A restart would help. Are you OC or UV ? If you do not know what I mean the you probably not oc/uv. Sometime there are rouge apps that will cause this problem. Im on Dlev and my Android OS is at 6%

I do use SetCPU to oc 1600 max with 100 min on Conservative.
What are some uv settings that I could use?
Is there a good way to narrow down a rogue app?

You did delete Voltage Control right? A good way to narrow down battety hoggs is an app called Better Battery Stats. Here are my settings for Voltage Control

Delete VC? Are you talking about the app? I have it installed and I just copied your settings, hoping for the best.
Better battery stats on the android market brings up Juice Defender, is that what its called?

"BetterBatteryStats" is all one word. I was asking about Voltage Control, because I wanted to know if you had more than one app that sets the CPU.I dont know if it matters, but I would only keep the one you like best.

FYI, I'm on stock rogers (2.3.3) and I've had this exact same issue from day one. I haven't done any notable tinkering except for routing, but the problem existed before and after.
From what scraps of info I could find thru searching, I understood it to be a bug in 2.3.3, not around in froyo or anything later than 2.3.3.
So I suspect OC/UV settings may be a red herring. I was hoping a newer rom would fix it :-(

That is true about 2.3.3 having the "battery bug" but the Infuse version of Dlev is based on 2.3.4 and doesn't seem to have the same issue that I've seen.

BetterBatteryStats, or post the content of /proc/wakelocks
Edit: There's also starting to be evidence that certain behaviors on some wifi networks (such as possibly a badly behaving SSDP client) can inhibit deep sleep of Android devices.

i think I might have fixed my drain problem, Juicedefender along with those voltage tweaks... or is juicedefender really not a good app?
Also I am having data issues, there are times when I have a full 4 bars but no internet. I did the APN fix but I am a little confused with setting it to auto switching off. Should the circle be checked for the new APN that I created? Do I delete the other 2?

Used to use JD but found extremely excessive partial wakeocks. Might be ok if you use your phone enough to never let it get to deep sleep but in 12 hours off batt JD had almost 1000 wakes and over 2 hours of time listed by itself.

Will AOSP Helper work with the Atrix 2?

I use JuiceDefender to extend my battery life. It does pretty well at the moment, but some of the more useful features (a more efficient way of turning on and off data/wifi/GPS when they're not being used) requires something called "AOSP Helper" to be installed. Unfortunately, JuiceDefender says AOSP Helper is "not directly supported" but it can try installing it anyway, but I need to be able to backup from clockworkmod in the event it all goes horribly wrong.
None of that is particuarly encouraging.
Has anyone tried it? Did it work? I'm running Supercharged Atrix v5 if that makes any difference.

Don't know if it will work "properly" or not, but I did do a nandroid backup, told JD to go ahead and install the AOSP driver, which it did and then it rebooted my Atrix 2. After the reboot I fired up JD only to find that the Background Data (BD) option is only available in the Ultimate version (which I just can't see paying for - yet anyway). But the driver must have installed as the option to install it was gone. I was hoping to be able to use something like Setting Profiles to be able to toggle Multi Toggle Widget's Background-data toggle (which works by the way) on and off automatically, but I have not been able to get it to do that with it (or with Tasker either). Seems like there has to be a way to get that BD to toggle on and off via some sort of criteria automatically, but no one seems to have written anything (that works) yet. I feel your pain as for some reason when I leave BD on, my battery gets eaten up rather quickly.
P.S. I'm running the Supercharged v5 ROM (w/Update 1 and 2 zips applied) as well.
To answer your question: YES, AOSP Helper will work!
I am running 2.3.6 (stock, rooted) and had no problems installing the AOSP Helper and enabling the option in my JuiceDefender Ultimate settings.

OK, so I bit the bullet and picked up Juice Defender Ultimate. If I remember to, I'll post back battery life results. The AOSP Helper is installed and I have selected to let JD use it to manage Background Data (which is what eats my battery).

Cool, let's see how the battery life results turn out.
BTW, I switched to Supercharged Atrix V5.2 ROM (removed overclock settings though, so still stock for CPU) - I wanted the 1% battery mod.

