I have just purchased the HTC Media Link for the Sensation as I want to stream pictures, videos etc... to my tv however I seem to be having a few problems setting it up.
When I power up for the first time I get to the main screen and at the bottom it says Wifi Network: HTC Media Link and IP Address: 192.168.100.1:8080 According to the manual this means that the Media Link adapter is broadcasting a hotspot to connect to.
My problem is however that when I search for the wireless network on my phone or laptop nothing is coming up. If I power down and reset then it sometimes pops up for about 10 seconds and then disappears again.
It's driving me nuts because I am sure that I am not doing anything wrong and beginning to think its a faulty unit. Has anyone else had an experience setting this up? Ive Googled but there arnt many results about this subject.
Many thanks.

HI,
My raph100 won't connect to even an unsecured open network! I've searched and searched and tried:
selecting 'best performance'
manual ip/gateway setting etc
new rom
using advanced config to disable wpa authentication
xdandroid
the 'configure wireless connection settings' finds my network, changes to 'connecting' and then after a while goes back to 'available'
i really don't know what else to do. i bought second had on ebay but fear i won't be able to get a refund.
i will look for some kind of hardware diagnostic tool to try and prove it's faulty.
i've seen that alot of people have this problem but solutions only work for some. lame.
hi again,
i plugged in a new access point to my router and set it up using another channel. touch pro connected no problem and i even used wep. however, for unrelated reasons i did a hard reset and now it won't connect again?!
this is driving me crazy any ideas?

Hi. Yesterday I got my new Z3, and since then, I've had nothing but WiFi trouble.
My basic home setup:
Linksys EA4500
1 Mediapc with Plex installed
1 Sonos speaker
1 Chromecast connected to my TV
3 pads (samsung, sony tablet z)
Several android phones
Until yesterday (and exept with my Tablet Z - more on that later) my network works as supposed. All units can talk to each other, and most important, my phones and tablet can ALWAYS find and use my Sonos, Chromcast and Plex server. I have a Nexus 5, SGS3, SGS4 and more, and all are connected. Always. Without hickups.
Not so with the Z3. Althoug it says I'm connected - and I can indeed reach outside websites like cnn.com etc.. more often than not the in-house resources are unavailable. Early on I remembered that my Tablet Z had a similar issue, but turning off the Stamina modus on that one always solved the issue. Again, not so with my new Z3. No matter how many functions I turn off - starting with Stamina mode - I'm unable to reach my Plex server, find the Sonos or Chromecast devices. Also, restarting the device or the router don't seem to help either. Even more frustrating, suddenly the phone will find the resources, only to have them drop out again two minutes later... even if the screen was on all the time (did not go into stand-by).
I've turned off all the functions that was part of the reason I bought the phone...
I've changed the router setup to have mixed modes and all other tips I've found on the forums...
I've tried setting a static IP-adress for the phone on the router, and although it lists the phone, still no luck...
(beside the fact that all other devices still connect and work as expected)
I'm extremely frustrated. This is a premium device with a premium pricetag, and I cannot trust it to even connect and use my own WiFi setup.
So in short - please advice.

