I've tried everything. I renamed wpa_supplicant, delete it... but i still get this damn error. For sure my wifi isnt broken because there are time where i can connect but shortly after it disconnects. but most of the time im unable to find the network....i need some help. Thanks i really appreciate it.

It seems turning off Mobile data fixes it, but its getting pretty annoying having to turn that on manually every time I leave the house. I wiped/reflashed and still the same problem.

tried to connect at work to our wifi router. First it was just searching for ip adress. After this Wifi turned of and just shower "error" down under the wifi activation point.
Now I`ve tried to reset to factory default and many other things. Everytime I turn my device back on I`ve the same message and wifi still doesn`t work.
Please help me. Its driving me crazy!

There`s something in the internet that says you have to delete the dhcp_list file in this folder "/data/misc/dhcp" but I don`t know how to connect from windows in the root system of my tab. I have rooted my tab but now I don`t know how to install apps without wifi. Anyway I had it rooted before and the root explorer doesn`t work
maybe someone hast good suggestions.
Is there any way to force a firmware update? Or is there another way to delete or reconfigure the wifi connection. I can`t connect to any wifi point
OK,... good news. Found a way to fix the Wifi Error.
Download Odin3 and the actual Firmware for you GT7p. Then put the device in download mode and connect to the computer. Flash the firmware again and then make a factory restore in recovery mode.
Here we go... on my device everything is working fine and i rooted it again.

Had a very similiar problem just with my home router for 2 days (first time connected and remembered, but after that still searching and out of reach...). Always had to turn off router and turn it on. Battery was drained in couple of hours due to this. Then just rebooted and uninstalled launcher I was using and voallaa...Since then wifi works properly everywhere (btw with very strong signal in comparison with any other device I had before).
So dont't know exactly what happened, but so far so good...
I searched around and couldn't find anything. Maybe I over looked it if so my apologies for a repost.
I have CM10 on my phone. 99% of the time I keep my wifi off and don't use it. About 2 weeks ago I tried my wifi and it won't turn on. I know there was a problem with the nightlies after the 1007 one, at least I think that's the right one. What I can't find is if the wifi issue has since been fixed. I'm on the lastest nightly and am still not able to turn my wifi on. I just wanted to check and make sure that this is still a problem before I go ahead and try a wipe and install again. I'd like to avoid that if it's not going to work. So is wifi still an issue? Is there something I can do to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated
EDIT: By not working I mean the wifi slider is greyed out. So attempting to slide it to on results in it immediately defaulting back to off. Also I tried changing the wifi setting from Europe to US but that never seems to save.
I did a factory reset and installed the rom again. I'm still unable to turn on my wifi. Can anyone offer any assistance?
Hey guys I was messing around with the app "network spoofer" and "droidsheep" to play a joke on my roommates when my phone crashed and ever since I haven't been able to connect to wifi networks - *guess I get what I deserve for going on my roommates Reddit session and changing his language to 1337 speak.
If I disable/enable wifi, restart, mess with all the wifi settings I either can't find any networks or if I do find networks I cannot connect it just fails immediately.
Running cyanogen mod - latest snapshot and have yet to try a full restore but ideally I'd rather fix it w/o the full restore.
Was wondering if you guys had any suggestions or knew of a fix without restoring the phone (if that will even work).

Try deleting /data/misc/wifi and /data/misc/dhcp and reboot.

I am new on here. I have looked and haven't been able to find anything on the internet that helps much. I am running android 4.4.4 Paranoid. I was using my phone this morning and everything was fine. I was connected to my home WiFi. When I went to school my phone wouldn't connect to internet. I would just say "searching..." I rebooted my phone and and the WiFi appeared and I tried to connect and it said "network connection failed". I can't figure out what is wrong. should I factory reset?, flash a new rom? (by the way I am not super smart and advanced on these kind of things so If your solution is complicated please provide detailed instructions.)
