things,
-LOCKED-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.27.000
eMMC-boot
Jan 13 2012,17:33:34
Please Guide me to do S-OFF and Root my HTC Sensation....

To get S-Off from HBoot 1.27 you have to downgrade first to 1.17.
I never did it so I can't tell you how. I just know it's relatively easy and there's a guide for it around here somewhere if you search for it.

Ohh you did official ota then I think doing soff on 1.27.000 hboot is impossible

Once you've upgraded your hboot with son you cannot downgrade it

[Q] Help installing a new rom with compatible firmware

hi device is Htc sensation 4g T-mobile version. i bought it from a retailer in india. The device was already unlocked.
i've checked cid and mid, it read 11111111 and MID PG58******
so it is supercid right?
so i downloaded a firmware 3.32 Unlocked
MD5: 18610b5c1a123f8833b8f17f336ce71b, from xda
i hope this suits my device and i'm going to flash with a rom = smartdroid berserk 1.5

Since your S off , and rooted I believe you can update your firmware to ICS firmware which is 3.32 or Newest 3.33, download a good custom recovery like 4ext. Recovery and then you should be able to download the ICS rom of your choice. Just make sure the firmware is matching. Read installation of custom roms. Follow those instructions. Make sure you have what's needed. Such as recovery, firmware ect

if your cid matches then you won't have any problems
also you are S-OFF so i assume you won't have any problems

You know this is the sensation forum right? Runnymede is the sensation xl which has its own forum on xda, might be better asking there