maybe the no. of devices connected to your router is limited? try removing some devices from your server and try it..
Settings > WiFi > Menu > Advanced > Uncheck "WiFi Optimisation"
See if this makes a difference as it disables all power saving features related to the wifi chip.
Mine was useless. But swapped router and seems fine now.
Try a factory reset on the router, clears all data but leaves original passwords and stuff, if you've not messed with the router, then it's a simple fix.
If you have messed with the router then it might be a setting you tweaked. So a reset may help.
Either way, worth a shot
Hey guys,
So basically I drive a 2016 Volvo V70 (car model not so important tbh) and before I got my Galaxy N20U I used to have an iPhone 8+.
At the time when I connected it to my car's bluetooth system, things used to run quite perfectly when playing music. Using the car's buttons I could rewind and fast-forward songs by pressing and holding in apps like Spotify.
Now with the Galaxy N20U, answering calls works sorta well, and I can skip songs forwards and backwards by short-pressing the car buttons, BUT I can't "slide" or "seek" the tracks, as in fast-forward or backwards, like I used to be able to do with the iPhone. I did all sorts of basic troubleshooting like unpairing and repairing the phone, resetting, trying other music players; but the problem still persists.
I messed around with the bluetooth connection type in Developer Mode settings on the Galaxy, but tbh I don't really understand what the settings mean or which one should be right. I'm not really aware what bluetooth version my car has either, but I think it would be an older version since it's 2014-2016 technology.
How can I fix it or tune the settings of the Galaxy in order to solve this? Or are there any apps I could install which fixes this issue?
Another problem with the Galaxy's BT connection is with my Windows 10 laptop. It's a pretty new laptop (HP Spectre 15 x360 2019) running the latest version of Windows 10.
Basically I did what everyone would do and I linked my Samsung to Windows, so I could have a similar continuity experience like Mac/iPhones have, like having a stable and automatic connection, picking up calls and texts from your laptop, and most importantly that your phone shares hotspot automatically through Bluetooth tethering when you're outside of home.
I tried several things like linking and unlinking through Microsoft's "Link Your Phone", and even tried with Samsung's Dex. I tried with both functions on, or one of them being unlinked.
The problem still persists, that it's not an automated and constant connection between the laptop and the phone, and that especially when it comes to automatic bluetooth tethering; then I always have to do it manually through clicking through several menus on Windows and creating an Access Point connecting to Bluetooth like some sort of a LAN connection. Every single time. And even when this connection is established, I'd see a LAN icon on the status bar (instead of signal bars) and when I expand the menu, it doesn't even list the current connection it is on (like "Samsung bla bla bla: Connected"). Instead I just get nearby WiFi networks and that it's searching. I DO get internet though and it works fine for the most part, but once I leave the room and the phone gets out of the range, or I put the laptop to standby, then I have to repeat the process all over again.
Even when I opt to sharing internet from my phone to the laptop through normal WiFi hotspot, I notice that the connection drops frequently.
To summarize, when it comes to both the car and my laptop, my Galaxy N20U does connect to them and offers the basic functionalities of the BT connection, BUT it misses other basic functionalities and it tends to be a half-baked, unstable connection.
Please help me out with this! Running the latest versions of softwares on all the named devices here.
For now turn off Developer options.
Clear the system cache on the boot menu
Reset network connections.
Pretty harmless and it may fix it...
dont have that problem
Hey there,
if anyone could help me with some serious stuff, which is going on in my network after I found out that my ex installed anythin like Efi in common with SMC on my imac and my macbook, to have connection to my Network at home from anywhere he is,... however. I am not really fit in such deep IT grounds to understand these things which are happening at my home.
For example there's anytime a device called TVbluetooth in my bluetooth devices at my imac and no matter how often I delete it,..... few minutes later it appears again. I can remember that anytime in former I also so such a device called TVbluetooth at his home network. I don't know but my mobile doesn't list this if I scan my bluetooth sourroundings with it. It also appears if my television is switched off. The icon of this device in the List at my imac is a Loudspeaker icon, but for example my tablet, which has also this device in the bluetoooth settings, shows the icon of a mobile.
For a couple of days I was not able to deactivate my bluetooth anyway on my imac. then I did the shortcut to see the deeper settings of my bluetooth settings, where also debug is visible and as I deleted every bluetooth device with this menue, I had been able to deactivate bluetooth again.
but the ****ing TVbluetooth device appears again and again, no matter how often i delete it.
I ordered a new browser a few days ago as my old one is broken but I do not install the new one before I renew every device, which had been connected to my network before, to avoid having the same Problem again in the end. I never had been connected to my imac with my samsung galaxy mobile before, not even with my network because I already was afraid of these things and some more i don't want to tell you about, so how could it be that I opened the first time ever a hotspot with my mobile for my imac to have internet, and before I could see which password i have to insert, I was connected. Allthough there is shown a lock for WPS Protection as at any other locked Wlan Networks shown in the sourroundings.
???????????
Another day a friend of mine gave me his hotspot, where I connected with the password shown at his device, everythin normal, but as he left I had been connected with the internet about half an hour until i disconnected manually??? I called him to ask if he stayed for such a long time in his car in front of my door or something like that but he sayed no, I went straight away after I've left?????????
Does anyone know what happens??
P.S.: my ex knows a lot about PC, Mac, Linux, unix, parallels, virtual machines (this I also had suddendly at my imac 1 year ago)
thanks for your help
Regards

Posted this on r/HomeNetworking and r/androidapps but it's a very specific issue so just trying to increase my chances of finding someone that can help
So I know this is oddly specific but I'm at my wit's end trying to figure this out. We live out in the middle of nowhere so our phone data (full bars service from Verizon somehow) is our only source of internet, so I use a USB tether through PDAnet (for avoiding hotspot data cap) on a phone to a laptop that is then connected from its ethernet port to a router's WAN port, which then provides a "pure" WiFi connection to the rest of the house (PDAnet's native Direct WiFi hotspot setup is useless for any device that can't use the PDAnet app on its own end). I recently set this up (i.e. actually utilizing a router instead of Windows Hotspot) and it's worked great but we're STILL having this same issue that was happening back on the old Hotspot configuration.
So now that I have an actual interface to configure the connection (i.e. the router config page) I was hoping I could finally address this issue. Basically whenever I try to load a video on the Playstation Network store from my PS4/PS5 connected to said WiFi or when I use the Netflix app on my Chromecast + Google TV also on the WiFi network, something is pinging back to the initial PDAnet connection so that it gets "unchecked" on both the phone's app as well as the desktop app, thus killing my entire network until I manually turn both back on.
Going through Netflix in the laptop browser, using literally any app other than Netflix on the Chromecast + Google TV, and using PSN for any purpose besides loading videos in the store all work perfectly fine. I'm thinking is has to do with some sort of location check but I have no idea what else I can adjust in any of the device's settings or the router config page to fix this. Trying to turn location tracking on/off on both the phone and laptop has no effect, but I know Netflix can be weird about location (i.e. different content for different regions and people using VPNs to get around said location issue) and I know PSN does something similar (i.e. different content based on different regions again).
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what exactly is different about these two scenarios that causes PDAnet to "nope" out of the situation, and what else I can try to adjust to remedy the issue?
