Hello, everyone.
First time poster here, so please bear with me.
I have a HTC Sensation, and recently i rooted and installed MIUI rom on it.
Everything is working great so far, the only thing im having problems is the TTS.
I want to install SVOX, or IVONA, because i hate how TTS Pico sounds, i downloaded and installed, and tried multiple times, but even tho i can change the engine in the options after its installed, it doesn't seem to work with anything, i mainly want it for navigation and speaktoit assistant, but yeah... they both talk with Pico, but remain quiet if i change the engine,
any suggestions? do i need to install something else to get it working with MIUI? because it worked for me with the default OS.
Thanx in advance!
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Oki i will from now on, and sorry, just new
On the other note, can someone help me with my problem?
PICO TTS Working on MIUI 7
Miui 7 here, but 5 and 6 comes the same way: PICO TTS installed but not working because not languages installed.
check my fix here
Hi. I hate google TTS for spanish lang, rather Pico TTS is more neutral and friendly for long hearing.
I found that Pico TTS wasn't working on Miui 5, 6 and 7. (it has the app installed but not the languages)
SOLUTION
1- Get the lang files of Pico TTS (see attached zip)
2- Copy these files to system / tts / lang_pico , folder (need Root Explorer or ES File Explorer with root permision)
3- Change permission attributes of folder to DRWXR-XR-R (folder TTS and folder LANG_PICO)
4- Enjoy Pico TTS
pd: please note that GE language has been removed in order to avoid attachment limit (but you can find all these files in any android with PICO TTS on it sysem/tts folder)
CHANGING PERMISSIONS
In order to change permisions you need ES Explorer, or Root Explorer or similar, with root access granted.
How To change permissions with EX EXPLORER
1- select folder
2- more -> propertes -> permisssions ->> change
3- OWNER: read, write and execute. GROUP read execute. OTHER read execute
4- close,
5- go to SETTINGS -> MORE -> INPUT METHODS .. -> OUTPUT -> PICO and will se langages instaled =)

Installed the keyboard and it works nicely. It force closes a few times, but that's a minor annoyance.
THANKS for the Keyboard port!!! Works great on Lucid JF 1.5.
Your BAT file worked perfect... no issues.
I LOVE the Blackberry Pearl like Compact QWERTY keyboard for sending texts... my fat fingers work better on those bigger keys. Less mistakes.

Any chance you can try to get the messenging app over? I'd try to push it, but I don't have a copy of the H-build one.
I'm referring to the H-build one with the dark bg and white text.
Not work on ADP1.5H
Can someone reupload it Rapidshare says its been downloaded to many times.
Can you upload that clicker.apk? I already have the HTC_IME running on JF1.5 but the calibration is the only thing missing

Hi everyone,
I've finally rooted my phone and installed Endymion's awesome rom. It's been working great so far, except that it doesn't display chinese characters (although it has chinese IME, in which the characters only show up as boxes)
Is there any way to install the font manually? Tried searching the forums with no luck.
Thanks in advance!
I have no experience with Chinese characters, but I'm guessing some app like Font Installer (sorry, can't post links yet) should allow you to find a font that includes them.

The best way is
1) Download any Chinese Unicode font
2) download Es file explore form market
3) put font to your sd card
4) open Es file explorer, goto setting and root options,
5) check mount system rw
6) rename font as DroidSansFallback.ttf, and copy
7) now go to system, fonts folder, and paste.
It will ask to replace, press yes. Reboot and enjoy
Hi All,
By default in Android version 2.x(Gingerbread) Indian fonts are not supported so as a workaround we will be using “opera mini” to view the same.
The procedure given below will enable you to view/type Indian fonts in your android mobile including sms/twitter and blah blah blah…
IMPORTANT:: This procedure requires your mobile to be rooted since it involves placing a tamil font file in system directory.
Guide to ROOT your android mobile can be found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/ ,if you are not successful in finding or not sure of the procedure feel free to get back to me.
1. Download Indian font from this link http://www.mediafire.com/?6isti7ew908mwiy and copy to your SD Card
2. Download ES File Explorer to your android mobile from the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
3. In ES file Explorer go to SettingsPath settings put a check mark in “Up to Root” move a little below you will find “root settings” In it enable “root Explorer”(you will get a popup asking for root permission just click OK in it) also enable “Mount File system” under “root settings”. <This is done to make sure that “/system/fonts/” is editable>
4. Delete “DroidSansFallback.ttf” present in /system/fonts/ and copy the new(the one you have downloaded) “DroidSansFallback.ttf” from your SD card to /system/fonts/
5. After copying long press over “DroidSansFallback.ttf” select “properties” permissions must be “rw- r-- r-- “ , If not change the same.
6. Now reboot the phone and you can enjoy Enjoy Indian fonts
For typing in Indian Fonts search your respective keyboards in Google/Google Play store, I have given the links for Tamil keyboard below.
Tamil Keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mak.tamil&hl=en
ThamiZha! -Tamil Visai https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tamil.visai&hl=en I personally prefer using Tamil visai since it is easy to type
Have tested this procedure successfully on HTC Desire S, HTC Widfire S, Samsung Galaxy Ace and Samsung Galaxy Fit.

