After flashing back and forth between some different modems, my time isn't sync'ng correctly. If I go to settings, date and time, and toggle auto, it fixes. Wiped Dalvic but still happening. Ideas?

Try setting to manual time sync, reboot, set to auto time sync, reboot to CWM and flash UCKJ1. Make sure you are in a area with decent signal to allow the phone to sync properly with the network. Fixed the same issue for me last week.

Good to go. Thanks.

I've had some issues with the CM7 Toggles that came with NSCollab.
Last night, I tried switching from 2G to 3G. That worked, partly. I couldn't switch back to 3G after that, and I couldn't get any data to send. I tried switching it back on and off from the Toggles, but nothing. After rebooting, not only did 3G not come back on, but I kept getting an Error Message every 2 seconds having something to do with the android.phone not working. So then, I had to flash a backup and got the 3G working again.
Then, earlier today, I tried switching the Mobile Data and Data Sync off, but they also wouldn't come back on, even after rebooting, so I once again had to restore to a backup. I'm pretty new at this, so it could just be me being flat out stupid.
Are the toggles supposed to be this faulty, or is there a different way to turn them back on?
What exactly are Mobile Data and Data Sync?
Is it better to just leave 'em be, and turn just put it in Airplane Mode if needed?
That is a known issue with CM7, my advice would be to wipe data, reflash, then avoid the 2G/3G toggle. That's the only one with that issue so feel free to use the others.

Hello XDA!
I was reading up in the developer section, modems for phones- and been using ki3 and thought id try out the kk3. I get great service, speeds were about the same with the infuse version, but noticed my clock was 6 hours ahead so i flashed over to ki3 and same issue. Ive tried multiple modems, same issue and reinstalled octane still.. same issue- however i didn't perform a factory reset- maybe that could be the cure?I just don't want to loose all the programs etc.. not a big deal, but trying to get around that. A temp fix for this issue is untick/tick "Automatic network-provided values" in time settings, which gives a correct time and then leave setting unchecked. Its not the end of the world, but if anyone has any advise id appreciate it. I was hoping re-flashing octane would fix the time problem, live and learn!

I didn't know there was a KK3 modem for the Galaxy S 4G. Are you sure you got the right modem?

KK3 modem is for Infuse 4g. Some Infuse 4G users use our modems with good results and the same with us.
I tried KK3, to me it's very good, didn't have issue with clock.
I'm not sure why its doing it.. If I do a factory reset with octane rom does it get deleted or certain files reset back to original settings?

Factory reset will just remove your user data. the modem is untouched by it
Well I did something wrong.. I went into recovery Wipe Cache
Wipe Davilk Cache, factory reset and went into dl mode. I then opened odin and followed these steps
PIT: Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit
PDA: CODE_T959VUVKG4_CL385158_REV00_user_low_noship.tar.md5
PHONE: T959VUVKG4-Phone-CL1037720.tar.md5
CSC: SGH-T959V-CSC-TMB-VIBRANTP.tar.md5
everything updated to 2.3.4, baseband t959vuvkg4, kernel 2.6.35.7-t959vuvkg4-cl385158. My phone loads fine, but 6 hours ahead to temp fix the issue i uncheck/check Automatic in date and time but now registers an hour ahead Eastern Stadard Time showing Set date, Select time zone (eastern standard time), Set time grayed out. Now I uncheck Automatic, click select time zone select Central time and YAY i have my time!.. Checking Automatic time, its incorrect and rebooting my phone i have to go through that process. Not a big deal like i said, but I just want to turn my phone on and have the correct time. checked everywhere and only found issues when people flashed modems. I only experienced this problem after a i flashed to back to ki3 from kk3. Thoughts?