I was already on the V5 Update 2, I should have specified. I've left the OC alone for now. Today is my first day on JuiceDefender Ultimate, after having it fully configured. Currently at 3 hrs, mostly in my pocket, and I'm at 95%. That used to be typical for me, before 2.3.6, and I've been fighting to get it back since. That will likely put me at around 90% by then end of the day, which would be (what used to be) "normal" if I don't end up using it much. So far, so good ...

AOSP installs, but does it really work?
In further testing, I'm not so sure the AOSP helper in Juice Defender (JD) actually works. I set it to manage Background Data (BD) and it NEVER turns it on. I even set up JD with an application specific setting for the Goolge Play Store to turn on BD and it still never did anything. I think it installs OK, but it apparently does not work for BD at least anyway. I've let the JD folks know...

wow! i can't belive it. i've installed cm7.2, because ics and jb have so much battery drain! only 12-14 hours in idle and with wlan sometimes even less! i've tried several kernels but no real changing.
my wish are only 24 to 36 hours runtime (mail, some messages, weather and traffic)!
which rom do you use? which kernel and what settings?
Thats why i posted this. So Many comments about battery drain. As i said i am on jellytime from blindndumb. Kernel 3.0.42. Switching mobile data or wifi only on if i need to.
hmmm that's the problem. i absolutely need mobile data for whatsapp and mail!

maybe you can use Tasker to swich data on/wifi on every 15 minutes to get an update...
BTW. I always have data/wifi on. I think smartphone without data is like fish without water
a couple of sms, 3 calls and surfing with smartphone is quite shocking actually...huhu...i used whatsapp, gmail, wifi (downloading) navigating with google maps, gaming quite frequent...so 1.5 days of usage is really makes me happy....fallout 5.0 with amidabuddha latest kernel really impressive...

I am also using data, but only at specific times. 3 or 4 times a day. I would really like an APP, that switches on data if i switch on the screen, and off if the screen turns off. My Mail is loaded if i turn on data anyway. Does someone know such an APP?
i've read this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31686138&postcount=72
maybe the reason for the bad battery drain is the newest htc radio..... at home i'm going to test it and flash the kernel! i hope this will be the answer to everything..... i can't belive it!

I have just yesterday flashed Fallout evoliution v5 ROM abd with UV custom voltage -50 and CPU set 1200mhz max on Active and 500Mhz Max on sleep and i got 2% Drain of battery in 11,5hours. It got from 100% to 98% It was on standby aswell and i did 1- 2 mins call and did 2 or 3 Text messages. And when i started Some mid- heavy usage it drained to 65 % in 4,5 hours. So its not best but its not something you should fear, it is completely reasonable for every day usage.

There is APP called tasker, it can pretty much make your phone super smart. But it asks for a lot of setting up. You can make your phone for example every time your gps app is turned on to turn GPS receiver on and shut it down on closing the APP, or in your case Switch data ON when you turn browser or app store on and turn data off after you close that program or screen is off.
As i said it is very smart APP which makes your phone very smart aswell, and it can make multiple scenarios and it can look up for multiple variables at the same time to make a decision

[Q] battery life and deep sleep

Recently I've noticed a lot of battery use when the phone is supposed to be asleep. (Rom -- old Vahalla Final). Battery life used to be okay. I ran cpu spy and better battery stats and found out the phone was not going into deep sleep mode at all. Where do I go from here?

Check wakelocks... both partial and kernel. Then look at alarms and network stats...
seems to me that deep sleep is working just fine on my sgs4g.

anyway, let me just say this, screen was off the whole time. the thing that surprises me is i know for a fact that the last time i charged it was more than the time indicated (feb 28th to be exact cause that's when I posted in the proton thread) and i had to turn the phone on to get the screen shot and it was still at 1% before i plugged it in.

under "kernel wakelocks" it says "ste-gps-interface" 93.6 % but I almost never use gps.
then "vbus_present" 19.9%
"synet"3.2%
"powermanagerservice" 1.8 %
"radio-interface" 1.5%
"max8998-charger"0.1%
and the rest are 0%.
so what is "ste-gps-interface"? There are some threads on it. The only time I switch on gps is for this speedometer-radar detector app that I haven't used in months.
partial wakelocks are negligible.
Under alarms I am getting 61 wakeups for Yahoo mail which makes sense as I'm on too many email lists. I've now frozen the Ymail application since I don't want email notifications on my phone anyway. the next highest is 21 wakeups for maps and I don't know why that is.
Sounds like your ROM/kernel's GPS handler is screwed up.
My suggestion would be another flash of your ROM without a wipe, reboot to system, unlock phone and accept any SU request popups, wait 10 minutes, and then if you had a custom kernel reboot to recovery, flash your kernel, reboot to system, wait another 10 minutes... and check Better Battery Stats to see if GPS is still going nuts. If so, you'll probably need to wipe system and just follow those steps again.

