how to root lg optimus s670zvd android 2.2.2 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Summary-to root your phone and take control by means of a one click root called gingerbreak.
1.to get started go to http://www.4shared.com
2.search gingerbreak.apk
3.download on your phone gingerbreak1.3
4.once installed click root phone.
5.wait till it reboots then there you go, your phone has been successfully rooted

I have the phone rooted, but when I turn on Wifi tether it appears to not be sending the wifi signal out. No device finds it. Any ideas?

ihad that problem too. but i downloaded the wifi tether app from marketplace and it turned out to work and i connected to my computer

Just did it following your instructions above... Reboot was a bit slower than usual but for my first root attempt with gingerbreak this worked flawlessly. I tried several others and they failed. Never bricked my phone TG !
Thank You

Unfortunately, for those of us that what to see if v1.3 will work on our Sprint LG Optimus S™ LS670, with Android 2.3.3 installed., the web page posted here will only show instances of v1.2; while there are 42 occurrences for searching "gingerbreak apk", you can only see the first 20 files for downloading, and there does not appear to be any go to next page of listings options

[Q] Can't root Indian Atrix 2 running OTA ICS 4.0.4

I have an Indian Atrix 2 running the official OTA ICS 4.0.4
I haven't rooted the phone before it updated and was trying to do it now using the files and instructions from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742879
I've done all the basics:
-Checked that USB Debugging was on
-Checked that Unknown Application Sources were allowed
-Made sure I had the latest drivers
However the root batch file only says that the "daemon started successfully" but nothing happens after...
I've attached a couple of screenshots
Also I noticed that after connecting my phone to the computer and running the command 'adb devices' my phone doesn't show up in the devices list, this probably has something to do with it, but I don't know what or how to rectify it.
Try different cable or computer usb port.
I've yet to successfully root mine as will but i would also suggest running as administrator
Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk 2
tried both suggestions, unfortunately to no avail.
How about reinstalling adb??
If nothing works i would suggest doing a factory reset and trying again.

I too am in India and on the same update. I am facing the same problem. Till now i have tried this on 3 different PCs and it hasn't worked. I don't want to go for a factory reset as i will loose all my apps and data.

seems driver issue, the phone is not recognized..
I rooted it using the attached RazrRoot file. I saw it somewhere on XDA but I am unable to find that thread. So I am uploading it again.
All the credits goes to original developer. I am just uploading it again.
For me, there was no problem in rooting the device. I rooted it as soon as I updated to ICS. So good luck to you all.
PS: I won't be responsible for any damage caused to your device
Still error

check your connection mode
When you connect the phone using the USB cable, what mode is activated? Try selecting mass storage mode and then run the root script. (Other modes like MTP etc won't work I think)
Also try reinstalling the drivers before trying this out.
Doesnt work

I've tried all the suggestions, out of which none seem to have worked. I think it is a driver issue, however I uninstalled the driver from the Windows Device manager and re installed the latest moto drivers, which hasn't solved the problem. So now I'm out of ideas

How long did u wait after running the root file ?
It does take time to move ahead from daemon started successfully.. and ur phone will reboot twice after the darmon starts.

If u see the screen shot i have attached in a reply above u will see that it goes till the end without rooting the phone
download the razr root file and try again, maybe some problem with the download. im sorry cant help you with anything else.. maybe a hard reset should do it.
try following this again,
download the moto driver
Moto Drivers
download the razr root from here again, this is the one i used
Razr root 4.0.4
Connect phone in MTP mode
USB debugging enabled
Right click on the root.bat file and Run as administrator..
This is how ive rooted, twice, and also one of my friend.. the difference is that im on the latest leak, 672.1.18.en.03 ( but thisis also the OTA for AsiaRetail MB865) So this Should probably work.. If not maybe research some more and if nothing helps maybe a hard reset is your last option..
See if this helps
Firstly I don't know since you already attempted a root method which didn't work out yet how & up to what extent it alters your phone though not rooted. If your phone is working I feel the first step now would be for you to do a factory reset assuming you are on ICS OTA (OTA remember & nothing else) & I am repeating one of my post for what's it worth to you cause it was successful for me, so here it is :
Here's what I did :
1) Installed the latest USB drivers (in my case Motocast) from Moto site.
2) As a double check executed the Motorola Device Manager program (basically the USB drivers) again from the Moto site (which gives option of repair or uninstall & I selected repair since I initiated the install process) atop the prior installation of the Motocast.
3) Cold boot the computer (shutdown & then restart & not just restart {being paranoid })
4) On phone ensure screen timeout to never, screen always on while charging, usb debug on, allow non market apps install check then plug in to back port and when the Moto USB transfer GUI pops up, right click the icon @ system tray & check do nothing when phone is plugged in. Unplug phone
5) Once again cold restart phone & computer
6) After phone restarts killed all google processes manually, disabled anti virus, vpn's & other non critical apps
6) Once rebooted both devices, selected MTP mode, plug in phone & click on Jim's root file
7) Root - Cut thru like hot knife thru butter
One most important point was since I was absolutely bone stock I did not do factory reset before plugging in phone and in case if any kind of tinkering has been done ensure factory reset to make sure you go absolutely bone stock & then follow above steps. Hope this helps.
Post your final update. Good Luck!