* CWM-UCKK1
(Has better signal and speeds than KI3, at the cost of significantly higher battery drain.)
* CWM-UCKK2
* CWM-UCKK3
Will add more as they come in...
* 4 hour clock jump NOT present with date and time set to auto update from network as observed on my phone.
after not using the kernel im at 6 hours.. lol, im just hoping that maybe I can go to stock or something- but im guessing maybe some system file was changed and will have to live with it. Could be worse and bricked, I suppose.
What kind of phone do you have?
galaxy t959
do you have mock locations enabled in settings/applications/development?
Ive enabled Mock locations now and its fixed the Central time issue, but still jumps 6 hours ahead (central time) with a restart or check/uncheck. I can run in manual mode, my big deal is resetting my phone and setting an alarm lol, i'll just have to double check for the time being.
I'm not sure you wan't to have mock locations enabled that is for development. I think your phone sees you in a different location than where you really are.
I'm guessing so.. After 10 min or so it jumps, thanks for your help. I'll just have to manually set it.

your time issues shouldn't be related to your modem I would try cycling your location settings (settings/location and security) that is the last ting that I can think of because it seems that your phone is always showing you UMT instead of your actual local time. after that I'm not sure what would be the reason.
what do you mean by cycling location settings?if you read my post earlier, it seems that when certain modems were used on infuse the clock jumped 4 hours, the same can be found in our modems http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192436&page=11 and the infuse forum had issues with hours as well on certain modems

next time ask in the ROM's Thread.
but as far as i know it does not. im using build 31 and its working fine.
try pulling out the battery for a few seconds then putting it back in and booting up.
Same here...data working fine in aokp.
Forgot to mention that there is an issue with data dropping in ALL 4.04 ROMs, including other phones.
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
The issue behind this here is that for whatever reason, the APN settings always seem to get lost. Sometimes the actually load properly and boom data. Then perhaps you leave wifi on and then most (at least all of the ICS roms I've used) drop the APN.The APN is what handles the data verification.
EDIT: As of recently, I have discovered that data is working fairly well on AOKP. I just reset the APN under its menu, then rebooted. Make sure you're running the correct RIL; it does help. Besides that, I've found that fix permission sometimes screws with APN recovery. So fix permissions, reset APN, and enjoy data coming back.
I have been using trickdroid for a while now with no problems. I was using screwing around with the GO Power app and changed some settings with connecting to wifi when the screen was off. Shortly after doing this i realized that I could not use wifi at all. I have changed the settings back to default and i am still having trouble. Eventually I removed the app. Now my phone wont find my wifi network, and if it does and I try to connect, it will disappear. Can someone help me? I have tried toggling the airplane mode and the mobile network with no results.

you can always flash another ROM =\
+1 on flashing new rom from scratch
then to go back to torxx rom just do a fresh install
or you could just try a full wipe including system and reinstall torxx rom first
maybe even try a different kernel
Two days ago, my device suddenly could not connect to any wifi anywhere, encrypted or not, WEP nor WPA. This began to happen after I did a backup though CWM.
It sees networks but continuously runs through a scanning, connect, disconnect, scanning cycle. It tries to set the IP from the network, but then flashes unsuccessful and starts scanning again and repeats the process, and in the list of available networks, all available networks cycle between being not in range, remembered or disabled.
Sometimes wifi networks are greyed out, sometimes, not. Sometimes it cannot even find my router, even if I place the Tab on top of it. It connects once in a while, randomly, but only holds the connection for a few minutes.
I have other wifi tablets and all can connect to my wifi, nothing has changed with my wifi settings, router, etc. But to make sure, I did cycle the modem and router on and off and even reset the Airport Extreme that I use to factory settings. Modem is new and Airport Extreme is only a couple of months old.
My Tab is rooted and running stock HC. Never been dropped, great condition, never exposed to shocks, water, etc.
I have tried the following fixes:
Restored to factory settings, wipe data, etc. Nothing. I have tried this several times.
I have tried setting a static IP address. Nope.
ODINed it back to stock using P6210XARKL1_P6210UEKL1_HOME.tar.md5. It briefly connects to wifi long enough to apply the update and after that, it starts cycling scanning, connecting, disconnecting, etc. Tried this several times as well.
I even tried the update to the UK ICS for the P6210 and have the same problem. It sees wifi, but cannot connect, and on occasion it cannot see any wifi at all, even when I am 2 feet away from the router.
At this point I am convinced that it is a hardware issue (either that or it is pouting because there is a new Nexus 7 in the house)
Anyone have any other suggestions for a fix?
Update:
I did another hard reset from within Settings-->Storage--> Factory Data Reset, rather than through recovery (either stock recovery or CWM) as I had done before.
Now, wifi connects a little more consistently. Would resetting that way actually make a difference? Or is this just a random thing? Am I trying to see a logic where none exists?
How would a hard reset through the system settings be any different than one through recovery? Or, does each reset clear something else that got corrupted along the way?
My wifi still randomly cycles through scanning, connecting, disconnected, just as before. However, now the connection is actually made more quickly (under a minute when before it could take up to 15 minutes - or just never connect) and seems to remain connected for longer periods of time now.
Well, after searching and reading through 100s of similar issues one of the workarounds is to use a wifi widget or a WiFi Fixer App.
I am using a widget to control wifi and it along with any other random thing I might try can occasionally make my Tab connect to my Wifi network.