for opera, it's another workaround. here are the steps:
1. Make sure you have internet connection on your phone/device
2. type "about:config" (without quotes) on the address bar.
3. scroll to the last option which mentions about bitmap images for complex font and choose "YES" option.
4. Close opera. restart opera. Enjoy
Root privileges give you the power to break you device use at your own risk.
Just wondered if any one else discovered this yet?
I upgraded to KitKat (thanks Polish_Pat) Knox 0x0 rooted and recovery
Was annoyed that we didn't get any of the KitKat goodies so have started to get it sorted they way I would like it. Love android!!
First up (and easy)
KitKat Google Now Launcher and its two dependent files
(Ok Google works for me as well as swiping left for Google Now ).
-------------------
Down load this zip
Once you have it to your phone use a file browser with ROOT privlages ( I use pro version of Root explorer) navigate to where ever you saved the file and un zip it. Root Explorer does this and will ask if you wish to navigate to the unzipped folder, do so now.
1) Install GoogleHome.apk (if you haven't already you will be prompted to allow the install of UNKNOWN sources)
2) Copy PrebuiltGmsCore.apk to SYSTEM/APP/ changed permission to rw-r-r-
3) Copy Velvet.apk to SYSTEM/APP/ changed permission to rw-r-r-
4) Reboot
again root explore will do all of this. With a long press on the file it will give you options to choose from. Select permissions and uncheck or check what ever you wish to set any permission. For this particular task you will want to UNCHECK group write and others write this will set you as rw-r-r
click OK.
Do this for both files listed above and then reboot.
-------------------
In my continued effort to get as close to AOSP KK I have also managed to replace Sammies Clock app with the AOSP Clock which is smoother (in my onpinion only).
If you want it
Down load this zip file
Extract as described earlier and install it as any other app. Then you can disable the stock app by doing a rename these two files (Root users only can achieve this stock will have two clock apps)
ClockPackage_OSup.apk to ClockPackage_OSup.apk.old
ClockPackage_OSup.odex to ClockPackage_OSup.odex
--------------------
Now I want to try getting the KitKat Dialer to work but I suspect that won't be so easy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647275
xposed GEL didnt do it for me for some reason, will test your method soon
Just installed the GoogleHome apk on a non rooted 4.4.2 Note 3 running stock firmware and everything works without any other modification. (Including Ok google).
If you're tired of having the stock "Sense" emojis that looks hideous on the HTC One A9, I made a guide for you.
if this worked for you please post what device you have so we can make this thread a sticky
YOU NEED ROOT
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKED OR BOOT LOOPED DEVICES, ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP AND BE SURE TO HAVE A CUSTOM RECOVERY FOR ANY POSSIBLE ERROR
*Note* This changes system emojis and stock HTC Keyboard to or any keyboard *Works best with Gboard*
made a how to video https://youtu.be/UyzyNXVBgrQ (This one uses a Samsung device, for example)
1) Download Emoji Switcher from the Google Play store and download the emoji you want to be on the system (applying the emojis wont work).
2) Download root explorer or any file manager with root. (I prefer Root Explorer because that's the one I have) Root Explorer: https://mega.nz/#!0dMzFTpK!cn6wlZlXx...YZpndJT8CxieFI
3) Go to data/data/com.stevenchoen.emojiswitcher/files/emojisets/ and here are the emojis you downloaded, now copy the one you whant.
4) now open the storage or system tab on top, on root explorer you should have two tabs one for system and one for storage, select the one that's not in the emoji folder you were. Now go to system/fonts/ now open the menu and select " sort order " and select "size" now scroll all the way down and paste the emojis you have copied.
5) Now on samsung we have "NotoColorEmoji.ttf and hTC_ColorEmoji.ttf " delete both of them.
6) Rename the emoji you pasted to " NotoColorEmoji.ttf "
7) Now go to the emojis tab and copy again the emoji you copied eralier and pasted in the fonts tab.
8) Now rename that emoji to " hTC_ColorEmoji.ttf.
9) Now set permissions to " rw-r-r " to both of them and reboot.
For other phones ( not HTC )
I really don't know; but, I guess it have to say something along the lines of ColorEmoji.ttf in the fonts folder and you can replace that .ttf file with the one you downloaded
Please feel free to post the fonts and device you have, so I, or others could help you.
Can you post your original NotoColorEmoji.ttf from HTC?
