Flashing a different Stock Rom - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

Hello people nood here!
I have a stock Rom S5670JPKC1 (arabic) Froyo 2.2.1, I think there isn't any gingerbread update for my stock rom. Reading some post and comments about flashing a different firmware version or region will result to some issues like GPRS, WIFI and USB settings.
My questions is:
1) If I flash a different Stock Rom (gingerbread) and have some settings problems, can i flash back to my orginal Froyo firmware (stock rom) version? (from latest version to old version).
Thank you very much!

Yes, u can very easily revert back to your stock rom without any issues.
Follow the following procedure:
1.install clock world mod recovery (not from market or else ull brick your phone!,, instead use the post given in development section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277759)
2.before flashing the rom just do a backup in recovery mod. It will backup all your system files and apps on your sd card.
3. Now feel free to flash any rom.whenever u encounter any problem with current rom, just restore your phone in recovery mod.
Thats it!

yes you can flash back the orignal firmware..samfirmware has a 2.2.1 arabic firmware..
i am from india and am running an European firmware..no problems yet

Thank you guys for your reply.
I was able to flash XXKPL Gingerbread 2.3.4 in my phone. WIFI is working fine.
My problem now is the USB connection... no response from my PC and phone too. I want to root it using Super1Click and later found out that it won't work with gingerbread 2.3.4. I know i can use memory card adpter, but i want to make the usb connectivity work! I want to try it with Android Commander too.
Thanks again! I appreciate all your help!

Super1click wont work with our phone..You need to download the update.zip file and flash it in recovery to root

[Q] HELP! Questions!

Ok, so I just purchased a rooted G2x off of ebay. I'm coming from a moto cliq (yes, make fun of me) So i'm a bit over my head when it comes to custom ROMs and such. I'm on 2.2.2, and need to know what I should do.....
I've been having some data connection issues even if i'm on Wifi, the connection will just drop and won't come back for about 15 seconds. It's getting pretty bad, and i'm exasperated atm.
Do I upgrade to the LG 2.3.3? I don't want to lose my camera's features.
Do I install CM7? will that fix any of the touch screen issues and connection drops?
In your opinion, what would you do if you were in my shoes?
I'm open for all suggestions.
I would go for the update because it updates the baseband which deals with radio signals and may help with your connectivity issues, i would TRY CM7 for a bit and see how it goes. You can backup in Clockword Mod Receovery and when you restore to that backup you will have exactly what you backed up from. So backup on 2.3.3 --> install CM7 --> try it out for a few days ---> restore if you dont like/keep if you do.
heres a link to the LG froyo camera working for stock 2.3.3

Thanks for the reply. I'm still a bit confused though, when you say install 2.3.3 and backup(is that the stock 2.3.3 from LG>). Does that mean i'll lose my root? and I was under the impression that CM7 was GB, just a custom build with root permissions.
Lastly, how would I install the LG froyo camera?
Thanks for the help

Doing the official update may help because it upgrades your baseband.
You'll lose root until you restore you CM7 backup.
CM7 is GB but there is no way to update the baseband currently (that I know of) without doing the update.
You can't currently on CM7.

Again thanks for the quick reply. If i used CWM via NvFlash to backup my current image(2.2.2 rooted) and then updated to 2.3.3 via LG GB. Would I be able to go back to my 2.2.2 rooted if I didn't like 2.3.3?
Thanks to both

Mister Hat
You would be able to. But I was suggesting that you update to 2.3.3 (official) and then install Clockword mod recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847&highlight=clockworkmod) Then backup from there (2.3.3) and flash CM7 (based off of 2.3.5) and if you dont like THAT then restore to stock 2.3.3.
Another option would be to update --> install clockwork mod---> flash this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748) Which is a rooted GB. This would leave you with a stock 2.3.3 ROOTED, if you like the stock.
Overall I'd definitely go for CM7 though. More features just great overall. Also if you're looking to overclock then it IS possible with the stock GB thanks to Faux (http://twitter.com/#!/faux123) flash the latest G2x kernel on his twitter. Then you can overclock.
Bottom line I would just backup your current 2.2.2, install 2.3.3 through the LG updater (be careful following instructions in doing so) and just flash different ROMs and see which ones cure your issues best and which suits you best.

