[Req] flashable eh09 themes for stock ROM - Samsung Mesmerize

Title says it. On eh09 ROM want to find flashable themes or links to them. Anyone know of any?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App

Wont be able too. Sorry. The ROM generally has be deodexed in order for a theme to work. Stock ROMs aren't in a state that can be themed. If you want to have a theme I would suggest finding a stock deodexed ROM that has themes for it.
This is based on how things have always been. To the best of my knowledge it is still the case.

You've been a lot of help man. I'm super3devo from rootzwiki. I've had problems on other tons with my radio not being recognized. I found a version from.August of cm7 fixed for eh09. I'm worried of I flash it I may lose radio again. Currently I'm on stock eh09 rooted per your flashable zip that u linked to in another thread. Then I have red cwm. I have a decent voodoo kernel that's been good on battery. Just trying to talk myself into flashing cm7. Question though if I flash cm7 and things go bad can I restore a nandroid of eh09 or will the ext4 conversion break that? Leaving me with a need for a full odin repartition and flash back to eh09?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App

Well the CM7 for EH09 works just fine. And honestly its not too much different than the CM7.1 as far as features go. But if you want to stay on something that is fully functional try out Resurrection or Awesome Sauce. Both are Touchwiz based and have everything working. I personally love the resurrection ROM and would be running it now if I didn't like CM7 so much.
---------- Post added at 04:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:00 AM ----------
Also anytime you flash any sort of MTD ROM you generally have to Odin back to stock. What I would do is make a backup of you're current ROM. Then if you want to go back Odin back to DI14 with repartition checked. Then Odin EH09 without repartition checked. Then you could restore your backup.

Are u thinking like me that any ROM dependant on the eh09 radio would work?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App

Yeah. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't since that's the radio you have the best luck with.

Currently downloading eh09 heinz57. The one with tw4.5 and all that. Then ill use tks kernel. Wish me luck LOL. Hope I don't kill the radio again, ill have to wait till tomorrow when I have a chance to get to a computer with odin and all my files on it. Hopeing it goes well and works.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App

well no matter what rom u flash you'll have to flash the EH09 update first to get the newest radio and boot, but once u do that the sky is the limit...I used to use heinz57 and liked it a lot but a couple months i switched to using MIUI and haven't looked back since...if you like the speed of cm but want some of the mods like heinz has u should head on over to www.miui.us and check it out, i can't say enough good things about it.

If dfgas doesn't get around to porting it (I know he's really busy, man's got a lot on his plate) I will. downloading it now, btw...

Edits made, gotta prep my phone (running MIUI at the moment, need to disable lagfix, etc...) I'll get it uploaded once I confirm everything works the way it should!
EDIT: Tested 3G (market, phone calls, downloaded a couple apps...) so far everything seems to be working PERFECTLY. Uploading now, will make new post with link when it's done.
HERE is the "ported" Fascinate community rom. Enjoy!
EDIT: after running for a few hours, the phone has froze at the lock screen a couple times. Both with usb connected. Not sure what might cause that, but otherwise this rom seems to work great.
Thanks will give try
I have been running this for about a day "as is" for fascinate. Tue only prob im having is that texting doesn't work. That's it. Im on ec10 radio btw.
I want to also add I have lagfix enabled.
So the download u posted is already edited for the mes? You kick jazz. I was going to edit it myself this evening.
sent from my CM7 Samsung Mesminate
It is my understanding, that u need to flash the ec01 radio. This has solved the same problem others have had in this area. As long as u are on a fascinate rom.

Ya id agree. Will do so when I get home tonight.
Is it required to revert back entirely to stock before flashing the radio? Or is just the stock kernal ok?

I am already running EC01 radio, with this community_rom_final-MESMERIZE.zip file I should be able to just flash it....correct?
I did not see in the original post on the Fascinate forum what was working and what was not working...any information?

