Flash it, try it and if you are not happy with it reflash the CM kernel
P.S.: there is Tiamat 1.1.5 available

It depends what you want from your phone.
I use the Tiamat SmartAssV2 governor underclocked to 768 MHz max/ 182 MHz min CPU that gives me about 5 days of battery life (but I use my phone mainly for calling and WiFi). Tried with the CM kernel (interactive governor) and Tiamat gives better results for me.
IMO you have to try both kernels with you usage and decide which suits you best.

if I flash Tiamat 1.1.5.....and I do not satisfy with this ,so how can I back to origin kernal????
This is my thinking!!!
Into "Clockrecovery" --"wide cache" and "Wipe dalvik-cache"--then reflash CM7
Is it right???

Do not forget to calibrate your battery for best results:
charge your phone to 100 %
power it off (shut down)
continue charging until the led indicator turns from orange to green (this will take several seconds
reboot to Recovery (I use 4EXT Recovery)
wipe battery stats
reboot to your ROM

... Or use Battery Calibration.

This is a procedure that is advised to be done after every fresh flash (ROM, Kernel, etc) that is changing some of the operational conditions of the device (such as CPU), because the system is maintaining a log of the battery consumption (the graph in the Battery use in menu is based on that). So when you change the system this log is not longer valid so it has to be cleaned to ensure proper battery indication. (your phone can show 30 % but can actually have 50 % or 15 % charge if not calibrated)

any Battery Calibrating app is skipping step 3 in the described procedure, which is the reason that I prefer the manual method

I flash this kernal last night....and wipe battery too
Now my setup is
"SMARTASSV2 mode" 1267~268
and what is the different bewteen this mode???

[Q] G3 get freeze and buttons don't get it from lock mode.

Hello. I have got very annoying problem. I'm using Kyrillos 9.4.
Sometimes (twice a week) my g3 get freeze, and I can't unlock it, because screen don't light on. I must get battery off and on and after battery remove phone works as new.
I have this freeze on every kernel (G3MOD oc, non-oc, kyroarokernel)
Is there any fix for this issue?
This is annoying in the long run.
Do you have this problem too? Or my g3 has got defect?
PS. When I'm using stock, Samsung rom this issue does not exist.
Do u undervolt?
Cheers

Then I'm not very sure. The only causes I know of freezes is undervolting and overclocking. Since u do neither, I don't know. I would wipe cache and dalvik cache, if doesn't work factory reset, if doesn't work reflash. Are u sure u tested on non-oc kernel?
Cheers

Yes, I'm sure. Now i have got Non-OC kernel (G3MOD 2.3 non-oc). In set CPU I can set max frequency 667Mhz.
But on non-oc i have got this issue less frequently than on oc.
Maybe 1-2 times at month.
Have you ever got same frezze like mine?
Thank for help
Maybe once or twice on oc. I'm nt sure wad is causing your problem, but if its very little freezes then maybe you can live with it?
Cheers

does it require rooting???
Do you have a lot of apps and don't wanna lose the settings?
if not or if you don't care about setting them up again why not do a factory data reset and just erase everything and start from scratch?
i would suggest a you make a backup first but you're probably not rooted and even if you do, the backup might not work since it might also back up any wrong settings or something like that (i might be wrong here)
Why not root your phone? you can always unroot and relock the bootloader if you are worried about warranty.
edit: BTW any custom ROM requires you unlock your bootloader and install ClockworkMod recovery. so you would have to do that first in order to flash the AOSP roms.
but what abt the battery issue...
it is the main problem of all...

Have you looked at the battery usage under system settings > battery?
it likely is be a misbehaving app since you say several apps don't work correctly.
this should also go away with a flash of a ROM or doing the factory data reset.
Edit:
My wife has having similar problems after the ICS OTA update. she had a lot of apps and a bunch of widgets on the home screens, the phone was sluggish and some apps didn't work right or were FC'ing. In the end she just did a factory data reset and started from scratch and the phone is stable and feels faster and all apps are working fine now.

is it a kernel or a rom...
and i saw the screenshots of this rom- CodenameDroid-(MOD)-1.2.0-NS
is this rom a good one....with faster performance and a good battery
tried ICS stock rom.
No battery problem. similar life compared with 2.3: about 1.5 days
but ICS is running slower than 2.3. Though speed still acceptable, but I want the 2.3 speed
@colocynth
Try the Matr1x Kernel und you will be fine....
Hi cloedu, I tried mv 2.1.28, using matrix kernel, if my memory is correct. Still not speed up, just like stock.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Formatting everything (system , boot , cache , data .....) in CWM recovery , then reinstalling stock ICS ROM made a day and night difference in battery life for me .... From 15 hours avarage to almost 1.5+ days ... Highly recommended...

