Yes, this is good. Once they release their kernel sources we'll be able to start porting CM9. Right now teamhacksung is using a binary kernel from the Galaxy SII ICS leaks in their CM9 builds.
AMAZING!!!!
Best news all day..
have ICS on phone and find it much better than honeycomb
Im hoping for the best too, but until I see a P-6200 release I wont get excited.
Lets hope the release it for us too and not just P-6210.

Where is the leaked version? There is always a leaked version for us beta testers.

Galaxy Nexus is a Nexus, not a regular Samsung phone.
Besides that, vanilla UI is not as good as TW.
The only complaint I have about TW is it being "super intrusive". I own an (SPH-D700) Epic 4G and it took our developers about a full year to get it fully CM complaint/functional. Getting AOSP (CM/MIUI) fully functional was difficult due to the fact that our kernel(s)/file(s) were all reliant on TW. But (correct me if I'm wrong) I've heard that Samsung is now making TW less "intrusive" on Android devices. If this is 'true', I wouldn't mind having TW layed up on top of ICS (or any other Android version). TW actually has 'some' helpful features

We have the right to our own opinion. I will take stock ics over touchwiz any given day. After using the nexus and the butter smooth experience, I will not touch anything else.
Agreed, Pure Vanilla tastes best.
It seems Samsung has released their kernel source code for ICS. Hopefully this helps our development move right along.

ICS For Galaxy Tab Plus announcement from Samsung

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00046726&fm_seq=49755
Samsung is in close communication with both Google and our carrier partners to upgrade devices to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Specific models that will receive the ICS update include the following devices. Other specifics for the ICS update in the U.S. have not been announced.
This list may be altered as updates are confirmed or released.
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Wi-Fi (P6210)
How about P6200?
Engadget:
On AT&T, ICS is confirmed for its Galaxy S II, the Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy Note, Captivate Glide, Nexus S and Galaxy Tab 8.9. T-Mobile customers, however, lack a similarly breathless list of upgradable hardware, instead Samsung says it will aim to upgrade "eligible devices" in the coming months and will "provide updates as we have additional details to share." Which all sounds like those updates aren't coming to Big Magenta any time soon. Samsung vows to update the list with more details as they arrive, which is available at the source below.
BS samsung

Well good thing I have the 6210!
good to know
OP,
The announcement was made by Samsung mobile in the US.
The P6200 doesn't sell officially in the US so Samsung US didn't announce anything about it.
The P6200 was already announced by Samsung Korea as being upgraded soon.

hopefully samsung will release ICS for Tab Plus sooner... been waiting for it for quite awhile... honeycomb also not updates.. maybe they are working for the ICS to be release... hopefully..
... I use P6201 3g and i hope after ics update i can remove all samsung **** from the phone...in short, the samsung features implemented in 3.2 are useless for me.
All other devices i use like HD2(with ics) and Xoom (with 3.2) are better to use.
Still waiting for ICS and upcomming cm9 rom.
is there anyone who has information about an ics update for the p6200 in germany/austria?
I can't find anything in the web.
Cu, gurry.
i think it's just announced...
here it is the link

no official words from samsung.but expect it after s3 get 4.1 which is scheduled in october...but surely it will be updated this year.
Well, it's past mid November and we down South ain't getting any Android Jelly Bean love from Samsung. (Not even the HTC One X fans)
Therefore that I'm going the (un)official "Northern hemisphere" route via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881675 specifically with the German release.
Biggest concern though is that it seems like www.hotfile.com is non-functional ...
First I only routed then later flashed my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 with hellybean.com's release as Samsung stop support on the device whilst still under guarantee and I only had it for 4 months !
I've tasted Jelly Bean and WILL NEVER go back, therefore that my TAB 2 P5100 being only 2 days old is "ready" to be uplifted !!

Android Updates : Google Nexus vs Samsung Galaxy S

So Android 4.4 is here and we all start waiting for Samsung to deliver the update. But one thing that caught my mind is the news that Galaxy Nexus will not get the 4.4 update.
Google stops updating Galaxy Nexus just two years (November 2011 - November 2013) after it came out, it started with 4.0 and ended with 4.3 as the last official update. So it received updates for just 18 months.
Samsung Galaxy S3 started on Android 4.0, 4.3 update is coming in November and 4.4 update will probably be scheduled for next year. It got released in May 2012.
So who is delivering more updates here? I am not talking about the update schedule here.

Canada seeing some 4.3 love

accoding to Techworld24 http://techworld24.com/reviews/bell-upgrading-samsung-galaxy-s4-and-s4-mini-to-android-4-3-on-november-23rd-also-brings-galaxy-gear-compatibility
Finally. If you have the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the S4 mini then you’ll love what’s coming this weekend.
According to an internal Bell doc we received, owners of either of these Android devices will finally receive the upgrade to OS 4.3 Jelly Bean this coming Saturday, November 23rd. The update to 4.3 includes a number of long awaited features, most notedly Samsung’s KNOX security solution, better camera performance, plus compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
Samsung Galaxy S4 will be updated to version I337MVLUEMK6.