Yes. After the official update you will have to flash clockworkmod recovery again, but then you can flash any rom you want.

[Q] Return to Stock for Nexus S

Hello there.
I would like to ask for your good help restoring my Nexus S. I'm actually really exhausted looking for answers and tried downloading programs (e.g. One Click Stock) already. I wouldn't try to poke you guys if I hadn't reached dead end. Painstakingly exhausted for the last 3 days plus the slow connection we have here.
Using One Click Stock by Michael Peerman, I'm stuck without a signal since it says that I'm on Sprint. Everything works except that I'm always without signal.
My phone is under Globe Telecommunications Philippines. Build Number GRJ22. Currently it is in Gingerbread 2.3.4.
I won't bother rooting it again. I just want a simple droid without the extra benefits of a rooted phone.
Any help pointing me to the right direction would be really appreciated.
just flash a stock rom! and that would make a stock nexus s! and if you want even more you can lock the bootloader again!! and about the signal try flashing another radio!

It's only the ICS rom the one fot t-mobile. The GB one is for everybody
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommana...s&name=Stock Images&deviceName=Google Nexus S
Hello There.
Thanks for the hot tip. I got it all back to stock.
I did was root the phone again,
installed ClockworkMod. > Mount USB to PC > on the clockworkmod folder I created new folder "backup". Then paste the Stock Rom.
Reboot to Recovery then install from zip.
Voila! It worked.
Very much thanks to everyone.
Stock is different baseband version
I had recently flashed an ICS rom and could not get my mobile data working after trying every single radio for my model I9020A.
So I used rom manger to download 2.3.3 stock GB as described in this thread. Now it is showing I have baseband version I9020XXXB1 and when I go to system updates it says my system is up to date. How do I update to newest version of GB and show the correct baseband version of my phone?

[Q] How to downgrade From ICS to Gingerbread?

I have a Nexus s with 4.0.3 flashed via bootloader.How can i downgrade to 2.3.x without root,cwm or debug(cause it isn't working) ?
i've tried several methods but none of them worked(Odin,Heimdall)
They all requires me to enter download mode with debug enabled. My debug mode is enabled but as far as i read on xda,the degub is not working in this version of ICS.
my question is : how can i downgrade to ANY firmware from this ICS version
P.S. Entering recovery mode is not an option...the phone simpli enters in a recovery/download mode - loop and keeps restarting.
Please respond fast.10x
The way I did it was to download Clockwork Mod app and scroll down to where it says stock... then 2.3.3. Once u flash that you'll lose root and an update to 2.3.x will be prompted to ya. If it doesn't then Google (Download) 2.3.4(x) and manually update. What model do u have btw?
- Google
You need to root is the basic moral here. Nothing else is really worth the effort of getting it done.
Hi
If the procedure for the nexus is the same as it is for the S2.
It should be straight forward.
Download your ROM, if its Orange you want here is a good link, I used it myself today:
http://androidromupdate.com/2012/02...-i9100p-firmware-updates-list-and-stock-roms/
The ROM I used was the NON WIPE type - I9100BVKJ4_I9100ORAKJ4_ORA
I include a picture of what I did.
I was initially on a custom ICS 4.0.3 XXLPH and have gone back to Orange stock rom.
Load the integrated Rom just into the PDA window - connect your phone in download mode and start, and that should be it!
Don't check re-partition or anything else.
Keep trying it will work.
I also had an initial prob whereby I installed the wrong kernel and the phone screen was messed up and seemed to be bricked and to get it back I loaded odin up.
Put phone in download mode.
Checked re-partition - unchecked 'auto reboot and f.reset'
Used a PIT (partition file)
Used a kernel file suitable for the S2 in the PDA window and pressed 'start'
This seems to have repartitioned and wiped the mistake and unbricked the phone.
This loaded and the phone booted - no messed screen.
Then I continued to accomplish the ROM switch over.