Yes I have the net ten phone also..your gunna run the .bat file then it the phone should ask you for a recovery pin number you can put in any number you want just has to be 4 or 5 digits I used the last 4 of my net10 cell number then it should reboot the phone and it might give you an error on the program but phone should reboot to normal then try it again a couple times it should say every thing success full once you see that reboot the phone and run the program again if I says successful again then your good download root checker and super user from market n run the root checker and should be good like I said be for I have this phone also bought it from best buy its the net 10 lg extreme .. its gonna give you a hard time for a couple tries but it will work I think I'm probly the only one to have done it with this program so u should be the second

When you run the program what option did you pick for your phone it should be the last option that dosnt have a phone model ...but this is how I did it exactly ... 1.download the file
2.hard reset the phone holding volume down home button n power once the lg logo appears at start up let go of the power button should factory reset ..
3.go to settings allow unknown sources USB debugging in able..
4.plug the phone to computer. Should have all the lg drivers installed ... of course ..when the phone prompts for USB connection type click on the one that says lg install or something like that should install some extra drivers if you haven't done that already.
5.then run the program as administrator if you aren't already then click the last option.
6.it should push all the files to phone should get fail for a certain amount of it .. but should prompt on your phone for a recovery pin put in any number you wish
6.it should reboot phone.. repeat the program again same options enter a recovery pin at promt and phone should reboot again repeat until it gives you all success full promps on your computer then repeat one more time ...
7. You should have root after the second success full attempt check install root checker n super user ..run root checker n ur all set..
8. Just a tip after you get root on your l40g you can factory reset it or hard reset it if you want and you won't loose root nor brick your device...

[Q] LG optimus 3d p925g bricked

I've looked at the similar threads , to be honest even if one of the suggestions might work , none of the people seem to have the same problem from my understanding.
So apologize ahead of time as i imagine someone has bricked in a similar fashion in some thread buried somewhere.
But have an unlocked P925g lg optimus 3d, got a few days ago.
Last night i rooted just fine , root checker says it was rooted properly.
Then i installed rom manager as i was following manbearpigs post.
When i got to flash clockwork mod , i clicked the button and it looked like it was doing some flashing , but the phone turned off to reboot??
and now when i power on the lg logo appears and then the screen goes funny.
If i try to hold the power down and 3d button , i get a green screen . However i'm very unsure of what to do next.
However when i plug into usb the phone goes black , refuses to turn back on until i take the battery out.
I'd pay someone here if i could , but i'll take any help i can get.
Appreciate any help.
I don't KNOW, but just an idea:
May be your phone is stuck in download mode?
With this latest ICS (original, not ported) my phone shows black screen when in download mode (no message SW UPDATE and something in Korean).
Did you try to plug your phone to PC? Does your comp see it?
From what I read flashing wrong CWM might cause problems...
Also try to read Ressurection thread by xbsa, it helped me couple times
Don't give up!

just try the LG flash tool to flash without reinstalling drivers, if it doesn't flash you have to uninstall all LG drivers, reboot your computer, install again LG drivers and flash Bin files using Flash tool, you don't have to flash Bin and fls files at the same time, first Bin file, if there is no network close LG flash, open it again and flash Fls at second time to get the right baseband (sometimes it not necessery to flash this fls files)
or just follow this guide

To get to download mode you need to keep battery in, remove sim and SD card. Hold vol+ and plug USB cable. You should see message SW UPDATE and some Korean. My phone now doesn't show it, just blank screen. But LG Flash sees it and u can flash bin fls.

