To test any battery capacity I'm using RC model charger like this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=6792
I can set cycle of charging and discharging any current I want to measure real battery capacity.
I can connect this charger to my PC and log any data I want.

is it good to charge the phone overnight everyday? I just bought a brand new batter. will it harm the battery?
I don't think so unless ur using a kernel with SBC. Then it may have the possibility of not being good for it

I'm sorry, but what is SBC? I use the Virthuous Sensation v1.0.2 with "2.6.35.13-UNITY-V3-g3400b8d" kernel. And i believe i have the CWR 4.0.1.5

Just going off personal experience, but I'd say it's ok. I charged my G1 and Nexus One nightly and never had any ill effects.
From what I know, Li-ion batteries are smart enough stop charging when they detect that they full.

I'm just curious, if you don't charge it overnight what do you do during the day? Charge it then? What's the difference?
Bottom line, keep on charging, you'll be fine.
Lithium ion batteries do not have a memory like ni-cad. Charge whenever possible to avoid depleting the battery any lower than necessary. Our batteries have a finite number of discharge/recharge cycles. If you drain to 50% and then charge fully, you've only burned 1/2 of a cycle. Your battery won't fail as soon if you avoid cycling too deep.

I don't think it would be smart. There are chances that your battery will pick up false stats.

I think I'd rather avoid depleting my discharge/recharge cycles by not cycling too deep and just wipe/regenerate the battery stats on occasion.

Hi I've noticed I mustn't of been charging my battery full I've been.calibrating the battery to 4015mv and now I have relised it has gone up to 4215mv after installing new Rom
what is the full charge MV ?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Mine is about 4210mV in Battery Monitor Widget. From what I red, it should be around around 4200mV or slightly more.
At 4015mV, I think you lost quite some juice...
Mine is going up to 4202mv.

Also 4215mv at full charge here. Highest i have seen is 4216mv when i just had it.

Are you charging via pc ??

Have you tried a different battery? Perhaps a new battery would solve the issue? This way you can see if it's the device or battery. If your still having troubles with a new battery it could be the device or the charger It's self. Hopefully its something as simple as needing a new battery but you must do some experimenting to find out. I'd start with a new battery and see if that corrects your issue. Best of luck.

Observe it first then do another charge cycle when your battery drains out . Then observe it again.
Try wipeing battery status in recovery

Yep try with battery stats wipe, another idea is, install "better battery stats"(search in xda) and check out what's doing what. Changing the charger maybe some freeky coincidence
Thanks everyone, just calibrated the battery , seems to be fine now i guess, will report after charging a few times.
