Hi
if there a program that has widgets, which can change the network settings and turn on mobile network when pressed
i ask this because i use gsm alot and wifi while indoors but outdoors there is no need for wifi so i need a program that allows me to switch to these settings.
thanks in advance
Try dragging down on the top bar with your clock and data icon and touch the quick settings tab.

Try llama location on the market. It's a free app and base on the conditions you set you can tell the app to run actions based on a number of factors. I use it all the time. One of my favorite apps of all time.
Why don't you just create a shortcut to a widget on your home screen? Press Menu->Personalize->Widget (under Add items to home screen section)->Settings...->WiFi (HTC). This will place a toggle WiFi button on your home screen. Then you can turn WiFi on or off with one tap of a finger.

I've been searching everywhere and see ports or attempts at the Epic launcher/touchwiz, etc. being ported. I would rather stick with Sense.
However the 4 radio on/off buttons hidden away with the task bar seems perfect and would love to see it ported to the EVO.
Is anybody working on this or have any ideas/suggestions?
Agreed! This would be so amazing… I think the best bet would be for someone to add it to CM6, as it seems more like a core OS feature than an addon.
probably wont happen, I asked about this a few months back and many devs answered with why not. for it to happen we would need to port the framework from the galaxy s phones. it can happen, but it would take a lot of work. i would love this feature too though.
Would love this also....BOUNTY anyone???
Isn't there already an app that can place a control bar in the notication area?

Your sig is obnoxiously large. Why don't you resize it?
I think what you're looking for is bar control
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Bar Control is ok. It let's you put app short cuts in control bar. What the Epic task bar does is keep the Radio on/off buttons hidden till you pull down. Something we need but hidden away, yet quickly and easily accessible!
It like receiving a notification in your pull down task bar, but it's permanent!
The market app "Notification Status" comes closest to doing the same thing. It cost .99yuan
I would to also love this function on my EVO. My wife has the Epic 4g & I love the status bar buttons. Tried some other apps, can't find anything that works as simple as the Epic4g buttons.
CyanogenMod Nightly (after build 116) has this built in. You can select what you want to have in the bar, just like for the Power Control widget (WiFi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, GPS, Sound, Brightness, Auto-Sync, Screen shut-off timer, Auto-rotate, 2G/3G (doesn't work on CDMA phones), data on/off, lockscreen on/off, airplane mode, etc.)
https://yfrog.com/0keu0p
I was looking for the same thing, best I could find was using "quick desk beta" (double tap home to bring up a screen over your current app and add whatever widgets you need to it) I have most of the curvefish widgets on it (brightness, gps, airplane, WiFi, auto rotate, etc pretty much everything but a 4g toggle)

So, anyone got a working one for data and GPS? I have Power Control Plus but it's a no go.

Doesn't the default Power Bar widget have toggles for data and GPS?
Barring that, check out Widgetsoid, it has an abundance of toggles you can add.
SwitchPro Widget.
Has the bluetooth button and GPS button been fixed for switchpro?

It does have GPS (the data one is only for wifi) and I'm using it but since I bought power control plus I'd like to keep using its features. To be honest, the only one I really miss is the data(3g) toggle.

try widgetsoid. everything seems to work for me.
Hi there
Is it possible to make this work on the X10?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739487
Switching 2G/3G through the menus is very annoying. Or is there any other workaround for this?

Have you tried the app on the link?
Does it work?
I use switchpro widget. It's just like the original power toggle widget that comes with the phone but more features. Get it from the market.
Switchpro only calls the network menu too, or did i miss something? A more direct 2g/3g switch would be nice
Yes, i tried to install it with xrecovery, flashing without problems. After sucessful boot, the power bar is gone and on long tabbing an empty place on the desktop, nothing happens anymore :-\

Na SwitchPro gives you a button to toggle the data connection i.e 2g/3g
The button in the middle is called 'Data Connection' and not 2G/3G. But that's what it does, turns 3G on/off
It turns the data connection on and off, but thats not what i want, i want to switch directly between 2g and 3g.

Ooohh.. 'Use only 2G networks' option.. sorry, can't help ya.

Anyone know of a way to get the Dialer/Contacts App to go into landscape mode. I use my Nexus S 4G in my car dock in ladscape mode frequently, and it's a PITA to dial sideways while driving.

Go to your contacts, then press menu, settings. Go to the bottom and you should see Enable sensor rotation in the misc section.

Thanks, but there is no "Settings" menu within the Contacts app on the Nexus S 4G. Maybe on the Nexus S though.

You need to press the menu button on your Nexus S first. Also valid in the dialer screen.
Sorry it's not settings however, but preferences.

Nope, it's not there. Looks like they left some code out of the 4G model.
system setting --> display --> auto-rotate
for your own and other driver/people's safety , please do not use phone while you are driving

Thanks, but Auto-rotate has already been enabled in display settings, and it does not work in the dialer and contact apps. I've tried every ROM for the NS4G (except for CM7) and there seems to be no way to get the dialer into Landscape.
well... unfortunately there is nothing i can do about it ... wish you luck to find what you looking for
C.m. will do it on the dialer press menu

It seems that the mobile networks menu is missing from the settings panel?
Is there a way to switch between 2G and 3G mode, maybe with a widget or something?

go to setting and than more .. under data usage there you will find mobile network just click on it and you have the settings you were looking for
If that don't work press *#*#4636#*#* you will get a menu go
To phone options in the corner of where it says 2g,3g, ect... is a drop down menu. From there you can lock the signal to what ever you want. Then scroll down press refresh.you will see a group of numbers come up on the line before the refresh button. You are good to go now.I use this method to lock on my signal. When you reboot your phone you will have to do it again because settings go back so write down the code. Hope I helped you!

I found an app that sends me directly to the networks menu. It's a widget actually, but it does the job. The option is just not directly available from the menu. The mobile network menu is just a toggle button for mobile data...

Can't remember, but there are lots of apps that do this. Search for 2G in Google Play.
