I keep getting an error message when trying to access any program that needs super user permission.
"(process com.noshufou.android.su) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I have cleared application data, no luck. I have tried uninstalling the SU update, no luck. I have tried downloading the SU Fix from the market, it says all is good, but if I try to force fix anyway, I get the same SU error message and it will not let me go any further. I tried using Root Explorer to find the file listed above, but of course I need SU access to open Root Exporer.
I am now lost on what to do now. CRAAAAPPPPPPP!

I im attempting to install this bootanimation with sound. With the direct instructions from the op here
When i type "su" in terminal emulator permission is denied.
I am setting the system folder as read/write using root explorer.
I tried it with just root set as read/write
I tries it with both as read/write
Still no go -permission denied
Superuser does not have any apk listed as being denied root access. Superuser has never prompted me to allow or deny terminal emulator root access.
Inspire (obviously) running CM7.0.3
Am I doing something wrong? or missing something? or could this be a error with terminal emulator and/or the ROM?
Thanks for any insight or ideas.
you should be getting a pop-up from super user right after you type su in the term emulator and hit enter.
i have this problem too
I had a similar problem like this when I first started out.......I ended up downloading root checker...which not only checks for root...but makes sure you have a recent version of busybox installed....in my case I didn't. I downloaded and installed busy box and it fixed everything.
Not sure if this will help you, but thought I would try.
Thanks S.Reno9. I installed root checker and I did have busybox installed and still no dice. I dont know what the deal is.
I really hope we can get some more help on this.
Reading this post confirmed the issue came from using Root Tools. What I did was move the cache back to data and SU started working again.
I also have this problem. How did you "move cache back to data." (sorry for the noob question)
same here
after type "su" dont get any pop window only permission denied
what to do now?
A couple things to try -
1 - Clear data from Terminal and Superuser and try again
2 - Uninstall and Reinstall Terminal and Superuser
I have had success with both of these suggestions and different times with this issue
Whoa - just noticed how old this thread was before you posted. Guess it's better than opening a new one.
Solved!
I tried installing busybox but no luck.
I copied the executable (in your case sh script) to root, and now it works fine
It's Super User issue
For me it was because of Super User updates and the problem solved after I had uninstalled the last updates for Super User
recommended from Google Play.
Thanks for the tips.
Hey, so just rooted lg axis using the zip file found In another forum. Downloaded adfree or adblocker watever the name, and it didnt ask for permissioN nor did it sjow up on the app list in the superuser app. Tried other root apps and none asked for permission. Please help!
have you tried going into settings and clearing data for superuser
I had this same issue, and wanted to come back and post the solution that worked for me, as I could not find the answer with google-fu.
In Super user app, goto preferences, tap the "SU Binary tap to update " button. When you do, it will ask for su rights, allow, then do it again, as it will fail the first time.
I then rebooted.
Now when you run other apps (I tried adfree) that need SU superuser app will track them.
I also enabled Use advanced prompt and outdated notification.

OMG. disabling and Enabling notifications helped... my root suddenly started to work LOL. The most stupid thing ever. especially when i still cant see ANY prompts while having new root apps.
TY m8 anyways!
I posted this in another thread but no help.
I rooted my phone using the one click utility with no problem.
Later, I installed script manager to run a script for the V6 Supercharger mod. Everything installed fine until the very end, at the end of the installation, I received a message that Script manager has stopped working. I then closed it.
Now I'm trying to run a different script, as su, but I receive a "permission denied" message. I entered su into terminal and get the same message, "permission denied".
This led me to believe that I lost root. I tried running the one click utility again but received an error. The error is: "protocol fault ". I'm also unable to update the SuperSU binary; I only get "Installation Failed".
What is going on here? Did I just lose root?

Hey, Ok so i updated my Huawei u8650 to android 4.4.2 and something went wrong with my root. I can open superuser and it shows my binary and all that and it says im rooted but when i go to a app that requires root access like terminal emulator for example and i type in the command su. nothing happens it just goes to the next line. and i tried to mount my SD card partition in link2sd and it said that the script cant be created because its not allowed to su.
I thought it could be that superuser just wasn't allowing permissions but i open superuser and theres no apps, no logs or anything. I checked my settings and they're all fine and i even tried to use SuperSU instead and i still got the same thing. There's no prompt to allow access either. I dont know if the apps are just not trying to get root access or what? No app can get root permission and i need to get this fixed so i can fix some bugs on the rom. Please Help.
Thanks to all who attempt or do help. Ill be sure to hit thanks for u.
Please Help!!!

I really need help to figure this out. Someone please help ie been trying to fix this problem for 2 days now and have gotten no where.
Hello, I used Max Lee's root method to root my phone. It went without a hitch until I tried opening SuperSU. Upon opening SuperSU, a dialog said "The SU binary needs to be updated. Continue?" I selected continue, and another dialog asked "How would you like to install the SU binary?" I select normal. The app indicated that it's installing. Once complete, I got another dialog saying "Samsung KNOX has been detected. This might limit root capabilities and cause annoying popups. Try to disable KNOX?" I selected OK and it then said "Failed to disable KNOX!" For what it's worth, I used all the download links through Max Lee's guide. I then updated SuperSU through the Play Store and now I'm getting an error of "SU Binary occupied" whenever I open the app,
I'm not quite sure what to do from this point forward. I attempted to search the forums here with nothing found. My endgame is to just have a clean Android experience without bloatware. Am I even going about this the right way, or is there a better way to proceed? Thanks.
Edit: Grammar, added some more info
I had the same issue. It was solved as stated in my thread.