Persistence = Profit.
I think I have finally solved the broken wifi issue. Just to recap, the problem started after I did a backup with garyd9's CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379532.
And as a last ditch effort I even tried toggling the wifi on/off with a widget as was suggested from other sources (Google is your friend), in addition to factory restores, or restoring from a CWM backup, etc. And that was not a reliable solution after all.
These are the steps I took.
Through stock recovery, I wiped data and cache, and did a factory restore, twice.
I ODINed back to stock, again.
Wiped data and cache and did a factory restore.
Wifi was still sluggish to connect, but finally I was able to load the update.
Then I wiped data and cache and did a factory restore again.
It has been 24 hours and I still have a strong wifi connection. If I power my Tab off and wait an hour or two, then reboot it connects immediately to wifi. If I toggle wifi on/off it still makes an immediate connection. YAY!
So, it seems that something got corrupted during the initial CWM backup and then persisted through many wipes and reinstalls.
UPDATE:
Still have working wifi!
I'm having the same problem now. I'm using latest CM9.
I was using Google Chrome just fine when suddenly Wifi disconnected for no apparent reason and it's now showing the same symptoms you described in the first post. I have formatted cache and cleared dalvik cache and it didn't work. Wiped everything and it didn't work. Reflashed CM9 and tried two different Wifi fix flashable ZIPs but I still got the problem. I'm wiping everything and reflashing CM9 once again.
Is someone else experiencing this?
I'm afraid to data wipe in stock recovery due to the brick bug reported (my tab uses one of the defective chips).
How is your Wifi holding up, VitaZora?
I hope persistance pays off.

My Tab also has the defective chip, but I didn't know that until AFTER I went through all those wipes and reinstalls.
But I can report that all is well and wifi is still working like a charm.

Ohhh I see...
I did wipe in HC stock recovery several times, but not in ICS stock recovery.
Have you wiped in ICS stock recovery? By selecting "Factory default" option from config menu or by manually going to recovery and selecting data wipe? Or both? Hahaha
Thank you for the reply!

Honestly, I can't remember. I know I flashed ICS twice as well as the CM9 version for our Tab.
I think the order for flashing from rooted HC was the following:
ICS, CM9, HC, HC, HC, ICS, HC.
In between each was either factory restore from the config menu or through recovery. Occasionally after flashing my device back to stock, it would go into a reboot loop and the only way to fix that was to enter recovery and wipe everything. But I reflashed so many times and tried wiping and factory restores multiple times as well, that I may have wiped ICS through recovery - in fact I am sure I did at least once.
Oh well, I guess I live dangerously.