Thanks, flashing now from SC 2.9.2.
Edit: Everything working so far, just setting things up...great ROM so far, I will report back.
Yes, you really should be running the ec01 radio for this rom (or any other fascinate rom for that matter). The zip I linked you to previously is for v1 of this rom, and it already has the necessary edits to run on the mesmerize.
The fascinate devs have released a patch to v1.1, I took the liberty of editing it and uploading it. So, without further ado, here it is. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OM06DBRH
Feel free to ask any questions, ill do what I can to help (im not a developer by any means)

Cool, any data wipes needed for this flash?
Edit: Wiped dalvik and flashed...no issues. This ROM is fast without modifying anything in Voltage Control....more to come.
Great work guys! Thanks for filling this request!
so this rom is replacing the super clean rom? I'm not around regularly and not really sure. I'm having issues with the PnP right now and wanted to try something else. what is all in this rom? I'm on the EC10 radio so this probably wont work, right?
I just want something simple and works.
from what others have said, it will work on the EC10 radio, but mms/sms and maybe some other wireless services won't work properly if at all. I'm not a dev, so I don't really know the mechanics of how or why it has to run on the EC01 radio (aside from the simple fact that a fascinate rom needs to be paired with a fascinate radio).
And yes, I would strongly suggest a full wipe, but I think that depends also on what rom you're coming from. I switched to this rom from the MIUI, which is purely AOSP and then some... nothing touchwiz whatsoever. So I wiped everything. All of the ZIP files I've uploaded are to be flashed through Clockworkmod Recovery, aka "red recovery".
BTW, I've seen in various situations a lot of people have had issues restoring Titanium Backup apps & data, as well as other items. I personally use MyBackup Root, it works quite well (I used it to restore all my apps and data from MIUI).
I don't know if this rom is officially replacing the superclean rom, but it essentially has. All of the fascinate devs have washed their hands of the superclean rom, and this one is a big group-effort. Take it as you wish.

+1. Its nearly the complete look and feel of MIUI, but with almost the complete functionality of tw based roms!

i think you just need to edit a few things in the rom. not that i know how lol. the build prop being one. i hope someone does this
Here you go:

This is only for the EC01/ED01 radio since anything else is way beyond my ability to mess with. As far as I've seen, everything is working.
From what I've seen in the original thread (and when I was testing my edits), it doesn't like to boot unless you have Voodoo lagfix enabled before you flash. There are instructions somewhere in that thread, but I might as well post what I did to get it to work.
1. Odin to stock EC10
2. Odin the EC01 radio & CWM 3
3. Boot to recovery, flash Community ROM 1.3, and let it convert to voodoo
4. Reboot to recovery, wipe everything, and flash this
Awesome thanks will try when i get back from work. Thanks for your time and hardwork.

Oh...that would explain it. i guess i'll have to see if i can pull the apps in it that i want (MIUI Browser and camera)
How would you go about porting this rom to the EC10 radio?
Any chance of getting this ported for the ec10 radio? I never really noticed a difference between the 2 when I was using ec01, faster speeds better gps locks etc; only more of a headache because I had to odin back to ec10 before I could change back to a mes rom. So anyways just wondering if any of our wonderful devs had considered it?

[Q] ICBINB by ACID

I was looking around the Forum and I found Team ACID's ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15419687#post15419687
and I wanted to try that out for my Galaxy S 4G.
Right now I flashed my phone today to KC1 Stock+Root Froyo.
And before I do anything. Could someone tell me what Bali rom is? That's what it says that's included in the rom. Bali 3.1.
If I do flash it, if I get tired of it, will I be able to reflash back to the KC1 Stock+Root Froyo?
You should be able to flash back via odin...
I'm pretty sure it's 3.1 but you can flash whatever version you want
**Edit... Just read post, it has 3.3
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
You can always flash back to stock with ODIN if you don't like a ROM.
Bali is not the ROM, it's the Kernel. If the ROM is like a particular model car, the kernel is like the engine. Some car models have more than one engine you can get in them.
ROMs can have different kernels powering them (but they look the same otherwise).
hmmmm. I like your insight
I like to try and make analogies like that, so they are easy to understand

[Q] New to Charge. Root questions...