I reflashed the rom using CWM after wiping everything but I am still getting the ste-gps-interface wakelock. I'm wondering if reinstalling the system and bootloaders with Odin will do anything. I tried a different modem with no results.

Unchecked everything in settings / location services and see if that makes a difference.
Do you have GPS turned on or off when your getting that wakelock? If it's off turn it on and leave it on.
Maps and GPS rings a bell. Something about maps reporting your location periodically comes out of the dusty portions of my memory. Might want to do an XDA and a Web search on that.
Yep...

Believe that I saw something about Maps still running even when it's frozen, so you actually have to uninstall it.
Ive tried two ics roms and installed proton v2 and it is not deep sleeping. So i always end up reverting to hefe. Can anyone tell me why or confirm this ?

[Q] Liquidsmooth Question

I have less than 10 post so I have to make a separate thread here.... Anyway I have been alternating between Liquidsmooth and debloated stock. Compared to stock I have noticed very high battery drain, even when the phone is not doing anything! I have tried disabling unnecessary services, but drain still seems high, is there anything I can do about this?
Also thanks for putting the rom together Rav3nt3ch, aside from the battery trouble it's a great rom!
I have noticed that the battery saver and turning on the phone while plugged in both seem to cause problems with going into deep sleep mode in liquid. Without the battery saver active and rebooting with the phone unplugged i think i get better or at least comparable life to stock.

Horrible Battery Life 2h SOT - Need Kernel or other tweaks advice

Okay, so to make a long story short I have terrible battery life. (See image below)
I don't even game, all this time the only thing I did was listening to music trough my headphones whatsapp, and some low usage of Facebook (Messenger). Nothing special in my eyes.
2h55 min SOT. This is really the worst battery life I ever had on every phone, I have this for a couple of months now already. And I am so done with it.
I am looking for options:
Will a new kernel help me out? If so, which one? I don't like fine tweaking. Just a new kernel that works, no tweaking and that works for battery life. I heard FrancoKernel, or ElementalX is good. But keep in mind I just need a kernel for battery/performance. Not for fine tuning.
I will also install xXx No limits. Is this recommended for my case?
I want to know all of your opinions on this, and with my batttery life in mind. Because I really want to get this fixed, I am getting annoyed so much.. Thanks!

There are really no specials apps installed. Also Battery usage (detailed) doesn't give a lot special.

Nope I am not rooted. I am looking for options what can cause this and preferable without root. I am afraid that root will only will make things worse, while this already really worse.

Nope..
In the months that you've been dealing with this, have you factory reset your phone?

Yes, its a while ago now. I think it has been 1-2 months ago. But I can remember it didn't make a huge difference. The thing is, I can't reset it because of banking applications and working abroad. (I wont be able to install them again). And I am pretty sure it wont help.
So I am looking for a kernel option or other tweaks..
There's no miracle, a kernel won't help significantly. You just need to track what's draining your battery. Delete ad many apps as possible, deactivate system apps you don't need.
You can try deep clear in the recent apps management and turn off smart boost in the laboratory.
You might have to replace the battery if the other suggestions don't help
Download Accubattery from play store and charge your phone above 80% then check battery heath, i have 86% health and it's pretty good.
Also if you oem unlock bootloader it will wipe everything.
Your doing something wrong.
Tinder much? Or u checking to many IG babes?
Edit: in that case nothing wrong, but something else is wrong (logs plz)
I'm experiencing exactly the same. Idle battery drain is about 1,5% per hour, I hardly get more than 3 hrs of screen on time. I do think it has something to do with the OS, but can't figure out what...
Go in Google settings, location, scan, and check in wifi and Bluetooth are enabled. This combo drains a lot
Airplane mode + Wifi enable.

Okay, so to make a long story short I have terrible battery life. (See image below)
I don't even game, all this time the only thing I did was listening to music trough my headphones whatsapp, and some low usage of Facebook (Messenger). Nothing special in my eyes.