Remove drivers and use the LGMobile Support Tool to install the drivers, if your phone is connected it should detect it and finish the install process. I believe the P925G is a Rogers device? You might have to select Rogers as your carrier to find the drivers.

ok so i've deleted all lg related material from my computer, when i connected the phone to the computer with battery in , nothing happens.
Without battery , it detects automatically , then it continues a loop of picking it up and dropping off .
So i moved to my laptop , attempted to follow the guide kupuku posted, however after getting the went logo on the phone , it never gets past that stage no matter what i do.
I've also tried LG support tool , it doesn't detect my phone on either my computer or laptop , even after installing/reinstalling the proper drivers.
LG does have a live chat which isn't open and the phone number can not be reached from my area.. i imagine its a 1800 number for asia or something as i do live in Canada.
My only other choice is to take the phone down to a guy that can get it out of boot loop for close to what i paided for the phone a few days ago.
Least to say , that option is something i want to do , nor can i afford to do.
once again i apprecaite the help that has been given , and for any that will be given.
edit:
Ok so i got lg mobile support to work by doing recovery and entering my imei number. Its currently at 4% but its been close to an hour and a half. Might restart and see if that works , but my phone is doing the logo boot repeat pattern still , even during this update. so not sure what exactly is happening.

How to root LG L50 Sporty (a.k.a LG D213c)

So this is my first post on XDA, due to the lack of information on this particular device. Here I'll try to explain how I managed to root this device after trying several methods available here and all over the web. First I'll explain what didn't work:
VROOT (*)
Framaroot
Motochopper
SRS Root
MTK Toolkit
Nearly every solution on the web
After trying every method above, I noticed none of them were working. They all were giving false positives. No ROOT at all. I was kinda frustrated, 'cause I had followed every instruction possible, without success. I double checked my PC drivers, and I noticed something odd: Every time I changed the USB connection type on the L50, Windows installed different drivers for the device. I'm saying this was odd because I installed the drivers from LG drivers pack, so I was a bit confused. So, after Windows Installed the drivers for MTP, Modem, PTP and LG mode, I tried VROOT and... VOILÁ! I had ROOT:laugh::laugh:
So here are the steps I followed, and the tools I used:
Download VROOT (a.k.a. as IRoot) from w w w. mgyun. c o m / en / getvroot (without spaces)
Enable DEBUG MODE (Surf the web if you don't know on how to do it).
Plug your device to your PC and wait until Windows Installs the drivers for the connection type.
Without unplugging the device, Change the USB connection type to the next one. Wait 'till windows finishes installation.
Repeat the previous step untill you finish with all connection types.
Check Device Manager for missing drivers. If you have some missing, repeat steps above.
Open VROOT/IROOT and plug your device to the PC. Follow on-screen instructions and wait.
ENJOY!
Now, I have to find a Custom Recovery that works with L50... so if you guys know where I can get one, I'll appreciate your help.
Your Thread will be moved to appropriate Section.
So I tried to make a recovery for this phone, but it cannot boot. It says boot certification error, and the phone reboots normally.
So is it possible that the bootloader is locked? I want recovery for this phone too.
someone know how i can do a nandroid backup on LG L50 ?
Thank you so much. Worked on D213AR
Can you confirm if there is a way to unlock NFC hidden option on my phone?

If you managed to get Root (with the steps described on the OP) You can use Titanium Backup.

[Q] How to Root stock LG G2 d80130a running Lollipop 5.0.2

*Solution - So my issue was that the person who sold me the phone had screwed up the partitions/download mode and so I had to manually push the bootloader laf.img files using fastboot from my pc while my phone is connected via usb.
I used parts from this tutorial that I found on th web: [unable to post due to insf. posts - google "FIX DEAD LG G2 - Unbrick / Fix Fastboot Mode - EASY METHOD" it's the first youtube video]
and here is the original site I found that lead me to my eureka moment: [unable to post due to insf. posts - google "lg g2 fast boot menu fix" it's the first link with the word "yakuza" in it]
Appreciate both of these individuals for providing the info, I'm now running CloudyG3 2.2 and loving it
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the title implies I'm trying to root my g2 d80130a which is already on lollipop 5.0.2.
I've tried the LG Single click root method and it fails on 75% (putting the phone in download mode) every time. I've tried updating drivers and restarting phone and pc but no luck. Always fails at 75% with my phone in download mode waiting for adb input.
Root Genius also fails saying "Your phone is so solid to root".. .assuming it means to say it's "to" solid to root but go figure .
I've heard of a mythical "Manural root method" but can't seem to find steps anywhere.
*I'm beginning to understand that the manual method is just doing all the steps manually that a particular script is automating for you. In attempting this, seaerching for the COM port in download mode seems to be the hiccup I'm not seeing a port when running the ports adb command. For now i'll start from there...
Been searching all day and looking for some direction, any help is truly appreciated.
Thanks,
Astro
ADB finds a port just fine when booted up in stock Lollipop but it fails to find a port in fastboot booted into download mode.