First of all I did search and found some info but it wasn't really helpful... I'm new to the Charge. I've had many android phones before and have never had problems rooting and flashing roms. I've searched and I've seen the instructions on how to root and they look like they're in another language. Does anyone have more clear instructions on how to root??? Any help, asap, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Brandon, this thread gives a great description on how to root your charge. => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14692818
If you still have questions feel free to ask, and I'll try to answer them as best as i can.
Ok, so i got it rooted and just installed a de-bloated stock Rom. Its ok, but now question is, if i decide to install a gingerbread Rom or any other Rom such as gummycharged, can i just install like i did on my bolt or x in cwm or do i have to use this odin program? if i have to use odin, how do i go about installing that way? thanks in advance...

For most roms, like gummycharged fe 2.0 and gbe 2.0 you just need CWM. I'm sure the process is the same as your bolt but just to be clear: Place the rom's zip you want on the sd card, boot into CWM, wipe date, dalvik cache, and cache partition, and then install the rom from the sd card. =) There are also some roms that come as full-odins, where you flash the package through odin and it does the work for you. That being said, you shouldn't run into that many unless you are un-rooting your phone. Hope that made sense. let me know if it doesn't.
Sweet. Thanks alot dude. That's awesome to know. I don't really wanna get into messing with odin. I like being able to do everything from my phone and not having to hook up to the laptop.

LOL, I was just coming in here to ask that exact same question as the OP. The wording was almost verbatim what I was going to say. The majority of experience I have had with Android is with HTC phones. I have rooted a few tablets as well. The instructions for the charge root are super confusing compared to previous devices.
My big issue is with the terminology. Like what is EE4, EPF1? Are there certain kernels that only work with certain roms? How easy is it to completely pooch the phone if I click on the wrong button in Odin? Can I make a nandroid backup and swap roms on the fly using Rom Manager depending on my moods or is it more complex then other android phones?
I haven't checked out the posts yet in this thread but seeing as how at least one other person has been just as confused as me I'm wondering if someone out there that has experience with both Samsung and lets say HTC phones can make a simple guide that makes comparisons to other rooting processes. For people that arn't used to Samsung phones, these instructions can be very overwhelming and there doesn't seem to be a newbie thread out there that gives information on all the abbreviations used and what they mean.

EE4, EP1W, ect are OS build numbers. EE4 is the current official release Froyo build. EP1W is the latest leaked Gingerbread build we have. Those are pretty much the only two version you want to worry about right now. There are Froyo kernels and Gingerbread kernels. Any Froyo kernel will work with any Froyo ROM, and any GB kernel will work with any GB ROM.
Only mess with the PDA button in Odin and you'll be fine. Forget the Phone button even exists, because that's the button that can get you into trouble. You can use the PIT button as well if you have the charge.pit file, but it's not normally necessary, so only do that if you have a reason.
ROM Manager is useless with this phone. There are reports that there is a version of CWM from it that will work with the Charge, but it doesn't work nearly as well as the latest imnuts CWM. The orange CWM dated 8/17 will let you do nandroid backups...you just need to boot directly into it and do them from CWM itself and forget about ROM Manager.

nice summation (is that a word? lol)... this is all you need to know, its not hard as Sammy phones in my experience are the easiest to root/rom/recover

This was all helpful. I installed gummycharged with no issues. One other thing. Is the install of a kernal for gingerbread roms done in cwm? And what is a standard kernal to use? Do I need to install a different radio?? Thanks.

kernels for all roms on the Charge are installed in CWM, as for GB kernels you can't go wrong with any of Imoseyons voodoo ones... radios don't necessarily need to be updated but I've noticed a big improvement with the latest EP1W modems, however the results vary on different phones I've seen

Download 2.3.4 instead it works fine.

[Q] Noob question regarding Builds

a while back i flashed Trigger to my phone using odin. Ive been using trigger since and its becoming buggy so i was looking into new ROMs but i was unsure of something. My baseband build is KD1, so does that mean i can only use KD1 builds or what :| Sorry if this facepalm worthy but its been a while since i did any of this. Im also looking for recommendations on what ROM to use next and if there is anything special i need to do when switching ROMs.
Thanks
You can flash any rom but if you flash a gingerbread rom you will need to have the correct bootloaders. Fbis251 has an excellent starter pack that you should check out. Valhalla is the only gb rom I liked. It is good others are equally as good.