Help For Battery Life

Hello mates, I have some questions about battery life. Actually, I am wondering how can I extend battery life ? I've installed Juice Defender Ultimate and some of my friends said that I must install the kernel which has undervolting feature so I'm looking around for a ROM which has undervolting kernel and I need your help about this topic. Not restrict yourself about kernel stuff, everything about extending battery life is acceptable from me. Thanks a lot !

try this method on how to flash any ROM.... this is effective for all custom roms....
(btw, i'm on HBoot: 0.98.2000 (PG8810000) ENG s-off and using 4EXT Touch Recovery)
1. Boot into recovery
2. Format System (not wipe option but format option !!!)
3. Format Data
4. Wipe Cache then Format Boot
5. Wipe Data/Factory reset (1st option in wipe/format menu)
6. Wipe Dalvik Cache
Next if you have some wiping utility like Full Wipe 1.5 Ext4 for Saga.zip (I used the FULL WIPE DS by ronks888)...run that by selecting install zip from sd card and installing the zip...
7. Now flash the rom
8. Flash any kernel (I skipped this as there is already a kernel install on every custom rom unless you have other kernels that you're using)
9. Now reboot (Note don't flash any tweaks like transparent notification except gapps if required)
10. Now setup your phone
11. Reboot into recovery again (after setup your phone - after clicking the finish button part)
12. Now go into advanced then chose fix permissions and then install any tweaks you want (Note whether mentioned or not always wipe Dalvik Cache before installing tweak zip) - I didn't install any tweaks so all I did was fix permissions
13. Reboot (everything would work perfect 100%)
For a great battery life, try using the instructions below after following all the steps 1-13 above...
1. Use the phone till battery is less than 10% (after every fresh install)
2. Now charge it till it gives green light and shows 100% battery (some roms shows green at 90% so check if battery is 100%)
3. Now switch off the phone and charge again till it becomes green again (generally it should in 2-3 min)
4. Finally boot into recovery and wipe battery stats in the wipe/format menu.
5. Reboot (you will see a BIG difference in your battery life)

anyway, I am also having a miserable battery life.. can't last more than 10 hrs with frugal use..
but I have been using it for a year and a half and have not been taking care of my battery.. So probably it is nearing the end of its life and starting to "drop"..

It might not be the Rom, you might have apps that drain the battery, install better battery stats and get a better idea what might be draining the battery. I get about the or four hours of heavy use. Games internet video etc

Install better battery stats, see exactly what is keeping your phone awake, there's a thread for it on xda, you'll also get help with figuring out what and how to improve your battery

It's what I use.
In twrp, I flashed cleanrom and then lean kernel and then rebooted my phone.
ROM kernel combo is very smooth and fast with best battery life. I stayed on WiFi all day.
Clean ROM 5. 6 le with lean kernel
Power saving mode is on.
2 hours and 33 minutes screen on time.
Just an average day on clean ROM.
I was streaming Pandora over 4g for a while.
sent from that young galaxy on clean ROM!
I haven't given any custom kernel a chance yet cos I been getting amazing battery life on the ICS OTA modem/rpm using stock kernel. getting somewhere around 5 hours screen on time!
lean kernel would be my second option for a custom kernel though, behind Ziggy.

battery problem

Hi everyone,
It's been a few weeks now that my battery couldn't reach more than 5h with firekernel while it could easily before.
I changed the kernel and now the battery is very good but the indicator decreases from 100% to 1% quickly and gets stuck to 1% for a while.
I tried a battery calibration but that didn't help.
My config:
-Xt1541 2gb ram
-rom: AEX 7.1.2 v4.3
-kernel: UltraDevs v3.5
Can you please help me to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

First I'd suggest using latest version of UltraDevs kernel (v4.0).
If that still doesn't help you, take a nandroid backup and clean flash the ROM again and check for the problem without installing any apps. If it doesn't exist, install your apps 1 or 2 at a time and keep checking. You'll maybe find the app which is causing it (if it is called by some app).
If the problem exists with a clean flash and no other apps installed, it's the ROM and you might just report it to the ROM Dev.

take a nandroid backup, then flash back to stock marshmallow, see if things improve. Use either stock moto kernel or squid kernel and post battery stats after that
Thank you both for your reply!
I'm not home now and don't have really good signal so I'll try to get back on stock marshmallow when I will be able to.
Though I flashed Ultradevs v4.0 and the problem is still there. I'm gonna clean flash the ROM again and I'll tell you then.
Thanks again!
Sorry for the double post but do I need to wipe system in recovery for a clean flash?
I get back to the thread because I flashed back stock ROM with stock kernel and that did the same, now I'm on lineage os and the problem is the same. When I reboot bootloader it is say "battery OK" in green but in recovery and in the ROM 1% is displayed. The problem is very annoying and I don't have any idea how to solve it knowing motorola won't do anything the device being unlocked.
