Will the HDMI port work in Cyanogen 7.1? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I dont want to buy a cable unless im sure i can use it

no if you need to use hdmi then you need a stock rom

You can use different ones they work...cyanoger is the only one that didn't work for me

The hdmi port works for me. Of course, the scaling options from the stock rom were not available, but I played a few games like Riptide and Nova 2 on my television. I also watched a video I had recorded. The cable was cheap on Amazon. Worth it.

It kinda works for me. when i play hd content or hd videos, like the tegra video, it cut off and restarted every few seconds

It works for me also but no available settings.

Hdmi mirroring

I have a DROID x and um thinking on buying the hdmi cable and u wanted to know how to do hdmi mirroring
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I have done HDMI mirroring on my galaxy tab 10.1. The quality is OK at best. Videos will load and look good, but apps, and the homescreen look pretty mediocre. I would suggest it if you want to show videos, but using it to run twitter on your tv is going to look pretty bad.

Emulators

Is anyone else having trouble with playing emulators while HDMI outing to their TV while playing emulators? I tried some different test cases: Playing a mix of the different *oid emulators just on my phone, while using a ps3 controller, and while using a ps3 controller with the output being displayed on my TV. The only case in which I got unbearable lag and stuttering was when I use outputing to my TV through a monoprice MLH adapter. Everything ran smoothly otherwise. Furthermore I ran Cool Tool in the background to watch my cpu usage and even though it was lagging the cpu usage wasn't spiking or getting very high. Is anyone else having problem with HDMI out? I don't know why this faster phone can't even handle something my slower year old Atrix could
I believe most emulators aren't coded properly for ICS. I gave up on them for now. If you want a little boost, try out the dual core mod.
I have also noticed that emulators don't work as they did pre-ICS. My galaxy s2 running CM7 ran bit64/n64oid much smoother than my HOXL does on Clean Rom 2.6.
This is very infuriating. Using it as my phone as a retro game station used to be one of the biggest things I did with it and now I can't. Which emulators have people tried that don't seem to work that well on ICS? So far I know the oid ones at least don't seem to work too well.

Yea from my understanding a lot of emulator dev was being completed a while back, and then everything was taken off the market. A few new emulators are poping up again but they don't seem to be optimised for ICS or JB. A real shame as I too enjoyed the ol Mario 64 and GoldenEye.

I don't have any trouble with FPse (psx emulator) lagging, but then again it gets updates every week. Gotta have my twisted metal!

How many pages back did you have to go to find this thread lol. But really since then I've found on most emulators the games are actually playing at full fps just fine, it's the audio that is lagging which makes playing them unbearable. On all of the oid's I was able to get no slow downs in video just fine. It's just the audio that sounds like crap. The DAC on these phones just seems to really suck.
Download the slideme market, and search "yongzh"

The latest update to fpse made everything silky smooth and perfect audio. Runs at 160 fps so I had to use framelimiter in the app settings so everything wasn't running so fast lol

What settings do you use? Just the default ones?

That's what I'm wondering. I have been trying to play FF9 for ages and just can't get it to run smoothly since he started trying to use opengl (started back on my Atrix) and just gave up. I tried again today and still no good.
I don't use opengl on mine. Although it makes a few things look prettier it messes up a lot of the effects in twisted metal, mainly smoke and water. For now I'm content with the default render settings.
Ah yeah well even my Atrix can do full speed software rendering with fpse. It looks so bad though especially the ff games which looked so good.

Xbmc on tf700

I know they have a Beta in the wild but I was wondering has anyone gotten this puppy to work on their infinity?
This is relevant to my interests.
Bump
Yes. I tried it. It works - to some extent. Very confusing. Removed it until better Beta...

I also installed it but it wasn't working properly...screen was flickering and my mp3 files refused to play....uninstalled until a better version is released.
I tested the 07-26-12 and the 07-30-12 with my HOX and TF700, HOX wouldn't work any more (did work with the 07-20-12 release) but TF700 works fine (as in: it plays video's choppy.. no hardware support, but music is fine)

I've had pretty good luck with it, but have only tried a few videos. I'm not a huge fan of the touchscreen skin they include, but its a start. I think the default skin almost works better. I hope they get the keyboard shortcuts working, as that would be nice with the dock (i've long had them memorized).
It will be nice if more people come out with android/touchscreen specific skins.

which one would you say was more stable? Because when I tried to use it on my TF700 the screen kept flickering at the home screen of xbmc...
Atm none, they're too early in development to actually use.

What is the build you have installed?
I have 2012-09-04 now... Some MKV files will now work. Lots of hickups (now i use MX Player for MKV)
Yes mkv gave me stuttering buy the files i streamed were mp4 if i remember right. Im using that version as well. They say most of the problems with the stuttering is the lack of the hw drivers...or something to that extent

HDMI video INPUT???

Just curious if it's possible or anyone has tried to use the phone to accept video input via HDMI and view fullscreen. It would be great to utilize this awesome screen as a preview screen from my cameras vs their smaller LCD screens.

I too am very interested in this subject, imagine the possibilities! For cameras I recommend DSLR Controller by Chainfire, works 100% with the t3i & tf700 but still not HD... Well I think it'd be pretty cool to play xbox on a tablet still.
Have you tried an OTG cable?
I'll try and will report back.

Recommendations

Just looking for some suggestions.
I have a pc hooked up to my tv now and it's really quite overkill. All we do with it is stream videos from other computers in the house and watch Netflix.
I'm sure these little android stick things are powerful enough to do this.
Can anyone recommend a good one to replace my puter? Just need to be able to stream HD Netflix and play videos.
Thanks!

If it's just videos, probably any of the dual-core devices will do fine. You may need to use an Android 4.1 rom, as the Netflix app is broken on 4.2 for most or all of these sticks.
The mk808 and mk808b are both around $45; the former has slightly better support while the latter has Bluetooth. I have the b model, and it is great for Netflix. (I also use it with Debian in the background to run my IRC connection; it's got plenty of excess power for that plus videos.)
