[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II Email App port to Sensation? - HTC Sensation

I'm not sure if it's the email app or the gmail app but i love the "outlook" style with the email list on the left and the actual email on the right. Also being able to zoom in and out of emails would be amazing! I don't know if this can be done or not but I was wondering if it's possible! Thank you!

You can already pinch to zoom in the HTC mail app.

Oh yeah? I did not know that I have always been using the Gmail App. I actually just tried the Email app and it doesn't work to zoom.

Pinch zoom works here.

I've also been wondering about porting the SGS II EMail app, which looks better then HTC Sense stock

Contacts widget?

Looking for suggestions on a good contacts widget similar to the one in sense. Everything I've found so far won't display their facebook linked images.
Any suggestions?

If you get launcher pro plus, it has a facebook widget just like sense.
I was going for a contacts widget more than a facebook widget. Besides I'm wanting to stick to go launcher. I like it.

I use this one called scrollable contactwidget beta (spelled just like that), it's awesome and you can chafe the alpha to zero so it's clear.
To bad I'm not at my 8, I would share a screen shot

I just installed this widget and I like it, but it won't sync the persons contact image, because the contacts get their images from their facebook sync'd image.

It should work fine if you link the account back to a Gmail contact. I've tried all the other contact widgets and even with this flaw it's better then the other bloated ones. IMO.

All of my contacts are gmail contacts. All have linked facebook accts with pics. They have photos in my contact list, but they don't show in the widget.

Best twitter app?

So what is you guys favorite twitter app? Tweetdeck, twittter android, or seesmic? I use tweetdeck because I can log in to my facebook account as well but I just download it seesmic and I like the better options for links and pics, what you guys favorite?

Plume with the widget
+1 for plume

tweetcaster for me
I actually use Seesmic linked to Launcherpro Friends Widget. I can manage FB and Twitter in one feed, and can call up Seesmic for advanced Twitter work directly from the widget.
Yeah seismic features are nice but tweetdeck way to show new tweets or post is nice you see the yellow like to the right side and plume idk what I'm missing but to many menu to touch and pics takes too long to load

I came from teh Blackberry and loved UberTwitter. Seesmic is my current app as it drives me the least crazy, however, UberTwitter, is working on an Android App and I can't wait for it to come out.
+1 more for Plume
I really like Tweetdeck.

You, sir, have just made my day. UberTwitter is hands down the best twitter client on any device. Just about the only reason I miss the BB.
+1 for tweetdeck. full featured, loads pics fast and in high res, fluid. I havent tried any others besides tweetcaster because tweetdeck works so good
Plume. Hands down.

ChompSMS

Hi guys. Been using this app on my Sensation since day one but recently the app refuses to display contact pics in the SMS list. If i revert the contact to use a google pic rather than a fb pic then it works?? I think this has happened since HTC changed Facebook for Sense app. Any ideas?

Is there a way to display an unread count for email? Or an app that does it?

Looking for something similar to the way ios displays a number for unread emails. The stock mail app number goes away when I open the app, even if i don't read the email. Any help?

You can try a 3rd party email app like k9 or this stock ics email app and use a widget I guess:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651254
Or get OCD like me and never leave an email marked as unread...
Never.
However if you mean the badge, that I believe is the Way It Is according to HTC Sense.

Nova launcher prime has this feature
LauncherPro and GOLauncher EX have it in their customization settings. I particularly like GO cause you can assign swipes to dock icons,so say if you swipe up on the messaging icon it goes to whatsapp instead of messages

SMS App with tablet UI

Hi every one
I'm currently looking for a SMS app that let me see my list of conversation on the left and the conversation I selected on the right (something like the landscape mode SMS app for Galaxy SII). All I can find when looking for a tablet SMS app are apps that read SMS from a phone and display them on the tablet, but that's not what I'm looking for, as I want this app on my Paranoid Android Galaxy S. I hope what I mean is understandable enough, thanks in advance for anyone who answers.
So you want the SMS app to look like the tablet version of gmail?

Yes, I'm looking for something like that.
The sidekick 4g also has a stock mms app in that style. Somebody would need to recompile it for aosp though. Better off with the other one though cuz the sidekick used custom everything...

split view
samsung comes with a nice split view on galaxy tabs, unfortunately lost the view with switch to cm.
in the market is tablet sms by player thong, which only helps you with sms sent from this app.
on the left is the contact list. checked it, deleted it.
No other good sms app for phablets?
