Dood you are an absolute legend for putting all these in one place. You have brought order from chaos and that makes you a master. I use a Vodafone 845 and would perhaps like to know what you consider the best cm7 rom for this phone? Your help would be greatly appreciated because like you I have been flashing like a ravenous wolf trying to find the best(not necessarily perfect) rom. Any advice or suggestions would be immensely appreciated.
i am curently using slykings build couse its fastest of all. i realy cant tell which one is best, differences are realy small. slyking has released update 7 and if usb mount realy works than it wil be my first choise
pedja what froyo is the most stable for daily use, i am tired of testing diferent rom, after a 4 months of eperimenting back to stock, btw how to overclock a stock rom (mts), it is rooted but superuser does not give a permision to setCPU
I dont know which froyo is most stable because im using cm7. i suggest u try Froyo Wifi enabled version by cas_xp.
As for overclocking, u need to have kernel that suppoerts oc

this is my first android phone, and i've tried to install APP2SD, but the phone goes into loop boot (vodafone logo repeated)
if i press volume up and power, it will not stop on the android screen, it will continue to vodafone logo.
when i connect to the phone tp PC and use the CMD from windows, and type ADP SHELL.... it will give either device offline or the device not found.
if i press the volume down and power, it will go to white screen written on it FTM, and also the device not found.
please any ideas????
I had the same problem with my Vodafone 945.
Try removing your sdcard and reboot.
If the phone reboots without a problem, then the problem is with the sdcard.
Changed the sdcard with and 8GB class 6 card and it works seamlessly since then!

NOTE: THIS WILL VOID UR WARRANTY and you MIGHT brick ur phone (really unlikely though(ull brick it if u pull it out while writing the recovery)), but from what ur telling me, its already bricked kinda
There are a few that are android 2.2(froyo) and the run quite well, but i stick with the 2.1 (eclair) roms cause they are really stable.
Instructions to install (that i think are the most idiot proof) is on the second post of freddyemmer's rom.
PS: U dnt have to have A2SD (like me), unless ur gonna go crazy with apps frm the market.

I've not tried any of these actions myself as I haven't yet experienced this issue, I'd recommend that great care should be taken before following any of the advice given, I suggest that you at least read and attempt to understand first, if you don't understand then create a new post detailing your own issue and experiences so that others can assist you and point you in the right direction.
The errors below don't necessarily mean that you've a fried eMMC chip, so don't panic just yet. Many users have experienced the exact errors below and have gone on to simply resolve the issue and use their devices again normally.

well firstly its not only roms and kernels ...
lots more useful links to be added
and only 4 roms would not be the case...
in few months it would be flooded with roms. and new users find it very difficult to structure all the available roms..
so its everything in one place..
nearly all devices have a section like this..
i have the same section under galaxy 3, htc desire s and htc sensation

Totally agree with you.
The Problem is what I mentioned earlier, not active moderation.
I personally got most of the other stickies made into stickies through the sending a PM to the moderator about a month ago, although as we both know some are now no longer relevant.
I've recently (over a week ago) requested some sticky changes through a PM to the moderator although I've not as yet had any response.
EDIT: I've requested that most of the current stickies are actually replaced with just this one.

Nice idea. When I had my HTC Desire I used the sticky "All in one place" thread a lot to check for ROM updates. It was well maintained but also had simple formatting. No HUGE titles to scroll through. Please give a reduced formatting approach a go and use simple titles of the same size. All being a consistent and small font as this will give us an "at a glance" set of information. Surely you are also missing any link to information on AlpharevX, which will single-handedly be the reason that this forum becomes super-active.
A simple reply would show I've been heard. Many thanks.

Well this thread sucks already. It is only 9 days since it was born and it hasn't been updated once, doesn't contain much of the vital information for Desire S users and needs to be unstickied and shut down. Perhaps a new one will spring up in its place if it is allowed to die... heck I'll even do it myself if this one is taken down. I reckon the OP was just looking for the glory of a stickied thread and now has as much interest in it as I do in botany... not a lot.

If all you're after is stock kernel then look at LBC site for link see his rom thread and the kernel is available to download from there

extract zimage from boot.img
and also any modules.....
and put them in koush kernel updater, just drag and replace in any kernel.zip the corresponding files..
should work well

Tried to flash it using 4EXT recovery 2.1.0 RC3 and it says..
"Finding update package...

Installation Guide:
First you need download recovery:
1. AmonRA Recovery 1.6.2 - Link (for android 2.1)
2. V1.8.1.4 recovery - Link (For Android 2.2)
4. Recovery CMW Ascend - Link (For android 2.3+ )
5. Recovery 4.0.1.5 - Link (2.2-2.3+)
6. Recovery 5.0.2.3 - Link And instalation Link (for android 2.3+)
7. Recovery 5.0.2.6 - Link (For android 2.3+)
8. Recovery 5.0.2.7 - Link (For android 2.3+)
Notice: If you are using custom rom for the first time in thet phone. Then first install v1.8.1.4 recovery .
How to install it ? First turn off phone and press ( volume down + Red button + power on) then connect phone to usb cable and press .bat file in the recovery folder wait a little and thets all take off battery from phone when install is completed .
Custom ROM install
Download your custom ROM
Add the sd card in a card reader of copy with usb cable and copy the Custom ROM zip file to SD card (FAT32 partition).
Enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down (Volume up + Call button (Green) + Power on).
Go to “wipe” where you select:
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe Dalvik-cache
Confirm each step above via DPAD
- Volume Down to go to main menu (Or with DPAD) go on back
Choose “Flash zip from sdcard” and if everything is okay you can select the Custom ROM zip file. Confirm via DPAD twice to install (just wait 2 minutes to finish)
-> Choose Power off
Restart Phone and that’s it

yes and for volume plus ill recommend use power amp and equalizer

Ok changed but rom don't have normal overclock
With update 12 no overclock but ROM is fast and everything works.

after going from stock to celestial v2
i havent folowed the threads
i was and im satisfied
with the phone performance
because i forgot the how to update
1) in this phone rom and kernel are updated at the same time?
2) so if i download a rom lets say jollaroi 's copy rom in the sd
and update thats the procedure?

Froyo 2.2.2 don't have OC ... cxp_cobaltum_mod_v14 too but everything except button lights work like charm !
p.p. What a dilemma: fully functional Froyo 2.2.2 cxp_cobaltum_mod_v14 but without overclock againt Eclair 2.1 FZF-Eclair_v5.2_by_Cedric with overclock.

p.p. Which ROM do you prefer ? (FZF-Eclair_v5.2_by_Cedric, cxp_cobaltum_mod_v14, cobaltum_cmod_v0.4.9_1434190412, cm-7.2.0-RC1-u8120-signed-update27-joilaroi)
FZF has cool benchmark stats, but for me cxp_cobaltum_mod_v14 is faster even without clock, 2.3.7 I am irritated by not working FM Radio and camera battery drain ...

which file of beats audio did u use..after flashing those file(beats),volume getting smaller in headset..