Don't do this. The method for the Nexus S is definitely NOT the same as the SGS2, or even the SGS. Although it may be possible to use Odin or Heimdall, it is not recommended. We already have enough freedom to do as we please.
I thought all android / samsung phones would follow the same procedure for flashing new roms or unbricking via Odin?
Kies is useless for updating as we all know.
So what other methods beside Odin or Heimdall can be used on the samsung nexus?
Cheers for clarifying though, I was only tying to be helpful
galaxy 2 ics to gingerbread
dear all
i am much upset that i upgrade my galaxy s2 to ics 4.0.3 , it is much laggy i want to downgrade it to gb 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 , can anybody help me to do this , with the all the steps and downloading links of the exact files , i tried alot many times and when it is done on odin with pass message , cell restarts and with error screen .
thanks in anitcipitation
Regards
Shoaib Hassan
i've just downgraded to 2.3.2 i used the rom wiper from bm and then simply flashed the oxygen rom over it
the only way and easily is odin.just go to downloading.make sure to download the correct modem ,baseband and needed files by cheking your nexus s version.ex.i9020t,i9023 .there are not the same version, and will use different modem, baseband ...
I also want to downgrade from ics to gingerbread too, by pure luck i managed to upgrade to ics (i'm completely new to this) but having had this on my phone for awhile, I want to return to gingerbread...
I'm currently grabbing kernel_I9100xwkj3 (couldnt find xwkj1 anywhere)
and
gt-i9100_o2i_i9100xwkj1_i9100o2ik11_i9100xxk14
to use with odin?
question is... is this all i need and is there anything i need to be aware of?
You need to make use of fastboot and flash the stock GB rom from factory images provided by google, then you can flash cwm and then flash any rom you want
it is because cwm can flash roms with android version up but not down means that you can flash 4.1 if u have 4.0.4 but if you are on 4.0.4 then you cannot flash 2.3.x
Hope it helps

first of all you have to change the BASEBAND and the ROM.
FLASHING ZIP ROM with CWM will NOT change your ROM from version to version (2.2 ->2.3 -> 4.0) !!!!
Once you install OVER THE COMPUTER your ROM (in KDZ or FLS+BIN) then you can play with custom roms.
so if you did this before install Acura ICS rom then proibabvly you lost you IMEI.
this check when you write on your dial pad *#06#
if it is empty - you should restore it - check the developer section how to do that.
I'm just so lost imei. Then I did a restore and everything was like when I bought the mob. Then am via CWM intall king rom and everything worked but I not have network. so I did restore again and now my phone is terribly slow. I'd like to install ics rom .. so if you could explain to me in detail how to make a switch or a link where what to do. as the phone was bought in the mobail operator and is SIM lock

If you want to install gingerbrad ROM's you must update your phone to gingerbread, you can do this with official LG program or with kdz installer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236 and then install rom.Or if you want to install xbsall ICS port go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956347.

But you Cannot UPGRADE from GingerBread ( Thats what you Had on phone originally ) To ICS through your phone using Clockwork Mod
your phone will try, but you will just end up confusing it like you have done,

[Q] LG P500 help!

I am not a pro at installing android os. I am 16. I recently installed Cyanogenmod 10 (Android 4.1) on my phone (LG Optimus One) and I can't call. I use Simple Mobile. Whenever I try to call, it says,"Mobile Network not available". If you don't know a way to fix this. Can you show me how to put it back into Froyo 2.2?
Seems you are on old baseband and you have flashed a rom which is based on new baseband. Just search for ' old bb fix ' and flash this from your recovery. You will get back your network.

Nvm, I got it. I have the same problem for the Galaxy S2 model t989 too. It dropped in the water, then it can't read the sim card. So can you give me a link to old bb fix for S2 T989 plz? Thank you.
Ok, apparently, I installed a different old bb fix and now that doesn't work , then I installed the one you gave to me but then it didn't work. So I am stuck again. Please help.
goto settings, abouth phone and read what is your baseband, if it's v10 that is old, if its v20 it is new,
if it is old update via LGMDP to latest version 2.3 GB(if PC doesn't recognize your phone, boot into recovery, conect usb cable an from advance/mounts mount usb), install, reboot, now you'll have fresh oficial GB, root with Superoneclick latest version(maybe you will need to do it few times, for me it didn't go first time, if I remember it was at 3rd time or so), install CWM trough RomManager and after that you are good to go with what ever you want to put in that phone, anyway, all ccustom roms from 2.3.7 are for newbb
